Chapter 94 - 84: Slaying Falin
Chapter 94: Chapter 84: Slaying Falin
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Two figures clashed. Each impact destroyed the surrounding area as shockwaves spread, dust and sand flew, and the deafening roar sounded like exploding missiles.
The residents nearby heard the commotion but couldn’t pinpoint the combatants. They were moving too fast, one moment on this street, the next clashing in a park on the other side, leaving only a trail of terrifying destruction in their wake.
At this moment, Falin was completely on the defensive.
He barely managed to block Zhang Ji’s punches. His original plan was to suppress Zhang Ji on the spot, cripple him, and drag him away. But now, all he could think about was escape.
He couldn’t believe it, couldn’t accept it.
In such a short time, he had actually been surpassed by Zhang Ji.
Before, Zhang Ji had given his all just to barely escape with his life.
But now, even with all his strength, he was no match for Zhang Ji.
Strength, speed—in every aspect, he was outmatched.
He could only be continuously pushed back by Zhang Ji.
’If this keeps up, I’m going to die!’
The threat of death loomed over him.
Falin’s mindset had completely changed.
His arrogance, his pride—all of it was being shattered by Zhang Ji’s fists.
CRACK! BOOM!
Zhang Ji smashed a Dragon Fist against Falin’s forearms. Falin used the momentum to launch himself away, a fiery red light enveloping him as he shot into the distance.
"Run? You think you can get away?"
Zhang Ji sneered. A deep blue Yuan Qi enveloped his body as he shot forward, even faster than Falin.
Falin sensed Zhang Ji in pursuit. He leaped onto a building and, within a few bounds, quickly distanced himself through the complex streets.
Zhang Ji was just as agile, leaping dozens of meters at a time, his climbing speed far exceeding Falin’s.
Despite using the terrain to his advantage, Falin still couldn’t completely shake Zhang Ji’s pursuit.
Soon, Zhang Ji closed in.
He spread his arms, his body gliding like a white crane, and with a sweep of his hand, a fierce wind stirred.
Falin spun around, red light gathering as he threw a punch.
BOOM!
CRACK!
BANG!
The moment they clashed, a violent explosion erupted, shattering the glass of nearby buildings. Falin, focused solely on escaping, used the recoil from Zhang Ji’s attack to propel himself toward the city center and its taller skyscrapers.
Zhang Ji looked up, saw the great sun hanging in the sky, and understood his opponent’s plan.
’He wants to use the sun’s energy to fuel his bloodline power!’
’But it’s useless. The gap in our strength is absolute.’
In the city center, one red and one blue figure zipped rapidly between the skyscrapers, occasionally colliding with an explosive sound.
This drew the attention of countless people.
Many took out their phones to film, but they couldn’t capture a clear image of the two figures.
Zhang Ji knew that after this battle, his true strength would likely be exposed.
But he didn’t care.
Once you reached this level of power, many so-called "troubles" were no longer troublesome.
In fact, he hoped to crush Falin right here and now.
They were already mortal enemies. Last time, he’d been forced to flee for his life. This time, Falin had severely injured so many disciples of the Five Elements Sect right off the bat.
No matter what, Zhang Ji wouldn’t let Falin live to cause him more trouble.
BOOM!
The roar sounded again as Zhang Ji used a Wind God Kick, sending Falin flying high into the air.
Falin’s arms were trembling.
But he didn’t dare turn and fight Zhang Ji head-on. He had to escape to the highest point; only there would he have a chance to survive, or even turn the tables!
Finally, with a few leaps, he landed on the tower crane of a skyscraper under construction.
The corner of Zhang Ji’s mouth curled up in a cold smile. "Get the hell down from there!"
BOOM!
Zhang Ji blasted out his blue Yuan Qi, which collided with the tower crane’s metal structure. In an instant, the crane’s steel frame was destroyed, bending in the middle before collapsing.
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!
The tower crane toppled, smashing through concrete structures and crashing to the ground with a tremendous noise.
Fortunately, this was a construction site, and it was after work hours, so no one was around. If this had happened in a crowded part of the city, at least a dozen lives would have been lost.
Before the crane collapsed, Falin leaped off it and landed on the rooftop of the skyscraper under construction.
With a few bounds, Zhang Ji also reached the rooftop.
Bathed in the sunlight, Zhang Ji felt quite comfortable.
Across from him, Falin had stopped moving.
The sunlight around him seemed to dim as he absorbed and gathered it, dyeing his form a golden-red.
"You sinner who blasphemes the Divine Blood! You have no idea what the blood in your veins means. The power of a god is wasted on you!" Falin said.
"Dumbass!" Zhang Ji said succinctly.
Falin didn’t understand the word’s meaning, as Zhang Ji had spoken in the language of the Eastern Extreme Country.
Nothing in his own Guning tongue taught him how to curse someone so crudely; the worst insult would be to compare him to some stupid animal.
But Zhang Ji felt that didn’t quite hit the mark. "Dumbass" was just more direct.
However, even though he didn’t understand, Falin felt the profound insult.
"Die, you blasphemous sinner!" Falin roared.
He raised his arms high, palms facing each other. A massive amount of energy gathered, forming a golden-red ball of light between his hands.
