Chapter 536: Chapter 503: Each Gets What They Need (Part 2)
Later, a Pill Master discovered that adding it to elixirs that enhanced cultivation could double their medicinal effects.
Furthermore, it could greatly delay the onset of Elixir Resistance.
Normally, the medicinal efficacy would decrease after consuming five elixirs in a row. However, if Rejuvenating Holy Water was added to the alchemy ingredients, one could consume at least ten.
However, the Early-Stage Nascent Soul realm was the limit; it had no such effect on those at higher realms.
Bai Zichen’s immense interest in the Rejuvenating Holy Water was, of course, not because he was thinking of performing alchemy himself.
Never mind that he had no Pill Formulas or Spirit Grass; even if he did, the time it would take to learn Alchemy from scratch was far too great.
It was all because a record in the Jade Scroll from the Hundred Skills Sect stated that when Rejuvenating Holy Water was mixed with Earth Spirit Milk in a one-to-one ratio, its efficacy would be completely transformed.
Each drop could save an Early-Stage Nascent Soul Cultivator ten years of arduous cultivation. An annotation followed from Xin Youhuang of the Hundred Skills Sect, who noted that he had yet to acquire any Rejuvenating Holy Water and thus could not verify the claim.
But in terms of alchemical theory, it was logically consistent and highly feasible.
This entry was only a few dozen characters long, but because it concerned enhancing one’s cultivation, Bai Zichen remembered it vividly.
’It’s just the Rejuvenating Holy Water, not a finished elixir. Five Top-Grade Spirit Stones is too expensive... Let’s say four. I still need to find someone to perform the alchemy and gather the Spirit Grass. Every step will be costly.’
Bai Zichen didn’t know the market price for Rejuvenating Holy Water. From his perspective, as long as it truly had the uses recorded in the scroll, he would have taken it even if it were twice as expensive.
To him, nothing was more important than being able to rapidly enhance his cultivation.
Still, he had to bargain at least once, lest he appear too desperate for the Rejuvenating Holy Water and give something away.
"Alright."
The Deity of the Moon nodded lightly, her agreement just as prompt.
"I’ll raise my offer. Let’s value this batch of Celestial Star Silver Sand at two Top-Grade Spirit Stones. Fellow Daoist Ziwei, you only need to pay the remainder."
Tiann Xiang Star Monarch chimed in, apparently worried the other two would bypass him and make a direct deal.
He had actually taken the initiative to raise the price on top of the original offer.
Bai Zichen smiled faintly. He could certainly produce four Top-Grade Spirit Stones, but there was no need to offend the other Star Lords at their very first gathering.
From what he’d seen at this gathering, the other Star Lords all possessed many fine things. In the future, the Star Palace could easily become a trading channel for him.
After all, he didn’t come from a Central Domain Major Sect. When it came to trading with others and purchasing Treasures, he was always a step behind.
Using the Star Palace as a channel was not only more effective than appearing in person, but it was also highly secretive, ensuring the other party would never know whose hands the Treasure ultimately fell into.
Besides, a Spiritual Material like Celestial Star Silver Sand was already useless to him, so he might as well do someone a favor.
"Here is the Celestial Star Silver Sand, and here are the remaining two Top-Grade Spirit Stones... Fellow Daoists, the transaction is complete. Please take your items."
Bai Zichen pushed the Yellow Gourd filled with Celestial Star Silver Sand toward Tiann Xiang Star Monarch, while also placing two Water Element Top-Grade Spirit Stones on the table to make up the total.
He, in turn, took the round-bodied Jade Bottle, which felt heavy and substantial in his hand.
The three of them, each having gotten what they wanted, all sat down in satisfaction.
When it was Jumeng Star Monarch’s turn, he immediately stated his desire to purchase a Tier Four Flying Sword.
Judging by the reactions of the others, this was not the first time he had made this request.
Tier Four Flying Swords were not so easily obtained. What’s more, everyone in the Star Palace was a Sword Cultivator; even if they did obtain a Tier Four Flying Sword, they would keep it for their own use, not put it up for trade.
From Jumeng Star Monarch’s demeanor, Bai Zichen surmised that he must come from a noble background and had been coddled since childhood.
In the real world, he was likely someone whom no one dared to defy, the center of everyone’s attention. He must have reached the Nascent Soul realm at a young age—another young prodigy.
’Han Chaoran? Or Gu Chongxuan? No, those two are the undisputed next Sword Masters of their respective Sword Sects. They would have been granted legacy Flying Swords long ago, so it’s impossible for them to have such an obsession with a Tier Four Flying Sword... Of course, it’s also possible that under their identities as Star Lords, they can’t use their Sect’s legacy swords, which is why they’re so desperate to obtain another one.’
Bai Zichen mulled over Jumeng Star Monarch’s true identity, but after running through the possibilities, he found there were too many potential candidates and gave up.
He gave a wry smile to himself. ’Perhaps the other Star Monarchs are speculating about me in the same way.’
After all, according to Po Jun Star Monarch, the Ziwei Star Monarch was only a step away from the Sword Light Division realm, someone who could reach that goal in a short time.
