Chapter 134: Are You Sure You Want The Newly Awakened?!
Chapter 134: Chapter 134: Are You Sure You Want The Newly Awakened?!
"Pat Marty was a complete waste of space!" Reginald finally snapped.
"We entrusted him with managing the family’s transactions with outside forces, and look where that got us. He accomplished nothing except dragging the entire family into trouble!"
His expression darkened further as he thought about his youngest son, Collins Lindsay.
The more Reginald considered the situation, the more he regretted ever having such a son.
If Collins had not developed improper intentions toward Mira and behaved recklessly because of his obsession with her, Pat Marty might never have died.
Without that incident, the ledger might never have fallen into the wrong hands, and the Lindsay family would not be struggling to defend itself against the authorities now.
In Reginald’s eyes, his son’s foolishness had set off a chain reaction that threatened the family’s future.
If Collins were still alive, Reginald suspected he would have broken both his legs himself.
The family had raised him in comfort, provided him with everything he needed, and given him opportunities that ordinary people could only dream of.
And this was how he repaid them?
Reginald was still silently cursing his unfortunate son when a sudden exclamation came from beside him.
"What’s happening outside?" one elder asked.
Everyone turned toward the speaker. One of the senior members had risen from his seat and was staring through the hall’s open windows at the extraordinary sight unfolding above the city.
"An awakening phenomenon!" another elder exclaimed after taking a closer look.
"Someone has awakened the Calamity Poison Body, and the phenomenon is centered right here in Silver Lake City!"
"Those blue purple bubbles rising from the ground are unmistakable," someone else said.
"They’re the manifestation of the Calamity Poison Body awakening. That’s one of the most powerful special physiques in the world!"
The gloomy atmosphere in the hall immediately changed.
The family members hurried to examine the scene outside, their earlier frustration giving way to excitement.
However, the strange clouds swirling across the sky also caught their attention.
"What about those dark clouds? Are they part of the same awakening?" someone asked.
"I don’t think so," another replied.
"I remember seeing something similar in Valemont a little over half a month ago. The phenomenon appeared around the same time Mira awakened her Frost Phoenix Bloodline."
The mention of Mira’s name made several people exchange meaningful glances.
That earlier phenomenon had already attracted considerable attention.
Yet even now, nobody seemed to know precisely what kind of constitution had produced those enormous clouds.
"Could someone else have awakened another divine level physique?" an elder wondered aloud.
"No one has recorded anything quite like this since the revival of spiritual energy," another replied.
"But look at the scale of the phenomenon. Whatever it is, its potential is unlikely to be inferior to the Frost Phoenix Bloodline or the Calamity Poison Body!"
The prospect of discovering another extraordinary talent immediately stirred the ambition of the Lindsay family’s senior members.
The family’s strength had never depended solely on its bloodline.
Although its own martial artists formed the foundation of its power, the Lindsay family also spent enormous sums every year recruiting talented outsiders to serve as guest elders.
Powerful martial artists with exceptional physiques were particularly valuable.
Such people could become formidable experts, and recruiting them early could provide a family with decades of future benefits.
If the Lindsay family could bring the newly awakened Calamity Poison Body under its protection, it might gain a powerful ally just when it needed one most.
And if they could also identify the person responsible for the strange clouds, they might secure another extraordinary talent.
Reginald’s eyes brightened as an idea occurred to him.
"These two phenomena might be connected," he said thoughtfully. "If we can locate the person who awakened the Calamity Poison Body, we might discover something about the individual responsible for the other phenomenon as well."
He immediately stood up.
"Enough standing around staring at the sky! Everyone, get moving!" he ordered.
The senior members turned toward him.
"The Calamity Poison Body has a distinctive characteristic before awakening," he continued.
"Its owner develops pustules across the body, making the condition easy to recognize. There can’t be that many people in Silver Lake City who fit that description." His tone grew forceful.
"This concerns the future of our family. Mobilize every connection we have, question anyone who might know something, and find that person before the other major forces do!"
"Understood!"
The senior members responded immediately before hurrying out to carry out his orders.
The Lindsay family was not the only organization to recognize the opportunity.
