Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Understanding the Background of Junkheap Ruins, the Beginning of the Sky-Hole

’For her to take out that box of candy so easily, she’s either so powerful that she has nothing to fear...’ Graham Gallo thought. ’Or... this is a meticulously designed trap. Her goal is to lower my and my brother’s guard, and then...’

At this thought, Graham Gallo’s nerves—which had relaxed slightly just because she was a woman—instantly tensed up again. He was even more vigilant than before.

He tightened his grip on his Wind Cleaning Broom, his muscles tensed and ready to strike.

Seeing this, Seraphina Sullivan sighed inwardly in resignation.

’I suppose this is what happens when you don’t know enough about this apocalyptic dungeon.’

’This whole situation, all over a small box of candy.’

’Communication is useless. He’s far more guarded than I anticipated.’

’Looks like the chances of getting information peacefully are slim.’

Seraphina Sullivan had neither the time nor the energy to drag this out.

’Since talking nicely isn’t working, I’ll have to do it my way.’

The moment the thought formed, Seraphina Sullivan moved!

Her figure suddenly blurred.

Her Bounce Skill activated, and she turned into a blur, moving at a speed the brothers couldn’t possibly react to. In an instant, she was behind them!

"What?!"

"So fast!"

All Graham Gallo and Nathan Gallo saw was a blur.

A rush of wind surged behind them. Just as looks of horror began to dawn on their faces, before they could even think to defend or counter-attack, they felt something tighten around their waists!

The Poisonous Python Black Whip in Seraphina Sullivan’s hand uncoiled with a SWISH, moving like a living serpent.

It wrapped around the brothers’ waists several times with agile speed, Binding them securely.

The powerful Binding force from the whip instantly robbed Graham Gallo and Nathan Gallo of their ability to resist, filling their hearts with shock and despair.

Her speed, her Power—it was far beyond anything they could have imagined!

Then, something happened that caught them even more off guard.

While Seraphina Sullivan kept a firm grip on the whip’s handle with one hand, her other shot out like lightning.

First, with a SWISH, she pulled off her own Anti-Poison Mask, revealing the delicate, disguised face underneath.

Then, faster than they could blink, she ripped the special masks from Graham Gallo and Nathan Gallo’s faces—the very things they relied on to filter the foul air!

The three of them were now exposed, completely unprotected, to the Highly Poisonous and rancid air of the Junkheap Ruins.

The very instant the masks were ripped off, Seraphina held her breath and activated her Skill—Sweet Fragrance!

A puff of pink, sickly sweet Aura sprayed from Seraphina’s mouth.

It precisely enveloped Graham Gallo and Nathan Gallo, who, having lost their masks, were just about to subconsciously gasp for air.

They were hit by the Sweet Fragrance.

The brothers’ eyes instantly grew vacant and dazed. The looks of terror and struggle on their faces faded rapidly, as if wiped away by an eraser.

Their bodies stopped writhing, and they became docile and still.

Sweet Fragrance Control successful!

Having succeeded in a single strike, Seraphina Sullivan didn’t dare to delay for even a moment.

She put her Anti-Poison Mask back on as quickly as she could.

It sealed her off from the nauseating air around them.

Then she quickly picked up the two special masks from the ground and efficiently put them back on the brothers, who were standing stock-still with vacant eyes.

Once all that was done, she let out a shaky breath through her mask and couldn’t help but mutter under her breath:

"Jeez, that air could kill you! A few more seconds and I think I would’ve dropped dead right there!"

After her grumble,

Seraphina wasted no more time.

She immediately began questioning Graham Gallo and Nathan Gallo, now under the Control of her Sweet Fragrance, to find out more about this "Junkheap Ruins" world.

The two brothers were in a semi-conscious state. In response to her questions, they told her everything they knew, holding nothing back.

Without any reservation, they laid out everything they knew.

Seraphina learned a great deal of fragmented information.

Soon, Seraphina had a preliminary understanding of this dungeon world’s complex situation and the root of its tragedy.

’So the beginning of this apocalypse really was those black holes in the sky, endlessly pouring down trash.’

This world was called the ’Junkheap Ruins’ precisely because of the black holes that had appeared a century ago, from which an unending torrent of trash flowed from the unknown Otherworld.

Seraphina looked up, her eyes tracing the dark maws in the distant sky that were still spewing filth. It all made sense now.

’No wonder they call this world the Junkheap Ruins,’ she thought. ’The name couldn’t be more fitting.’

The people of this world called these black holes the Sky-Holes.

A huge question formed in her mind.

"In a hundred years, has no one ever tried to destroy these Sky-Holes? Or sent people through to see what’s on the other side? What exactly is endlessly dumping all this trash into your world?"

Seraphina pressed.

She directed the question at the controlled Graham Gallo.

Graham Gallo, his eyes vacant and his voice stiff, replied, "A hundred years ago, when the first Sky-Hole appeared, the government and military tried to stop it and investigate. They even bombarded them with missiles... but it was all pointless.

"The attacks would just disappear into the darkness of the holes without a trace, like stones sinking into the ocean."

He paused.

"As for going through to the other side... there were volunteers. They took specially designed aircraft and tried to fly upstream, into the Sky-Holes, to investigate.

"But everyone who went in vanished without a trace. We never heard from any of them again.

"No one knows what’s on the other side, or what happened to them. We don’t even know if they’re dead or alive."

Seraphina listened in silence, a storm of thoughts raging within her.

’Indestructible and impossible to investigate.’

’That means the source of this apocalyptic disaster is completely inaccessible. They don’t even have a starting point for solving the problem.’

’So, this world’s apocalypse is a completely random catastrophe, an endless garbage problem that can’t be solved at its source.’

From Graham Gallo’s disjointed account, Seraphina learned more.

The Sky-Holes had first appeared in this world a century ago.

At first, there were only a few Sky-Holes, and the amount of trash they dumped was limited. They didn’t cause much concern on the vast planet; some people even considered them a strange spectacle.

The government might have conducted some secret research, but nothing was ever made public.

However, disasters often creep in gradually.

As time went on, the number of Sky-Holes in the sky began to slowly increase, like ink blots spreading across a clean canvas.

The torrent of trash pouring from them grew ever larger, its composition becoming more and more complex and hazardous.

Pollution began to spread. The land lost its vitality, the water turned toxic, and the air filled with a deadly stench. Within just a few decades, the planet’s entire ecosystem collapsed.

It was an irreversible slide into the abyss, which eventually turned the world into the enormous, ever-expanding landfill it was today.

Endless streams of trash continued to fall from the sky every day, every hour, every second.

It squeezed the survivors’ living space and eroded their remaining Life Force.

After hearing all this, even Seraphina, who had experienced multiple apocalyptic dungeons, couldn’t help but be rendered speechless.
