Infinite Rebate System: Beautiful Women And Endless Returns
Chapter 137: A Chill Morning
Xavier woke up at exactly 7:23AM.
The suite was quiet. The particular quiet of a space that had been designed to absorb sound from the city outside and had done its job through the night. The floor to ceiling windows were showing the early morning version of Millhaven. Grey light, the city not yet committed to the day, the kind of Saturday morning that hadn’t decided what it was going to be yet.
He lay still for a moment.
The bed sheets were the kind that cost enough to feel the cost. White. Heavy. The particular weight of quality linen that hadn’t been bought to impress but because someone had decided that if you were going to sleep somewhere you should sleep properly.
Selene was beside him.
Still asleep. Hair loose against the pillow. Different from every version of her he’d catalogued since the sixth floor of Hale & Associates. Not the professional pulled back version. Not the down for a Thursday evening version. Just her being herself. The particular unguarded quality of someone deeply asleep in a warm room with no reason to be anywhere yet.
Both of them under the sheet. The suite warm around them.
Millhaven, Xavier thought. On a Saturday morning.
He checked his phone quietly without moving.

$19,071,733, he noted. Clean Saturday start.
Then the second notification.

Favorability Update
Selene Adler — 60% → 74%
[ Intermediate Bond Range ]
74%, he thought.
He looked at the number for a moment.
Fourteen percent overnight, he thought. From 60 to 74. He looked at Selene still asleep beside him. The gauge catching up to something that had been building since the lift doors opened on the sixth floor and she looked up and registered me for the first time.
Then the third notification.
[DING]
[ REBATE SYSTEM ]
Binding Available — Selene Adler
Current Favorability: 74%
Binding Mechanics: 3x weekly targeted spend + 2x base = 5x effective return
Weekly Activation: Once per week
[ Third Binding ]
[ Accept / Later ]
Xavier looked at the notification.
Third binding, he thought. Amira was the first. Sarah was the second. Probably terminated after the Reckoning. Selene is the third.
He thought about it properly. Not the mechanics, he understood the mechanics. The question underneath the mechanics.
Amira, he thought. Maximum Bond. 100% favorability. The research trust. Four months of genuine consistent presence. The binding happened because it was already real before the system confirmed it.
Sarah, he thought. The binding was always strategic. It served a purpose. It ended when the purpose ended.
Selene, he thought. 74%. Millhaven. A Friday evening in a presidential suite with the city outside the floor to ceiling windows. He looked at her profile against the pillow. Different from both of the previous ones.
Not Maximum Bond, he thought. 74% is real but it’s not everything yet. There’s more to build. He looked at the notification. But the binding makes the returns work whether the favorability is at 74% or 100%.
And the returns, he thought. At 5x effective on targeted weekly spend — the investment mechanics change significantly with a third binding active.
He pressed Accept.

Binding Confirmed — Selene Adler
[ Third Binding Active ]
Weekly targeted spend: 3x return
Combined with base 2x: 5x effective
[ Current Active Bindings: ]
Amira Hassan — Maximum Bond — 6x permanent
Selene Adler — Standard Binding — 5x effective
He’d had three bindings up until now, he thought. Amira at 6x. Selene at 5x. Sarah terminated. He closed the notification. The system is building something. Has been building something since the train platform.
I just have to keep moving, he thought.
He set the phone face down on the nightstand.
Looked at the ceiling.
Saturday in Millhaven, he thought. Two acquisitions to process. Mission at $1,922,505 of $3,000,000. $1,077,495 remaining. He did the math. One good day of Tier 3 cap and the mission closes. Then whatever comes after the mission closes.
Selene stirred beside him.
Not fully awake. The particular small movement of someone drifting toward consciousness without committing to it. She shifted. The sheet moving with her. She settled again.
Xavier watched her without moving.
74%, he thought. From 2% at the lift.
Different journey from Amira, he thought. Amira was always genuine from the start. Direct, present, no performance. Selene came with layers. The office line cover. The professional distance. The composed surface doing its work. He looked at her. And underneath all of it, the person who walked through her city yesterday in flat shoes and stopped outside a restaurant she used to feel like she was trespassing in.
That version, he thought. That’s the 74%.
Selene opened her eyes.
She looked at the ceiling first. Then at the windows. The Saturday morning Millhaven light. Then she turned her head and looked at Xavier.
For a moment neither of them said anything.
She’s doing the same thing I was doing, Xavier thought. Reading the morning. Deciding what it is.
"Morning," she said finally. Her voice carrying the particular texture of someone recently awake.
"Morning," he replied.
She looked at the ceiling again. Then back at him.
"What time is it," she said.
"7:30," he said.
She processed that. Looked at the windows again.
"It’s Saturday," she said.
"Yes," he said.
"In Millhaven," she said.
"Yes," he replied.
She was quiet for a moment. The suite warm around them. The city outside doing its Saturday thing.
"Xavier," she said.
"Selene."
"Are we still staying a few more days?." she asked. A straightforward question.
"Yes," he said.
She nodded once. The particular nod of someone who had made a decision in the night and was confirming it in the morning.
"Okay," she said. Just that.
She closed her eyes again.
Not going back to sleep. Just lying there with the particular ease of someone who had nowhere to be at 7:30AM on a Saturday in a hotel suite and had decided to inhabit that fact properly.
Xavier looked at the ceiling.
Third binding active, he thought. Mission at $1,922,505. Two acquisitions today. Cap at $2,000,000.
But first, he thought.
Saturday morning, he thought. Nowhere to be.
He closed his eyes too.
One thing at a time, he thought.
Always one thing at a time.

$15,400, he noted without opening his eyes. Every day. While I sleep.
Finally, he thought. Tier 3 mechanics kicking off fully.
Different tier, he thought. Different ball game.
