Haitang.

The man who had sold his opera troupe to travel across Huaxia, with looks that rivaled Tao Quan’s.

He seemed to have burst onto the scene out of nowhere. A single film three years ago catapulted him to legendary status, and he had remained active on screen since, albeit in a low-key manner.

After the movie ended, Hei Dan’er asked a question An Ning hadn’t considered.

"Auntie, do we have to write a review?"

An Ning had never planned on it, but since Hei Dan’er was the one asking...

"You are."

Precious snickered behind them, but the smile had barely bloomed before it froze on their face.

"One each. Turn them in to me tomorrow."

With that one sentence, An Ning solidified Precious’s resolve to teach Hei Dan’er a lesson.

Next, the four of them went to an amusement park. At night, the park twinkled with colorful lights and was even more crowded than during the day.

An Ning took the children on the carousel, down an extra-long slide, and on all sorts of rides that spun them around and around.

"A shooting game! Auntie, can I play?"

"Of course!"

An Ning felt that the word she had said most all evening was "yes." ’If you ask, you can. If you want to, you can.’

Hei Dan’er took the toy rifle and aimed at the balloons on the board across the way.

"BANG!"

"BANG!"

"BANG!"

Three shots in a row, all hits. Even An Ning was a little surprised.

Generally, the games at these stalls were rigged to make hitting the target difficult—not for professionals, of course.

’But Hei Dan’er... He’s a little too good at this, isn’t he?’

In the end, Hei Dan’er hit eighteen out of twenty shots and won a large stuffed animal, which he immediately gave to An Ning.

"Auntie, this is for you!"

"Oh, thank you, Hei Dan’er. You’re amazing! Such a good shot!"

"Heh heh, all that practice breaking windows paid off, I guess."

His comment made An Ning laugh. ’You’re really asking for it!’

After making their way through the park, the four of them found a place for a late-night snack before finally heading home to rest.

The next day, Tangtang and Precious woke up early as usual to train with An Ning.

After their morning training, An Ning left the three children with Yu Zheng and drove off by herself.

For the next few days, An Ning would leave right after morning training and be gone for the entire day. No one knew what she was up to.

The three children followed Yu Zheng, spending their days eating, drinking, and playing all over Beijing. They were having a wonderful time.

A week later, An Ning’s schedule finally cleared up.

Today, however, she didn’t go out. After morning training, she had the three children sit with her on the sofa to watch TV.

It was the news channel, the seven o’clock morning report.

"Starting today... the Huaxia Power Company will be officially listed on the stock exchange, selling electrical power to the entire world..."

The exclusive report lasted for more than five minutes. To some, it was critically important. To the general public, it was just another news story.

At the very least, the three little ones watching the news with An Ning didn’t sense that anything was out of the ordinary.

When the segment ended, An Ning picked up the remote and turned off the television.

"Alright, where are you all planning to go today? How about taking me along?"

"Okay! Uncle Yu said he was going to take us golfing."

"Golf?" An Ning mused. ’I don’t think I know how to play,’ she thought, but a second later, she decided to go anyway.

"Uncle Yu says the food at this golf club is amazing!"

"Let’s go!"

An Ning set off with the three children.

At that very moment, the news about the Huaxia Power Company became a central topic for many corporations, and even many nations. Special meetings were being convened just to discuss it.

Domestically, the biggest question was: Who exactly had provided the technology behind the Huaxia Power Company?

It was rumored that this single individual held a twenty-percent controlling stake in the Huaxia Power Company.

This was a national power company—not something an ordinary person could touch. It was an indispensable part of the world’s operation.

Internationally, the reactions were a mix of chaos and disbelief.

Disbelief. Impossible. It had to be fake!

Huaxia? That backward nation? A country of sallow, starving people? How could they possibly have a power company, let alone sell electricity abroad? Impossible!

But when the first contract between Huaxia and a neighboring country was signed, some nations could no longer sit idly by.

A flood of inquiries was sent, all of which received a direct answer from Huaxia.

You can really sell electricity?

We can.

How do you have a surplus of power?

That’s a state secret. No comment.

How much power can you sell?

However much you want to buy.

These confident answers made the international community turn its gaze toward Huaxia for the very first time.

When had they changed so much?

Big moves and small, from nation to nation and company to company, everyone sprang into action. Yet the mastermind behind it all was heading to the golf course with the most delicious food.

An Ning and the three kids all changed into golfing clothes and shoes, complete with matching hats. The pretty ones looked pretty, the handsome ones looked handsome, and the dark one... looked dark.

After the four of them arrived at the golf course, they checked the time. It was still too early to eat, as the kitchen wasn’t serving yet, so they had no choice but to play some golf first.

Expensive turf, a wide-open field of view, and small white golf carts.

An Ning, shouldering an oversized bag of golf clubs, first watched the other players swing and slowly figured out the rules.

"So, we swing the club, hit the ball, make it fly really far, and get it into that tiny little hole."

"That’s right."

Yu Zheng nodded in confirmation. An Ning stepped forward confidently. "Doesn’t seem too hard."

"Hah! How amusing."

A mocking female voice drifted over from nearby. An Ning glanced down at her clothes. ’I’m dressed pretty luxuriously today,’ she thought. ’How did I still manage to run into a snob?’

An Ning didn’t say a word in response. She casually picked out a ball and a club, not even bothering to check which one it was.

Precious placed the ball on the tee. An Ning swung. The small white ball sailed through the air in a graceful arc, letting out a sharp whistle as it cut through the wind.

With a soft thud, the ball dropped into the hole.

"See? I told you it wasn’t hard. Is that so amusing?"

"Teacher," Precious chimed in, "for some people, this is a lot harder than making a funny remark."

An Ning and Precious were perfectly in sync, leaving the mocking woman speechless. Faced with such absolute skill, the woman turned and left in silence.

Once the little interruption was over, the group of five continued on. Partway there, Yu Zheng went to get a golf cart. It was simply too hot to keep walking.

Tiredness wasn’t the main issue; the scorching sun was.

In Beijing, in July, even a rat would think twice before scurrying out into the open.

The five of them took two golf carts to a driving range and got ready to play.

Yu Zheng knew the proper techniques, so he taught the children. An Ning, on the other hand, was all about freestyle.

After learning for a while, the three children all started practicing on their own.

One after another, the small white balls were sent flying, as dense as a shower of tiny white raindrops.

"Watch this! I might not get it in the hole, but I’ll definitely hit it the farthest!"

Eager to prove himself, Hei Dan’er swung with all his might!

"Hahahaha!"

"Hei Dan’er, you’re just digging the deepest hole!"

Knowing him well, Precious and Tangtang laughed freely at Hei Dan’er’s expense.

Unconvinced, Hei Dan’er stomped his foot, took out another ball, fixed his eyes on it, swung his arm, and hit!

"WHOOSH—"

The white ball took off smoothly, sailing over the driving range. It reached the peak of its arc and began to descend.

"Ha! See? I told you I could hit it the farthest!"

"Ouch! Who hit that ball?!"