Zhang Ji sensed the threat. He brought his palms together in front of his chest, likewise gathering a ball of blue light.
WHOOSH—BOOM!
ROAR! BOOM!
The golden-red ball of light and a deep blue Divine Dragon shot out almost simultaneously.
The two different energy attacks collided, furiously tearing each other apart.
CRACK! RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!
A terrifying shockwave radiated from the center. The skyscraper under construction began to crumble, sending concrete fragments flying in all directions. A violent, scorching blast wave, like a powerful hurricane, swept outward.
An area with a radius of over ten meters, centered on the point of impact, was completely pulverized.
When everything settled, a massive hole had been blown through the top two floors of the skyscraper, and the surrounding area was covered in signs of destruction.
Down below, at the base of the building, Falin lay collapsed on the ground, barely able to move.
He had used all of his bloodline power in that one attack, even borrowing the sun’s light. It was his absolute limit.
As a result, he had no way to withstand the aftershock and was blown away, sent plummeting from the rooftop.
Just then, he saw a figure suddenly descend from the sky.
Zhang Ji strode toward Falin and said, "Trying to have a beam battle with me? What an idiot!"
"Blasphemer... The royal family won’t let you get away with..."
BOOM!
A blast of blue Yuan Qi shot out, enveloping Falin’s head.
When the light faded, Falin’s entire head had vanished. A deep crater marked the spot, leaving behind a headless corpse.
Zhang Ji felt the roughly thirty percent of his Yuan Qi remaining and remarked with a sigh, "Too little time to charge. I only used seventy percent of my power for that Divine Dragon Wave. Otherwise, I should’ve been able to overwhelm him with the blast and kill him outright, without needing to come down and finish the job."
Although the amount of his Yuan Qi was immense, there was still a limit to its output rate.
To instantly mobilize one hundred percent of his Yuan Qi and unleash a full-power ultimate move, he still needed to continue strengthening his Spirit and physical attributes.
A strong enough body could contain more Yuan Qi, and a strong enough Spirit could mobilize more energy in an instant.
Still, an ultimate move like that was more than enough.
Falin’s desperate, last-ditch move, even with the terrain advantage, had been nullified by him directly.
Under normal circumstances, few B-rank fighters could have blocked that Divine Dragon Wave without injury.
Zhang Ji crouched down and searched Falin’s clothes.
There wasn’t much inside—some coins and a cell phone.
But the phone had been shattered in the intense battle, and the money was ruined.
Zhang Ji was a little disappointed he didn’t get any rewards from looting the corpse.
In the game, he would have gotten a Skill Book after a fight like this.
This was where reality differed from a game.
Zhang Ji could already hear the wail of police sirens. There was no way a fight this loud would go unnoticed.
However, Zhang Ji had no intention of dealing with law enforcement. With a single movement, he took a few leaps and disappeared between the skyscrapers.
A short time later, police cars arrived nearby. After a drone reconnaissance flight revealed Falin’s body, personnel gradually moved in to secure the scene.

「Meanwhile, at the World Fighter Association headquarters.」
The association’s president, Orlando Parkson, had already received news of the battle between Zhang Ji and Falin in the city.
He had immediately checked relevant surveillance footage and other data, obtaining a fairly accurate identity analysis.
"It’s confirmed. It should be this year’s Spring Tournament champion, Zhang Ji," Valentina said. "He probably suppressed his strength to compete. No wonder he won the championship so easily. He’s already an Ascended-rank fighter."
"Has the deceased been identified?" Orlando asked.
"According to an identity check from the airport, he appears to be from Guning Country..." Valentina replied.
"Guning Country? With that kind of power? Could he be a Sun Guard? How did they get mixed up in this?"
Orlando couldn’t quite figure it out, but it wasn’t important.
As long as an outstanding fighter like him came to Lanz and joined the association, he would be one of them. His past would be wiped clean.
"Have the guards come up with an excuse to fool the public. Say it was a gas explosion," Orlando said. "Also, contact Zhang Ji. Make a gesture of goodwill. Tell him we’ll help clean up this mess so he doesn’t have to worry about any subsequent retaliation from Guning Country."
"Shouldn’t we use this as an opportunity to make him join us permanently?" Valentina asked.
"If he wanted to join, he would have done so already. Since he didn’t choose to join us directly, he must have his own plans. There’s no need to force him. It’s enough to make a friend and ensure he doesn’t become an enemy. Of course, you can still extend an invitation. We can offer him the position of a branch president," Orlando said.
"Understood." Valentina nodded, then added, "By the way, the master sent word earlier. He said we can begin sending out letters to build hype for the Ultimate Fighting tournament."
"Isn’t that still two years away?" Orlando frowned.
"The world is vast. The master doesn’t want too few people to show up. We need a world-class spectacle to witness his ascension to the throne," Valentina replied.
Her wine-red eyes stared at Orlando, as if judging his loyalty.
Orlando was unconcerned by Valentina’s scrutiny. In the past, he had indeed thought of challenging that man.
But after their one exchange, he understood that the gap between them was far, far greater than he had ever imagined. A hundred, even a thousand of himself would be no match for him.
"I will inform Ymir and the others to get it done. I’ll ensure that the top fighters from every country will be in attendance," Orlando nodded.
