Chapter 1360: Chapter 364: Second Stage of the Immortal Gate

Sitting in his own courtyard, Yuchi brewed himself a cup of tea.

The last time he stayed here was indeed the last time.

He thought about how he hadn’t lived in his mansion for a long while, always running around.

And now, sitting here again, memories of the family and its affairs resurfaced in Yuchi’s mind. Back then, he was busy with affairs in the town, and now matters have reached this point—Yuan’Er is already in the Immortal Robe Pavilion.

Xufu Town has also transformed into Jiangnan.

"It’s really great, looking forward to the day Jiangnan fully matures."

In his hand appears a painted card, looking at Yin Shuang in the painting, Yuchi misses him immensely. Although Yin Shuang hasn’t been gone long, running around alone afterward made him feel a certain emptiness.

"Last time it took half a year. I wonder how long this metamorphosis will take this time, perhaps even a year won’t be enough."

"But once Yin Shuang wakes up again, he should have grown quite a lot."

"When I first met him, he was hardly larger than the palm of my hand, about 20 centimeters high, much like the height of most figurines from a previous life. But after the first metamorphosis, he grew to almost half a meter."

"Then after this second metamorphosis and sedimentation, he might reach sixty to seventy centimeters."

"Not bad."

"We’ll see then; once Yin Shuang is taken care of, everything should be fine."

Thinking about this, a thought suddenly crossed Yuchi’s mind.

I can absolutely take a look at her in her second breakthrough.

The method is very simple, just skipping through the plot, and record the recent happenings like a diary. But, on second thought, Yin Shuang seems unwilling to let me do this, won’t allow me to skip the plot.

This is somewhat frustrating.

While Yuchi pondered whether to skip the plot, on the other side, three people were walking through the mansion.

It was Yuchi’s second brother, his sister-in-law, and their child.

Walking inside the Wei Mansion, Wei Fei was still a bit nervous.

Speaking honestly.

He had always lived in the Yamen.

Though his younger brother seldom visited the Yamen, the frequency of visits was sometimes higher than returning home. So, they ought to meet often, but every time, various reasons led them to miss each other.

Just like during this period.

He left Jiangnan to assist the Imperial Decree Department in other cities, handling trivial documents, conveying Jiangnan’s regulations to other Departments. During this long absence, his younger brother returned, yet he never had the chance to meet properly.

Now that he finally returned and learned about this from the County Magistrate or his father-in-law, he must see his younger brother. Otherwise, who knows when he’ll get another chance.

After such a long time apart, his heart feels a bit tense.

Though bound by blood, the extended absence coupled with his brother’s significant influence in Jiangnan makes meeting feel quite daunting, as if it’s purposeful, quite uncomfortable.

"Are you ready?" Wei Fei cautiously asked.

He returned in a bit of a hurry, only changing his clothes, and his wife and child are unaware of the specifics, only hearing that the third brother has returned, without knowing exactly where he is.

Wei nodded, looking at the little girl beside her: "We should be ready, no need to worry too much, after all, you are brothers, and our child is his niece. There shouldn’t be any issue."

Wei Fei pondered a moment, saying as they walked: "There shouldn’t be any issues. My brother has always been warm-hearted, so there’s no need to worry about that. But having not spoken for so long, figuring out how to start the conversation is another matter."

Of course, he had something left unsaid, regarding little Ximo.

Little Ximo was originally his daughter, but upon learning she’s not his biological child, coupled with having his own offspring, he gradually neglected her presence. Yet his brother is very fond of little Ximo, which he didn’t mention.

Standing from this perspective, it seems a bit unkind.

Ugh.

Annoyed.

Beside her father, the little one doesn’t know what’s happening. She only heard they were visiting her third uncle, but isn’t sure what he looks like, just overhearing from the maids that he is very impressive, so though she doesn’t understand much, there’s a certain anticipation in her heart.
