An Ning’s somewhat lofty words made Zhao Pandi laugh heartily.

"You know, I’ve discovered something about you... You’re never blindly confident."

Under An Ning’s questioning gaze, Zhao Pandi changed what she was originally going to say.

An Ning glanced at Zhao Pandi, her voice drifting over softly.

"I don’t think that’s what you wanted to say just now."

"Those are minor details. You usually have to figure out the deeper meaning for yourself."

"Like doing politics questions and reading comprehension?"

"You make an excellent point."

The two of them chatted more and more openly. Throughout the day, it was as if they were tourists, strolling around eating and drinking, and seeing all the requisite sights.

They even had time to do some shopping. Judging by the way An Ning spent money as if it were nothing, Zhao Pandi suspected several times that she must have robbed a bank.

"Don’t worry. If I wanted to rob someone, I’d go rob pirates."

Zhao Pandi was once again amused by An Ning’s peculiar train of thought, and she doubled over with laughter.

"How are you so interesting? And most importantly, you’re rich."

"Sigh, how am I supposed to live after this is over?"

"The contrast will be too stark. It’ll be hard for me to accept."

The melodramatic Zhao Pandi giggled and laughed, while An Ning simply waited quietly by her side.

Zhao Pandi finally straightened up, patted An Ning’s shoulder, and said, "You would make a very good partner."

"I’m not into women."

"What a coincidence. Neither am I."

The two wanted to continue their stroll, but as they walked, a fog suddenly appeared up ahead. An Ning said, "They’re here," and Zhao Pandi immediately found her spot: right behind An Ning.

"Take this piece of jade. Stay behind me and don’t let go no matter what happens, understand?"

"Don’t worry. I’m extremely enthusiastic about staying alive."

An Ning nodded, relieved, her eyes fixing on a certain spot.

"Since you’ve come, why not show yourself?"

"Is it because you know your skills aren’t fit to be seen?"

Since they were opponents, An Ning had no kind words for them. In fact, holding to the philosophy that a fight should end in total submission, her very first move was a powerful one.

The Feng Shui Master who had secretly used Feng Shui to create the fog coughed up blood after just a single exchange.

Before he could even get up, An Ning had found him.

The man lay on the ground and cupped his hands at An Ning. "My skills are inferior. I surrender."

Seeing the man try to get up and leave, An Ning gave him a brilliant smile.

"Sorry, but I have no intention of letting you leave."

"Huh? Why? This is the rule for sparring in our Mystic Sect. After I’ve admitted defeat in a duel, you can’t pursue the matter any further."

An Ning squatted down, analyzing the situation with great seriousness.

"The duels you speak of, they happen when both parties are aware of it, right?"

"But today, you appeared suddenly. I didn’t know the time or place, much less who I was up against. And behind me is someone who isn’t a member of the Mystic Sect. So, do you still think this was a duel?"

An Ning’s words left him speechless, but he still insisted, "I’ve already surrendered."

"I know! But you’re not dead yet, are you?"

With that line—"But you’re not dead yet, are you?"—An Ning proceeded to thoroughly tie up the Mystic Master on the ground.

"Will that hold him?"

Zhao Pandi asked worriedly, "I heard ordinary ropes can’t restrain them."

"That’s why mine isn’t an ordinary rope. Don’t worry."

"Not bad, not bad. This is my first time catching a Mystic Master."

Zhao Pandi squatted down to observe the bound man as if he were a rare beast, making the Mystic Master feel so awkward and ashamed that he wanted to hide his face.

"Stop squirming. You can’t use Mysticism."

An Ning’s words completely extinguished the man’s struggles on the ground. He looked up at An Ning.

"Who in the world are you?"

"Heh, just a nameless nobody from Huaxia."

This even more impressive line seemed to hang halos over An Ning’s head.

In reality, with the added effect of the city’s neon lights, several halos did indeed appear over An Ning’s head.

Regardless, the two of them dragged their bound captive along the streets, looking for a wide-open area suitable for a fight.

An Ning casually sat cross-legged on the ground with Zhao Pandi beside her. The bound Mystic Master lay on the ground, resigned to his fate.

"So now we...?"

"Wait for someone new to come and rescue him."

An Ning pointed a finger at the person lying on the ground. Zhao Pandi nodded in understanding and continued to wait.

Their every move was under the surveillance of Brother Hao and his men. The whereabouts of all three of them were no secret at all.

An Ning had never intended to hide. Her brazen actions had indeed infuriated many people.

Both those in the world of Mysticism and those outside of it.

After Mr. Hao found the people behind this, he reported An Ning’s demands.

The three factions behind him gathered to discuss countermeasures.

No one who had reached this level was simple.

And none of them were willing to give up the prize they had in their grasp. A fight was absolutely necessary.

The Mystic Master currently lying on the ground was the first. His defeat, while a fact, was within expectations and not a surprise.

The second wave of people arrived soon after.

But the person in the second wave didn’t expect to fall into a trap the moment he stepped within a twenty-meter radius of An Ning.

"How is that possible? When did you set up this formation?"

"Oh, I just set it up casually. It’s nothing special."

An Ning replied coolly. Zhao Pandi went forward to tie the person up, and there was one more body on the ground.

"Now?"

An Ning looked at Zhao Pandi, then at the ground. "We wait for someone to come rescue the two of them."

"Hahaha, so we’re baiting the reinforcements?"

"Something like that. I was inspired by a children’s story. A cow accidentally swallowed a fly, so it ate a frog to eat the fly, then a lizard to eat the frog... Anyway, one after another, an endless stream."

The two of them chatted leisurely, not looking the least bit afraid.

Soon enough, a third wave really did arrive.

But once again, they failed to get past An Ning’s formation and were tied up by Zhao Pandi. There was another person on the ground.

When the fourth person arrived, he first started yelling that An Ning had no honor and challenged her to fight without using a formation if she had any real skill.

With a wave of her hand, An Ning dismantled the formation. In the single motion of rising to her feet, she had the man under control.

The corners of her clothes fluttered without any wind, making her look just like a reclusive master from the movies.

At this moment, there were now four people on the ground.

Soon, the fifth wave arrived.

This time, the other side was the one with no honor, because three of them came at once.

But An Ning just smiled faintly and said casually, "It doesn’t matter. It’s all the same no matter how many come."

"Are you going to sit down on your own, or shall I invite you to sit down?"

In the palm of An Ning’s hand, a White Jade Round Plate suddenly appeared, hovering in mid-air and emitting its own unique glow.

"The Mystical Sect’s Holy Object?"

"Who are you? Why do you have the Mystical Sect’s Holy Object?"

"What about Mr. Shou’an?"

Hearing Mr. Shou’an’s name so unexpectedly, An Ning gave the speaker a second look.
