"Do not force it," I said, placing my right hand gently over Isolde’s fingers against the cold stone. "We have the key."

I reached into my inner coat pocket and drew out the black crystal - the Abyssal Resonance Core we recovered from the subterranean grotto.

The moment the crystal left my pocket, the three revolving threads of light inside it - black, gold, and violet - flared with intense recognition.

In the center of the stone seam, a circular depression in the granite began to hum in harmonic resonance with the crystal.

I pressed the Abyssal Key firmly into the stone socket.

Cold void mana surged from my core through the gemstone, syncing with Seraphina’s golden warmth and Isolde’s shadow aura.

The dark line along the mortar stopped pulsing.

Click.

A deep mechanical thud rattled through the floor under our boots.

The solid stone wall split in the middle, sliding backward into the foundation with a slow, heavy grind.

A rush of dry, cool air washed over our faces.

It did not smell like dust or mold.

It smelled like clean iron and old rain, perfectly preserved as if time itself had stopped behind the wall.

Isolde stepped through the opening first, her shadow spreading across the dark floor like a carpet.

Seraphina followed close on my right, her golden fire illuminating the massive hall before us.

Ding!

`[DISCOVERY: The Forgotten Vault]`

`[Origin: 1st Epoch - The Primordial Era]`

`[Type: Null-Zone Sealed Chamber]`

`[Details: A shielded subterranean vault untouched by the World’s Will. Stores unwritten history, lost bloodline scrolls, and iron lockboxes of deleted cadets.]`

`[Wife Investment Potential: High - Contains ancient knowledge to awaken hidden bloodline traits in Seraphina and Isolde.]`

’A null-zone untouched by the World’s Will.’

’The script has no power inside this room.’

We walked into the center of the vast chamber.

High arched pillars made of black stone held up the vaulted roof.

To our left, a warm underground mineral pool bubbled quietly, giving off soft white steam.

To our right stood a stone forge lined with ancient dark anvils and weapon racks.

In the center of the room sat a heavy iron table holding twelve locked metal boxes.

Seraphina walked to the edge of the iron table, her amber eyes widening as she read the engraved brass plates on each box.

"Cassian," Seraphina whispered, looking back at me with a pale face. "Look at the dates."

I walked over to the table and wiped a layer of gray dust from the front box.

`[DISCOVERY: Sealed Dossiers of the Erased Twelve]`

`[Origin: Crownland Academy History (30-Year Record)]`

`[Status: Censored from Public Memory]`

`[Details: Original records and journals of 12 commoner cadets erased by the World’s Will for having free will (0% Influence).]`

`[Tactical Value: Contains proof of rigged academy traps and methods to locate living commoners targeted by the script.]`

I opened the iron latch on the third box.

Inside lay a stack of yellowed cadet papers, a worn leather training journal, and an Iron crest badge.

On the front cover of the journal, stamped in black ink, was a name:

`Cadet Lyra - Class of 388`

I opened the worn leather journal.

The first pages were filled with detailed mana diagrams and research notes on twelve commoner cadets who had formed a quiet study circle.

They were not soldiers.

They were scholars, simply trying to understand why commoner mana cores were being artificially capped by the academy.

"Look at these diagrams," Seraphina whispered, pointing to the sketched mana lines in the margin. "Lyra mapped the exact restriction seals the academy places on Iron badges during intake. The instructors have been deliberately locking commoner magic so noble cadets stay on top."

’They were only students trying to learn.’

’And the academy hunted them for asking questions.’

Then the handwriting grew shaky and hurried.

Isolde leaned over my shoulder, resting her chin lightly against my arm as she read the dated entries aloud.

"Month 4, Day 12," Isolde read softly.

"Mark did not vanish into thin air.

I saw two noble cadets wearing golden badges corner him in the rear courtyard.

They used a strange, unnatural power that did not belong to normal academy magic.

By morning, the instructor skipped Mark’s name at roll call.

When I asked the others at lunch, nobody remembered who Mark was.