Not even the Cultivation Realm’s famous "Shuang Xuan" would dare to make such a boast.
A bold claim like that would certainly pique everyone’s curiosity even more.
Once news of his great victory over Xiang Banshan spread throughout the Central Domain, he would be added to the list of suspects.
What followed was a stretch of innocuous chatter, mostly led by Po Jun Star Monarch with the others occasionally chiming in.
Finally, after setting a time for their next gathering, they prepared to leave the Star Palace Secret Realm one by one.
"I wish you a smooth breakthrough, Taiyin. May you become the Star Palace’s first Mid-Stage Nascent Soul cultivator!"
Po Jun Star Monarch stood and performed an ancient salute, speaking with great solemnity.
The others followed suit, all offering their blessings to the Deity of the Moon.
"My aptitude for the Sword Dao is mediocre, so I can only prioritize my realm," the Deity of the Moon replied. "All of you, my fellow Daoists, possess talent far superior to mine; you are simply taking the time to prepare thoroughly before making your breakthroughs."
The Deity of the Moon turned and gathered her skirts in a curtsy, a pearl-and-jade hairpin in her coiled hair swaying back and forth.
After the other three Star Lords had left, only Bai Zichen and Po Jun Star Monarch remained in the hall.
"Fellow Daoist Ziwei, this is the Taibai Sword Pill I promised you. I hope it can lend you a hand in walking the final steps of Refining Sword into Silk. There are tens of thousands of palaces and buildings in this secret realm. The vast majority are in ruins, but a small portion remain intact and can still function, with their basic Forbidden still running."
Po Jun Star Monarch tossed over a rust-spotted Sword Pill without a hint of hesitation.
"Once you complete the Refinement of the mask, you’ll be able to control the Forbidden here. You can find a place and use it as a Spirit Land to stay and cultivate your Sword Dao."
The Taibai Sword Pill was a supreme treasure for any Sword Cultivator.
That Po Jun Star Monarch could resist the temptation and hand over the Sword Pill without any extra conditions left him slightly surprised.
"Rest assured, Fellow Daoist. I will make good use of the Sword Pill and strive to reach the Sword Light Division realm as soon as possible."
What Po Jun Star Monarch had suggested was exactly what Bai Zichen had been thinking.
The concentration of Spiritual Qi in the Star Palace Secret Realm was not much less than on Flame Mountain, enough to be considered a Tier Four Spirit Land.
It was also secret and safe, a perfect place to cultivate and consolidate everything he had learned.
Achieving Sword Light Division was extremely important, both from a personal standpoint and for fulfilling the Star Palace members’ wish to open the secret realm’s core.
If he could master Sword Light Division, his power would leap to a new level.
If he were to face an opponent on the level of Xiang Banshan again, the fight would not have to be so perilous.
Moreover, he was extremely curious about what legacy of the Taibai Sword Sect was hidden in the core of this secret realm.
"One more thing. Only I know your true identity. The others see the Ziwei Star Monarch as just an ordinary True Monarch, so their words might be offensive at times... I trust you are magnanimous, Fellow Daoist, and hope you won’t hold it against them."
Po Jun Star Monarch hesitated for a moment but decided to say it anyway.
"Don’t worry. I won’t take such trivial matters to heart."
Bai Zichen waved his hand dismissively, putting the other man’s mind at ease.
Po Jun Star Monarch breathed a sigh of relief. He shared a few more common facts about the Star Palace Secret Realm, then cast a spell to exit.
’It seems entering and exiting the secret realm takes a fair amount of time, so using it to escape during a crisis is out of the question...’
Bai Zichen muttered to himself as he watched Po Jun Star Monarch’s form take a dozen or so breaths’ worth of time to vanish completely.
Moreover, entering and exiting the secret realm was essentially opening a path through the void into a small world. If a Void Spiritual Treasure like the Exquisite Primordial Pagoda were activated, it would very likely seal the void, making passage impossible.
Furthermore, wherever one entered the Star Palace Secret Realm from, one would reappear in the exact same spot upon exiting.
If an enemy discovered this, they could easily lie in wait, setting up an Array at the entry point and leaving you with no room to escape.
Bai Zichen sat back down at the base of the Taiyin Divine Statue.
「Three days later.」
A text titled the Taiyin True Heavenly Talisman Great Method materialized in his Sea of Consciousness.
The cultivation of this method was different from past Cultivation Techniques. It involved refining a Celestial Talisman, which would grow stronger throughout the cultivation process, its tier rising in tandem.
To cross the Divinity Transformation Celestial Chasm, one could rely on the power of the Celestial Talisman. Successfully forging a Tier Five Celestial Talisman would increase one’s chances of reaching the Divinity Transformation realm by ten percent.
As for its drawback, it had extremely high requirements for a Cultivator’s aptitude in the Talisman Dao.
Cultivating to the Divinity Transformation realm with this method meant that a Tier Five Talisman Master would be born at the same time.
For someone unversed in the Talisman Dao, cultivating the Taiyin True Heavenly Talisman Great Method would be an impossible task.
