Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 222: Regulations of the Vorlag City Safe Zone, Teleportation Dove Talent
Chapter 222: Chapter 222: Regulations of the Vorlag City Safe Zone, Teleportation Dove Talent
Hearing the noise outside, Seraphina Sullivan frowned slightly and propped herself up, confused.
"What’s happening outside? Why is it so noisy?"
Sean Chandler, who was beside her, also shook his head.
His face showed the same bewilderment. "Not sure. It just suddenly got rowdy."
He added, "But this is the newly established safe zone in Vorlag City, after all. There shouldn’t be any major trouble."
Seraphina Sullivan thought so too.
Suddenly, a series of knocks shattered the quiet inside the vehicle.
"KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!"
Seraphina Sullivan and Sean Chandler exchanged a look, both seeing the confusion in each other’s eyes.
Seraphina Sullivan assessed her physical condition.
Aided by the terrifying tenfold Recovery Power bonus from her [Dreadful Upright Ape] Title, combined with the healing salves, her once-severe injuries were now mostly healed. At the very least, she could move without any issues.
This hidden benefit of the Title made Seraphina feel a little more at ease.
She quickly straightened herself up to make sure she didn’t look too disheveled, then gestured for Sean to open the door.
As soon as the door opened, they saw a boy who looked to be about junior high school age.
He was wearing a cotton-padded coat, but his cheeks and ears had noticeable frostbite.
His eyes, however, were strikingly bright.
This surprised Seraphina. She didn’t understand why this boy was knocking on their RV.
Before Seraphina could ask, the boy, as if completing some kind of mission, quickly thrust a folded piece of paper into the hands of Seraphina, who was closest to the door!
Without even a glance at her reaction, he immediately turned and left.
Seraphina: ?
It was only then that Seraphina noticed the commotion outside wasn’t from a quarrel.
Instead, a large number of people had gathered and seemed to be in a heated discussion about something.
Seraphina unfolded the paper.
The first thing that caught her eye was the bolded title.
Temporary Management Rules and Regulations for Vorlag City Safe Zone One.
’So it’s the safe zone’s rules and regulations...’
Seraphina realized.
It seemed the commotion outside was caused by these regulations.
Soon, she overheard the conversations of people who had just arrived.
"I didn’t expect there to be a trading post here. I wonder what I can get for the liquor I’ve been saving."
"You can only get food through labor? So the safe zone doesn’t just hand out food for free!"
"There’s even a Player trading area? Should we go check it out? Maybe we can find out how to become a Player from them."
Under the light of the RV, Seraphina carefully examined the slightly coarse flyer in her hands.
The paper still smelled of wet ink, a clear sign that it had been printed in a hurry.
Seraphina began to read the safe zone’s rules and regulations, one by one.
1. Entry and Discipline: All personnel entering the safe zone must strictly abide by these regulations. Any serious violation—such as theft, robbery, intentional harm, or inciting rebellion—will be punished according to the severity of the offense once verified. Severe violators will be expelled from the safe zone.
2. Security Management: All forms of private fighting and public disturbances are strictly prohibited within the safe zone. In case of conflict, one may apply for arbitration by the safe zone’s security team.
3. Material Trading: An official trading market is established in the central plaza of the safe zone. Survivors are encouraged to exchange materials or trade using officially issued Contribution Points.
4. Labor and Distribution: Vorlag City Safe Zone One is under immense pressure for construction and survival and is in urgent need of all types of labor. All able-bodied survivors must participate in tasks organized by the safe zone, such as Wall reinforcement, area cleanup, material transport, and farming, to earn labor contributions. Daily basic food rations and essential living supplies will be strictly exchanged based on these contributions.
5. Player Zone: To facilitate communication and cooperation among Players, a "Player-Exclusive Area" has been designated on the east side of the safe zone’s trading area.
6. ...
Seraphina quickly scanned the document, understanding the situation.
The regulations were fairly detailed, but the format was a bit messy, and the phrasing of the articles felt rushed.
It was clearly a temporary set of rules, hastily implemented to deal with the current situation.
It was likely they would be amended later as the regulations were refined.
Her gaze lifted from the paper and she looked around.
Sure enough, she saw many young boys and girls weaving between the parked vehicles and tents, skillfully stuffing the same flyers into the hands of everyone they could reach.
Most of their small faces were red from the cold, but their eyes held an urgency to complete their task.
’Are these kids... handing out these flyers to earn the food the safe zone provides?’
Seraphina immediately understood their situation.
In this apocalypse, even children had to work for the basic necessities of survival.
And the safe zone didn’t just hand out food for free.
’It seems the safe zone might have a food shortage,’ she thought. ’Otherwise, they wouldn’t make people work for it.’
Just then, a rather loud male voice called out from the side:
"Hey! Over here! Over here! Look!"
Seraphina looked toward the sound and saw a young man dressed in a thick down jacket and a scarf, his attire looking somewhat out of place in the current environment.
He was standing not far away, waving enthusiastically at them.
Sean Chandler immediately whispered an explanation to Seraphina: "That guy, he came knocking on our door not long after we got here. Said he wanted to trade some Player information and other intel he has for some of our supplies. I ignored him at the time."
Seraphina remembered. That did happen.
But she never expected the man to be so overly familiar, acting as if they were already old friends.
Out of caution, Seraphina discreetly activated [Eye of Resume] on the enthusiastically waving man.
[Name: Forrest Sterling]
[Gender: Male]
[Level: Level 2]
[Professional Skills·Talent·Teleporting Pigeon: Can consume spiritual power to summon a dove condensed from Energy. The dove has the Ability to ignore conventional Space obstacles and certain distance limitations, and can accurately teleport letters or small items to targets that have been previously contacted and spiritually locked.]
[Weaknesses: Extremely low defense, lacks offensive Skills, and personal combat Ability is a major concern.]
’A Player! And a Level 2, at that!’ Seraphina’s interest was piqued.
She knew it was only a matter of time before she met other Players in the official safe zone, but she hadn’t expected one to show up at her door so soon.
Moreover, this Player named Forrest Sterling had a very unique Ability.
It was an extremely rare support-type communication Ability.
In particular, his Talent allowed him to ignore both Space and distance.
He could even communicate across different zones.
In other words, if Forrest Sterling were in a different apocalyptic instance, he could use this Talent to exchange messages with a target he had locked onto.
’What a great support Ability.’
But with only this Ability, how did this Forrest Sterling become a Level 2 Player?
This made Seraphina scrutinize the group of people with him.