His bed in Wing 4 was replaced with an empty wooden trunk."

Seraphina turned the next page with careful fingers, her face tightening.

"Month 5, Day 3," Seraphina read, her voice dropping to a harsh whisper.

"They attacked Elena in the combat yard under the guise of an assessment duel.

It was another one of the academy’s favored golden cadets.

Then a strange memory fog rolled in, and Elena’s name dissolved from the library register.

We were only researching.

We only wanted to learn.

But whoever is controlling this school is hunting down anyone who asks questions.

Devon was taken last week.

Now there are only two of us left."

I turned to the final entry at the back of the book.

The ink was smudged with dried water drops.

"Month 5, Day 19.

The golden-badge cadets are waiting outside my dormitory.

My turn is coming tonight.

I can feel a strange force beginning to blur my face from my brother Rook’s mind.

If you find this vault, please do not let them erase us.

We were real.

We were only students."

Silence filled the ancient stone chamber.

Seraphina gently closed the leather cover, her fingers trembling with quiet royal anger.

"They murdered innocent students," Seraphina whispered, looking down at the worn badge on the table. "And then wiped their names from the kingdom."

"Not just the kingdom," Isolde said, her shadow spiking across the stone floor with lethal fury. "They made their own families forget they ever existed."

I looked across the twelve metal lockboxes lined up on the heavy iron table.

’Lyra and her friends left this proof so their lives wouldn’t be erased in vain.’

’Not on my watch.’

"We will bind these twelve files together," I said, placing my hand over Lyra’s journal. "We will call it The Book of the Forgotten. A permanent record of everyone taken by this school."

"And the commoners still living in the dorms?" Isolde asked, turning her pale eyes to me.

"We use Lyra’s notes to find the ones the academy targets next," I said. "We protect them, train them in secret, and give them a home here in the vault. A force of fighters with no noble family names."

"The Nameless Legion," Isolde murmured, a faint, dark smile touching her lips.

Seraphina’s fingers wrapped firmly around mine. "A legion that answers to no master."

Above the table, mounted on a dark stone pedestal, rested four masks forged from dull, pitch-black void metal.

They had no paint or decoration, just clean metal plates shaped to cover the upper half of a face.

I walked over to the pedestal and picked up the front mask.

`[DISCOVERY: Void-Shifting Masks]`

`[Origin: 1st Epoch - The Primordial Era]`

`[Type: Ancient Stealth Relic]`

`[Details: Forged from pure void metal. Erases the wearer’s mana signature, hides physical body heat, muffles breathing sounds, and distorts the voice.]`

`[Tactical Value: Bypasses academy alarm runes and prevents identity tracing during night operations.]`

The cold metal felt weightless in my hand. The moment my fingers gripped it, the soft hum of my breathing vanished, and my mana signature dropped to absolute zero.

"Ancient void-forged stealth masks," I said, sharing the scan details with Seraphina and Isolde. "They erase our mana signatures, hide body heat, and distort our voices."

"That means they will block the academy’s alarm runes completely," Seraphina said, picking up the second mask and inspecting the smooth metal. "Even the instructors won’t be able to track our mana."

Isolde took the third mask, holding it against her face for a test fit.

The dark metal adjusted smoothly to her bone structure. When she spoke, the mask distorted her voice into a cold, unrecognizable whisper.

"Good," Isolde said, a sharp glint in her eyes. "If we have to crack skulls after dark, nobody traces it back to our dorm room."

I picked up the fourth mask and slipped it into my inner coat pocket. "We save this one for Rook. If we bring him into the vault, he needs protection too."

I lifted the final mask and secured it over my face.

The cool metal settled against my skin, completely masking my features and locking my void core into dead silence.

"During the day, we play along," I said, my distorted voice quiet and steady in the dark. "We attend class, take our exams, and let them think we are just three cadets minding our own business. Whatever we do down here stays completely unwritten."

Seraphina smiled, sliding her mask into her cloak. "The Unwritten. It fits."
