Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 275: Becoming the God of Cuisine’s Beloved! Magic Cuisine
Chapter 275: Chapter 275: Becoming the God of Cuisine’s Beloved! Magic Cuisine
An androgynous voice, seeming to emanate from the very end of time and space, echoed forth.
The sound resounded directly in the deepest corners of Seraphina Sullivan’s consciousness.
It was lazy and tinged with disdain.
"The scent of the Power of the Beloved... and from under that brute, the God of Magical Beasts? Tsk, what an... alluring Aura!"
The voice seemed to carry a hint of pickiness, like a Gourmand who had just caught the scent of a top-tier ingredient.
Immediately after, Seraphina Sullivan felt a gaze fall upon her.
It was a gaze that seemed to pierce through her flesh, her soul, and all her secrets.
"Oh? So you’re the lucky one who stumbled upon my recipe?"
The voice now held a barely perceptible hint of surprise.
"Hmm... but what’s with you, little girl? Your Level is so low, so how did you get tangled up in the Auras of so many different Divine beings?"
"Let me see... the Aura of a Beloved of that bully, the God of Slaughter, who knows nothing but killing? You’ve been to his Beloved’s Coliseum? Tsk tsk, you’re lucky to have made it back alive."
"Huh? And the Aura left behind by that sticky, disgusting fellow, the God of Corruption? How have you not been corrupted into a lunatic? Or devoured and turned into a pile of..."
"Tsk tsk, and even the Aura of that little girl, the newly ascended God of Freedom..."
The owner of the voice seemed to grow more and more astonished as they looked.
Finally, a hint of amusement crept in. "I really can’t tell if you have heaven-defying luck or are just cursed to the core..."
Seraphina: "..."
’I want to cry!’
’I really, really want to cry!’
To have a Divine being—a ’He’—comment on her trouble-magnet constitution right to her face... the feeling was absolutely awful!
"Whatever,"
The voice seemed too lazy to delve deeper, carrying a transcendent casualness.
"Since you obtained my recipe, it must be fate. Seeing as you’ve had such a... ’colorful’ life, I might as well give you a hand. It’d be a waste of my recipe if you got eaten like a snack next time."
Before the words had even faded.
A stream of light, formed purely from golden specks and a tantalizing aroma, separated from the blurry figure.
Like a gentle strand of rain, it softly entered the space between Seraphina’s eyebrows.
Seraphina felt a warm, immense Power instantly flow through her entire body.
It washed over every inch of her flesh and soul.
The fatigue from the continuous battles and using her compendium was swept away, and even her mind became clearer and more transparent than ever before.
A deeper, inexplicable "blessing" seemed to be branded into her very being.
After doing all this, the blurry figure seemed to yawn.
It remarked with a lazy sigh:
"Hmm... it seems those old geezers are starting to get active, impatiently placing their Chess Pieces one by one. Fine. How could I, the God of Cuisine, miss out on a banquet like this?"
The moment the voice faded,
the magnificent figure vanished as abruptly as it had appeared, dissipating without a trace.
The divine might and golden light that had filled the Space receded along with it.
Time resumed its flow.
"HAAH—!" Seraphina could move again. She instantly doubled over, gasping for breath.
The experience left her forehead beaded with cold sweat.
It was as if she had just been pulled back from the edge of a bottomless abyss.
The feeling of insignificance and suffocation from facing a supreme being left Seraphina with a lingering fear.
"What’s wrong?"
Sean Chandler’s concerned voice sounded from beside her.
He frowned slightly, looking at Seraphina’s sudden strange behavior with confusion in his eyes.
Seraphina asked, "You didn’t see it?"
"See what?"
Seraphina realized that Sean Chandler had been completely unaware of the Divine descent that had been powerful enough to freeze time and space!
"Never mind, it was nothing!"
However, Seraphina checked her own Player panel.
(PS: All Players have their own Player panel, which is different from the panel provided by the protagonist’s [Eye of Resume].)
[Player: Seraphina Sullivan] (Food God’s Favored)
[Talent:
1: Worker
2: Magic Cuisine (Power of the Beloved)]
[Level: Level 2]
[Items: None]
[Skills: Scavenger’s Farm, Quick Sewing, Sweet Fragrance, Scorching Hand, Bounce, Butcher’s Skill, Bird Manipulation Technique, Singing, Clean Bubble, Magic Scissors]
Seraphina saw that her stats had changed.
The most conspicuous change was a small emblem next to her name, which radiated a soft golden light and the tempting aroma of food.
It was a simple, stick-figure-style image of a chef’s hat crossed with a spoon.
Beside it was a clear label: [Food God’s Favored]
’So... I just became the Food God’s Favored just like that?’
Seraphina blinked, her mind still a bit dazed.
’Wasn’t that process a little too... casual?’
That Divine being had acted like they were just casually watering a blade of grass on the roadside.
But then, her gaze was firmly drawn to the Talent section.
Where there had only been [Worker], a brand new Talent now appeared, its font seeming to gleam with an oily sheen.
[Magic Cuisine]
She took a deep breath, focused her mind, and opened the detailed description for this Talent.
[Magic Cuisine: A Divine Magic of the God of Cuisine. Consumes stamina to turn any creature or item into a dish! A friendly reminder from the God of Cuisine: Even a God can be turned into a dish, as long as you have enough stamina! (Note: The transformation’s effect, stamina cost, and success rate are closely related to the target’s essence, Energy level, willpower, and the user’s conceptual understanding of ’cuisine’.)]
After reading the description, Seraphina’s mouth fell open wide enough to fit an egg.
This seemingly simple, almost playful description hid an effect so terrifying it sent a chill down her spine!
"It... it can turn any creature or item into a dish?! This Effect... it’s too terrifying!"
Seraphina muttered to herself, her voice filled with disbelief.
’Any creature... doesn’t that include humans, monsters, and even... the Divine?’
’Any item... does that mean even steel, rock, and intangible Energy can be "cooked"?’
This meant that from now on, her perception of the world might change completely.
A living person, in her eyes, might no longer be a person, but a piece of "potential ingredients."
An indestructible weapon might become an "edible metal biscuit."
This Ability fundamentally blurred the line between "food" and "non-food."
It was almost a distortion on a conceptual level!
The thought made Seraphina shudder.
This had already transcended the scope of a combat skill.
It was more like a Power that operated on a conceptual level, verging on a distortion of reality itself!
’Imagine it, facing an enemy and turning them into a piece of sizzling, greasy barbecue with a wave of your hand... The mental image was too gruesome to contemplate.’
"Utterly terrifying!" It was the only way Seraphina could describe the shock she felt.
However, her experience surviving the apocalypse allowed Seraphina to quickly calm down.
’The more powerful an Ability, the greater its limitations usually are.’
’An Effect this heaven-defying must have an astronomical cost!’