Across Silver Lake City, influential families, martial arts organizations, and other powerful groups reached the same conclusion.
News of the extraordinary awakening had spread quickly, and nobody wanted to miss the chance to recruit someone with such remarkable potential.
Even organizations elsewhere in the Valemont region began making inquiries.
The situation was very different from the previous phenomenon in Valemont itself.
Back then, identifying the person responsible had been extremely difficult.
This time, the Calamity Poison Body’s pre-awakening symptoms provided a clear lead.
Anyone who knew what to look for could begin narrowing down the possibilities immediately.
Consequently, the search for the newly awakened talent began in earnest.
None of those forces realized that the person they were searching for was currently staying in an abandoned construction site, under the protection of a man they would never have expected.

Half an hour passed before the chaotic energy surrounding Xavier finally subsided.
The enormous phenomenon in the sky gradually disappeared, and Xavier slowly regained consciousness.
As soon as his mind cleared, he sensed that something had changed.
A stream of unfamiliar information had appeared in his consciousness.
It was not a notification from the system. Instead, it was knowledge that seemed to have emerged naturally from his Chaos Body after its advancement from the Growth Stage to the Mature Stage.
Xavier carefully examined the information. Then he murmured the name of the technique it described.
"The Chaos Divine Palm," he said.
The technique allowed him to condense chaotic energy into a massive palm shaped attack and launch it at an enemy from a distance.
Once released, the chaotic palm would expand rapidly as it traveled, eventually covering an area hundreds of meters in radius.
Anything caught within its range would be subjected to devastating destructive force.
The description immediately reminded Xavier of a legendary palm strike from stories he had encountered in his previous life.
The two techniques shared a similar visual concept, but that was where the resemblance ended.
The Chaos Divine Palm drew its power directly from his Chaos Body, making it an exceptionally destructive secret technique.
As for its actual combat strength, Xavier would have to test it before drawing any conclusions.
Fortunately, he already had an opportunity in mind. He had come to Silver Lake City to deal with the Lindsay family, and he intended to visit their compound that very night.
Unless something unexpected happened, he would soon discover just how useful his newly acquired technique was.
But the Chaos Divine Palm was not the only benefit he had gained.
Xavier closed his eyes and examined the changes within his body.
The moment he looked inward, he could not help smiling.
His advancement into the Mature Stage had dramatically transformed both his physical strength and his cultivation.
Within his Star Sea, a hundred stars now shone brilliantly. He counted them carefully to make sure he was not mistaken.
One hundred.
Previously, only a small number of stars had been fully illuminated.
Now, the number had increased to a hundred, meaning he had successfully advanced to the second star level of the Star Sea Realm.
The improvement was substantial.
Xavier clenched his fist, feeling the extraordinary power coursing through his body.
His physical strength was now at least three times greater than it had been before the transformation.
The benefits of advancing his Chaos Body were becoming increasingly obvious.
Unfortunately, there was one small disappointment.
Despite igniting ninety additional stars, he had not awakened another supernatural ability. Even his existing enhancement type ability, Divine Speed, remained unchanged.
Still, Xavier did not let the matter bother him for long.
The relationship between cultivation and supernatural abilities had never been straightforward.
Some martial artists could advance all the way into the Divine Power Realm while possessing only one supernatural ability.
Others might illuminate hundreds of stars without awakening anything new, only to acquire two abilities in rapid succession after illuminating the next couple of stars.
Even after a century of spiritual energy revival, nobody had managed to establish a reliable pattern explaining how these abilities manifested.
In other words, it was largely a matter of luck.
Xavier consoled himself with that thought. Perhaps his luck had simply been a little poor this time. It was not worth worrying over.
"Master!" a young woman’s voice suddenly interrupted his thoughts.
Xavier turned toward the sound.
Maya Knox was standing nearby, looking at him with an expression that mixed excitement, uncertainty, and disbelief.
She had finally recovered from the astonishing experience of awakening her special physique and discovering that she could become a martial artist.
Xavier was about to respond when he got a proper look at her. His words caught in his throat. For several seconds, he simply stared.
