Chapter 242: Chapter 242: Location Reveal, Live Broadcast

A furious roar.

Then, a powerfully built Lionman with a flowing mane strode out from behind the bushes, his steps heavy.

Its golden eyes immediately locked onto the Lizardman, who was searching for prey.

The atmosphere instantly crackled with tension!

"Hunter?"

Two distinctly different voices rang out at almost the same time, tinged with caution and hostility.

Up in the tree, Seraphina grew even more tense.

’If these two powerful creatures are both Hunters, my situation is even more dangerous!’

’The rules forbid killing members of the same faction.’

’There’s no reason for two Hunters to fight. They’ll probably team up to clear the board, or they’ll make me their primary target again.’

But a moment later, her worries vanished.

"Hunter? I’m here to kill Hunters!" the Lionman snarled, striking first.

It opened its gaping maw, a crimson light glowing deep in its throat.

A scorching Fireball instantly formed and shot straight toward the Lizardman!

The Lizardman sidestepped the attack. The Fireball slammed into the ground where it had just stood, blasting out a shallow, scorched crater and igniting the surrounding dead leaves.

"Hmph! So you’re a big kitty from the animal faction!"

The Lizardman sneered, a flash of greed in its eyes.

"I wonder what animal Ability you’ve been blessed with, big kitty? I hope your Ability is an interesting one!"

"You disgusting lizard! How dare you call me a big kitty? Die!"

Clearly enraged, the Lionman roared as it conjured an even larger Fireball and launched a more ferocious assault.

In an instant, Flame and claws intertwined. Roars and explosions filled the air as the two inhuman beings locked in a furious battle.

Seraphina knew this was a golden opportunity to escape!

Without another moment of hesitation, she used the cover of the dense foliage to slide silently down the other side of the canopy, moving like a true primate.

The moment she landed, she bolted in the opposite direction from the battle, not daring to look back.

’While they’re at each other’s throats, it’s now or never!’

Seraphina’s plan was perfect.

She would slip away unnoticed while the Lionman and the Lizardman were locked in combat.

Get away from the danger, find Sean Chandler, and figure out the rules.

But she had overlooked one thing. Or rather, she had underestimated the desire for "entertainment" held by the masterminds behind this Slaughter Game.

This wasn’t just a survival game; it was a bloody reality show for an audience of countless fanatics!

Plain old hiding and long, drawn-out chases clearly didn’t suit the appetites of the "honorable spectators."

Just as Seraphina began to think she was safe and prepared to explore deeper into the bizarre forest...

[VMMMM—!]

A cold, emotionless electronic voice, like a proclamation from a God, suddenly echoed across the sky above the entire hunting ground.

It reached the ears of every Tribute with perfect clarity:

[Slaughter Game Live Update: 104 Tributes have died! Remaining participants: 896!]

[To increase the entertainment value of the game, the "Ten-Minute Location Reveal" function will now be activated!]

’Location Reveal? What does that mean?’

Seraphina’s heart skipped a beat as a sudden, ominous premonition washed over her.

Before she could react, three immense, dazzling pillars of light—like spears of judgment—tore through the sky and slammed down to the earth!

Two of the pillars were a vibrant green—a color that should have represented life, but now seemed unbearably glaring. The third was a scarlet red, radiating danger and murderous intent.

’This is bad!’

Seraphina’s pupils contracted. She was horrified to find that one of the green pillars of light had descended perfectly upon her, enveloping her completely.

The light pierced through the dense canopy, illuminating her position like a stage in broad daylight, leaving her with nowhere to hide.

She instantly understood what "Location Reveal" meant.

’This is just a forced position reveal and a faction marker!’

She turned her head toward the direction of the battle.

Sure enough!

The Lionman and the Lizardman were each enveloped in a pillar of light as well.

The Lionman’s was green, and the Lizardman’s was red!

Red and green—a clear distinction between the two major factions: the Hunters and the Animals!

"Oh?"

The Lizardman paused its assault, tilting its head back to feel the red pillar of light.

Then, it cast a mocking and cruel gaze in Seraphina’s direction.

"Can’t hide that rabbit’s tail now. So that’s where you were... hiding in the tree! You’re a cunning little thing."

It had finally confirmed Seraphina’s previous hiding spot.

Seeing the green light on Seraphina—the same color as its own—the Lionman’s taut nerves relaxed a fraction.

’Facing one powerful Hunter is already forcing me to go all out. If some supposed ’ally’ with unknown motives decided to stab me in the back, I’d have no choice but to run.’

’At least now it’s clear this ’rabbit’ is on my side, for now.’

"Heh heh," the Lizardman chuckled, its focus returning to the Lionman. But it was clear that Seraphina was now within its sights as well.

"You don’t actually believe you can defeat me with the help of this little rabbit who’s good for nothing but running away, do you?"

Before the words had even faded, the Aura around the Lizardman shifted dramatically!

Its scales, already glinting with a cold light, seemed to have been injected with Energy. Their edges grew sharper and began to emit a low HUM.

"Scale Shot!"

It arched its body and, with a sharp cry, sent hundreds, even thousands, of razor-sharp scales erupting from its skin like a sudden storm.

Shrieking as they tore through the air, they descended upon the Lionman in an overwhelming wave!

The attack’s range was so vast, it even extended toward Seraphina in the distance!

The battle, which had paused briefly with the appearance of the light pillars, had now erupted once more with even greater intensity!

And Seraphina could no longer remain a bystander.

The three faction-marking pillars of light lasted for only a few seconds before dissipating as abruptly as they had arrived, vanishing as if they had never been there at all.

But this brief exposure had been more than enough.

For the Lizardman, it was enough time to lock onto Seraphina’s position and confirm the status of its main threat, the Lionman.

At that moment, the Lionman let out a roar of pain and fury.

The distance had been too short. Despite its desperate attempt to dodge, several sharp scales still embedded themselves deep in its chest and arm. Blood instantly stained its golden mane, its movements slowed noticeably, and its Aura fell into disarray.

Seraphina, however, thanks to the tenfold increase in reaction time and speed granted by her [Dreadful Upright Ape] Ability, had already evaded the moment the scales flew. She narrowly avoided the area of effect of the ranged assault.

But the billowing dust and the few scales that zipped past her body still made her heart pound with fear.

’No! I can’t let this continue!’

Seraphina’s mind raced as she analyzed the desperate situation.

’The Lionman is injured; it won’t last much longer. Once the Lizardman finishes it off, I’ll be the next target, no question! I have almost no way to attack besides [Fierce Kick]. If I just keep running, it’ll just wear me down and kill me in this forest!’
