Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items
Chapter 409: Diagnosis -2
[Warning! Energy nodes are being violated by divine essence rampage!]
[Warning! Energy nodes have suffered fatal damage!]
[Warning! Your mind is being eroded by an outside force...]
[Title "Charmed But Unfazed" has been activated!]
[Error! Error! Title effects have failed to resist outside influence! Your psyche is being ripped apart!]
[The weapon spirit of the divine weapon Solaris Arc Bow has rebelled against the user!]
[Inventory access has been restored!]
[Divine weapon has been automatically unequipped!]
[Warning! The blight corruption rages through your vulnerable soul!]
[Your body has been contaminated, the silver genes have been forced into a dormant state!]
Seth’s hands trembled, his breath faint as he continued to read with a heavy heart.
His stomach knotted as he read through each notification block.
It only continued downhill from there, the more he read the more he understood why his current situation was as it was.
The world essence might have been able to revive him and erase his critical injuries, but damage of this level... could it even be healed properly?
He continued to read, and it was only notification after notification detailing how critical his situation was becoming.
Until finally a reprieve among the sea of bad news...
[Congratulations, you have completed Abyssal Zone Quest: Survive!]
[Calculating rewards...]
[Congratulations, you have received: Weapon Soul-Rending Dagger...]
Seth’s mouth twitched, too bad he wasn’t in a state where he could be excited.
Seeing this reward barely stirred anything in his heart.
His current situation wouldn’t allow him to, and besides, he had still yet to get a concrete diagnosis.
[Congratulations! Humanity has completed its hidden condition!]
[The Jinn Race has been exterminated!] [Providence of the Jinn’s has been overwhelmed!]
[Error! The Jinn race providence failed to initiate a Fate Challenge!]
[The fortune of the Jinn’s is being assimilated by the human race!]
[Congratulations! Humanity has awakened a binding stat: Essence!]
His brow lifted slightly, hearing about it and seeing it really didn’t provoke different levels of emotion.
Despite his depressed state he couldn’t help but feel a hint of pride.
While some would feel guilty, after all this notification was practically congratulating them for committing genocide.
Seth couldn’t care less, this was a world of eat or be eaten.
If given the chance, the flame dragons, the fey and the Jinn wouldn’t have hesitated to do the same.
It was called survival of the fittest for a reason, and regardless of the circumstances Seth couldn’t bring himself to feel the victor’s guilt.
Alas, despite scrolling for a few more seconds, it became obvious that there was nothing noteworthy anymore.
He frowned, no notification detailing his current state...
He began to scroll back upwards, scrutinizing the notifications more clearly, hoping to piece a clue from the little info he had.
He needed to understand what went wrong while he was recovering...
After all, only by knowing could he possibly begin to piece together a solution.
Alas, he still couldn’t understand where his regeneration process went wrong...
Could it be that his World Saint title effect was strong enough to heal his pathways?
Could it be that there was a defect after the regeneration process?
He couldn’t know, unless he asked for help, he couldn’t even perform a self-diagnosis, and when Uriel had helped him check with essence tracing...
His friend still wasn’t able to detect a problem, aside from the fact that his nodes were completely dry, they weren’t able to discover the root cause.
Seth frowned, a muscle ticking in his jaw, and massaged his forehead as though trying to banish a headache.
He walked away from the window and headed back to the bed.
He sat, closing his eyes and focusing intensely, and was relieved to see he could still access his inventory.
Though it seemed there was a limit on the level of items he would be able to equip.
But fortunately the item he needed was accessible...
A flash of green bled into the room, as space fluctuated giving way to an emerald floating orb, flickering with brilliant shades of green.
Seth stared at the oracle orb, a flutter of nerves in his chest.
He took a deep breath as the orb pulsated in silence.
Steeling his nerves, he posed his request instantly, "Oracle, take a scan of my body and see if you can tell what’s wrong with me."
The orb just hovered flashing as it processed the request.
Seth’s fingers drummed against his knee, ’I mean, it could scan terrains in search of resources, this shouldn’t be a problem, right?’
[Understood...]
The familiar emotionless robotic voice rang in his head, putting Seth’s mind at ease.
A pulse of radiance beamed from the orb, washing down on him, he could almost feel the faint heat brought by the fluorescent lights of green seep into his skin.
The feeling was exactly like undergoing a mental inspection from another evolver.
Itchy and uncomfortable, but he bore with it...
The silence ticked for long, the discomfort sat for even longer.
Seth could feel the rhythm of his heart spike, the fear getting better of him.
He swallowed silently, watching as the oracle crystal took its sweet time processing the information it had gathered.
In that split second he could already imagine all the scenarios in his head.
What if his condition really wasn’t curable?
What would he do then?
Would this life even be worth living?
Could he really stand a reality where his father, his siblings, Kylie and his friends, everyone, left him behind?
The insecurity sunk deep into his now fragile psyche.
His mouth went dry from the constant nervous swallowing.
And finally the oracle beamed, its voice ringing loud in his mind.
His breath practically caught as he listened in...
The scene shifts to the bottom of the sea, far away from land, at the point once known as Point Nemo.
Deep in the darkness of the boundless ocean, a gleaming temple sat, flickering with a seven-colored gleam.
This was the grand mysterious Temple of the Seven Deadly Sins.
One of, if not the most elusive place on the planet.
Countless experts had sought its mysteries but none had ever succeeded.
The temple was a prestigious hall that functioned like a divine palace with a mind of its own.
And today, the grand door that refused to open for anyone swung wide open.
A loud resonance boomed through the vast waters, the sound so loud and the vibration so intense that it echoed far and wide despite the depths.
The grand doors swung open, revealing seven grand pillars, each representing a distinct sin, each glowing in its own shade, gleaming in the dark as they towered.
And among the seven only one gleamed, a brilliant shade of jade engulfing the zone, towering and tearing through the body of water, shooting straight into the sky.
From all around the world, powerful figures all turned towards the same direction, their bodies stiffening.
Greed!
The sin of Greed was opening its doors to choose an incarnate!
Far in the city of Atlantis, Neptune sighed, staring into the sky as he muttered grimly, "Alas, it begins..."
