Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 215: Clear Flavor Ball, Garbage Sludge Monster
Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Clear Flavor Ball, Garbage Sludge Monster
The transmission began.
An instantaneous feeling of weightlessness and dizziness washed over her.
The next second, she felt solid ground beneath her feet.
But arriving even sooner was a stench so tangible it was suffocating, an assault on the senses.
Seraphina Sullivan: !!!
’Didn’t I put on my Anti-Poison Mask?’
’How can it still smell this bad?’
It was a foul odor that defied precise description.
But now, the stench had manifested as a thick, yellowish-green mist.
The mist wasn’t just acrid; it even made her eyes burn.
Even with her Anti-Poison Mask, Seraphina was still slightly affected.
’This is practically a bioweapon.’
’I’ve really run into a ’cesspool’ level environment!’
Seraphina wailed internally.
Of course, she wasn’t the only one affected.
Every candidate who came through the portal, no matter how composed they were before, now had a strained look on their face.
Soon, however, the Purification Sets they wore nullified the air’s effects on them.
But the others weren’t so lucky.
Many instinctively covered their noses and mouths.
"HURK—!"
Some broke down completely.
The moment they landed, they doubled over and began to vomit violently. The smell of their sick mixed with the already unbearable stench, creating a secondary assault.
"Help! This gas is toxic! My throat! My eyes!"
Seraphina saw some Players shouting in terror.
However, after the last candidate emerged, the exam supervisor and the tall, sturdy man who had led them here coldly put away the Space Transmission Ring.
It was as if they hadn’t seen the crowd’s miserable state at all.
The supervisor’s voice, amplified by some device, echoed coldly across the death zone shrouded in yellowish-green mist:
"The assessment begins now! Clear out the Junk Monsters in this area! Those who survive after the cleanup is complete will successfully become Purification Envoys. I wish you... good luck!"
Seraphina looked up at the Sky-Hole in the distance.
’What kind of garbage could possibly spew out such a horrifying smell?’
"Here!" Nelly Nash suddenly handed her a small sphere.
Seraphina froze.
She looked at the sphere.
[Clear Flavor Ball]
Effect: When activated, clears special odors within a one-meter radius of the bearer.
Seraphina was a little surprised to see this item.
Seeing that Nelly Nash was completely unaffected by the stench, Seraphina understood.
Clearly, the Clear Flavor Ball was very effective, working on the same principle as her own Flavor Isolator.
It was just that Seraphina’s Flavor Isolator was currently back in her RV in the real world.
"Thanks!"
"Don’t mention it. Didn’t we agree to cooperate?"
Seraphina hadn’t expected it; this leader-like Nelly Nash was surprisingly nice.
"Let’s go. A Sky-Hole that produces Junk Monsters with such a horrifying smell obviously won’t be easy to deal with."
"Right!"
As Seraphina adapted to the extremely hostile environment, she quickly scanned the other candidates’ movements out of the corner of her eye.
Especially her primary targets of interest.
Yana Yates and his puppet, Evan.
She saw the two of them moving without the slightest hesitation, as if completely unaffected by the horrifying stench and environment.
They headed straight for the "New Sky-Hole" in the distance—one that was constantly dripping new garbage, its edges twisting and squirming—and their figures quickly vanished into the thick, yellowish-green fog.
’The farther away, the better.’
Seraphina was glad to see them moving away on their own accord.
She temporarily removed them from her primary watch list and focused all her attention on the threat before her.
Not far in front of her, on a relatively "open" patch of ground...
...a huge, constantly squirming mass of yellowish-green slime was slowly coalescing into a distinct shape.
It had no fixed form. Bubbles constantly swelled on its surface before popping, releasing an even more potent stench.
It was like a living bog, a mixture of countless rotting things, chemical waste, and some kind of active sludge.
The [Eye of Resume] instantly provided information:
[Garbage Sludge Monster]
[Gender: None]
[Professional Skills: Mud Spray: Can compress its body to shoot a high-speed jet of contaminated mud with strong adhesive and corrosive properties at enemies.]
[Weaknesses: Water: Rinsing with large amounts of clean water can accelerate its structural disintegration.]
Seraphina stared at the shit-colored monster, which she estimated to be at least three meters tall and constantly shifting in shape, and her stomach churned.
The visual impact was more than ten times stronger than the sewer rats she had encountered before!
"It really is a Garbage Sludge Monster! This thing is the absolute worst. Hitting it is like kicking a hornet’s nest!"
Nelly Nash, standing beside her, spat on the ground. Her face was full of disgust, but her actions were decisive.
She quickly shouldered the modified metal guitar she carried and struck a classic rock-and-roll pose.
Seraphina was also very curious about just how powerful Nelly Nash’s unique [Guitar Sound Wave Six Forms] was.
"Guitar Sound Wave First Form, Death Shockwave!"
Following Nelly Nash’s powerful roar, her fingers, clad in fingerless leather gloves, plucked the special metal strings!
"BWWWONG—CLANG!!!"
A pitch-black sound wave, visible to the naked eye as it distorted the air, shot out from the guitar’s amplifier like a cannonball.
Accompanied by a tearing noise, it accurately struck the newly formed Garbage Sludge Monster at incredible speed!
"SPLAT—!"
With a muffled thud, the three-meter-tall Sludge Monster didn’t even have a chance to attack.
Its massive body, as if struck by an invisible sledgehammer, instantly exploded, splattering into countless sticky, yellowish-green fragments!
"So... so powerful!"
Julia Joyce, who happened to witness this from a short distance away, couldn’t help but gasp, her eyes filled with awe.
Seraphina’s brows furrowed, however. Both the feedback from her [Eye of Resume] and her own intuition were sounding alarms.
"Something’s wrong! It’s not dead!"
Her judgment was immediately validated.
The splattered, seemingly inert fragments of slime, as if drawn by some invisible force, began to squirm and converge back toward the center!
Moreover, because its body had been broken apart, the extreme stench trapped within was released in greater volume, causing the surrounding yellowish-green mist to become visibly thicker and more suffocating!
"HURK!!"
"BLEAGH—!"
More violent sounds of retching and vomiting came from all directions.
Some candidates were completely overwhelmed by the suddenly intensified stench, unable to even maintain a combat stance.
Seraphina, on the other hand, had the Clear Flavor Ball from Nelly Nash.
Otherwise, she would have been nauseated to the point of vomiting just like the others.
She now completely understood why Nelly Nash and the other veterans had called this type of Junk Monster "disgusting" and "hard to deal with."
This Garbage Sludge Monster... not only were physical attacks likely ineffective or had minimal effect...
...but attacking it also worsened the environmental conditions, creating a vicious cycle!
It was a mobile, unkillable source of pollution!
’How are we supposed to deal with this?’
