Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 196: The Peerless Guild, Utterly Disgusting
Chapter 196: Chapter 196: The Peerless Guild, Utterly Disgusting
Realizing she probably couldn’t face Neil Webb’s devastating Space Cutting head-on, Seraphina Sullivan immediately pinned her hopes on the Talent of Todd Olsen, who was beside her.
Her gaze swept almost imperceptibly over Todd Olsen, who stood beside her, his face still pale.
’His Talent, Binding... It can restrain a target for three seconds just by looking at them, and it even disables their Abilities during that time!’
Three seconds!
In a duel between masters, that brief window was more than enough.
If they could just use those three seconds.
If they could stop Neil Webb from unleashing that terrifying Space Cutting, Sean Chandler’s strength and explosive power would give him a definite chance to turn the tables and kill him!
At this thought, Seraphina Sullivan calmed down slightly, feeling a renewed sense of confidence.
She subtly shuffled a little closer to Todd Olsen, closing the distance between them.
This was to ensure that, when the time came, she could be the first to use her Sweet Fragrance to establish control.
Neil Webb had been burning with fury because a batch of supplies he had painstakingly collected was intercepted by another Player organization. The screams from a moment ago were the result of him venting his anger.
Now, he saw Gene Morton return with his people.
His gaze fell instantly upon Seraphina Sullivan, who was being held captive by Keith Griffith.
Although Seraphina Sullivan deliberately kept her head down, her slender figure and the faint outline of her profile still caused a nearly imperceptible glint to flash in his eyes.
He leaned back on a ruined sofa and spoke lazily, his voice carrying an unreadable tone.
"So, Gene Morton is back? How was the haul this time?"
Gene Morton felt Neil Webb’s gaze, which seemed casual but was filled with oppressive pressure.
A chill shot up his spine, and he quickly bowed to answer.
"Webb, I’ve ’invited’ over that skilled Player I mentioned to you. He’s incredibly strong. With him on our side, our organization’s strength will definitely increase significantly."
He deliberately stressed the word "invited."
Then, he carefully added.
"Boss, you probably remember. Not long ago, this was the man who killed that Hunter Lowe fellow who annoyed you so much."
"Oh?"
Sure enough, those words drew Neil Webb’s gaze away from Seraphina Sullivan.
With a trace of genuine curiosity, he looked toward Sean Chandler, who was standing a little farther back.
"Hunter Lowe... that arrogant fool who thought he was hot stuff just because he had some Special Ability? And this is the guy who finished him?"
Neil Webb sized up Sean Chandler with great interest.
His eyes were like those of a merchant appraising a valuable commodity.
After a moment, he nodded, his tone dripping with the sort of arrogance one might use when giving charity.
"Hm, not bad. You have a steady aura and the eyes of a killer. You’re good stock. Follow me, join The Peerless Guild, and I’ll guarantee you a life of luxury."
"Your status? Second only to mine. Women, power—as long as you have the skill for it, take your pick."
However, in response to this seemingly generous offer, Sean Chandler simply stood there, expressionless. He didn’t even raise an eyelid, as if he hadn’t heard a word.
This undisguised dismissal made Neil Webb’s eyebrow twitch.
A flash of displeasure crossed his eyes at Sean Chandler’s tactlessness.
Seeing this, Gene Morton’s heart skipped a beat.
Fearing that Neil Webb’s fury would be directed at him, he quickly stepped forward and cautiously tried to change the subject.
"Boss, please calm down! Mr. Chandler, he might... not understand us yet. He probably just needs some time to adjust."
He hastily steered the conversation in a new direction.
"Boss, we heard the commotion in here from outside. Which blind fool managed to piss you off again?"
As he spoke, eager to show his "loyalty,"
he turned and snapped at the other members of The Peerless Guild by the brazier, "You bunch of useless trash! What the hell are you doing? How could you let the Boss get this furious!"
Just then, a skinny, weaselly-looking man standing beside Neil Webb’s sofa chimed in sarcastically,
"Hmph! Who else? That son of a bitch Jordan Quade! He used his numbers to ambush and steal the supplies the Boss had his eye on! Left the Boss with a gut full of rage and nowhere to vent it!"
The skinny man gestured with his chin toward a shocking pile of mangled remains nearby.
His tone was chillingly indifferent. "See? These unlucky schmucks were incompetent and cost the Boss, so he used them to blow off some steam."
After his explanation, the skinny man’s eyes shifted to Seraphina Sullivan, held between Keith Griffith and Victor Lowe.
A lecherous glint flashed in his murky eyes as he licked his lips and sneered.
"But... Gene Morton, you little punk, you actually did something right this time. The Boss just lost a batch of supplies and is in a foul mood, and you bring back such a prime piece of meat. Tsk tsk, with a face like that, looks like the boys will finally have a new toy to play with."
As soon as he said this, several nearby members of The Peerless Guild let out low, malicious chuckles.
One malicious gaze after another, like slimy tentacles, roved brazenly over Seraphina Sullivan’s body.
A chill rose from the depths of Seraphina Sullivan’s heart.
She suppressed the nausea churning in her stomach and keenly picked up on the information in the skinny man’s words.
’Jordan Quade? Intercepted supplies?’
She had assumed Neil Webb’s rage was due to some internal problem among his subordinates.
Or perhaps simply because his supplies had been stolen.
’But now it seems he’s actually clashed with another Player faction?’
Furthermore, from their words and the looks in their eyes, she became even more certain of her earlier suspicion.
’The so-called "supplies" they mentioned probably weren’t limited to simple survival resources like food and medicine.
It was very likely they also included "women" like her!’
Neil Webb’s gaze fell back on Seraphina Sullivan, his eyes filled with undisguised possessiveness, as if he were assessing a novel new plaything.
"And this woman, who is she?" he asked, casually pointing a finger at Seraphina Sullivan.
His tone held the casual indifference of a superior. "Is she a gift you all specially found and brought to me as an offering?"
The question caught Gene Morton off guard, and for a moment he didn’t know how to respond.
He subconsciously glanced at the one who had started this, Keith Griffith.
Keith Griffith had just managed to recover from his nausea.
Seeing Neil Webb asking the question himself, and catching the look Gene Morton shot him, he instantly felt this was a perfect opportunity to prove his worth.
He quickly forced a sycophantic smile, took a step forward, and said:
"To answer the Boss! This... this is Sean Chandler’s girlfriend! This Sean Chandler is a stubborn one and hasn’t agreed to join The Peerless Guild. We... we had to use a little leverage. We took his girlfriend hostage, and only then did he agree to come with us."
Keith Griffith eagerly boasted about how clever he’d been in bringing Sean Chandler here.
But Seraphina Sullivan keenly noticed that when Keith Griffith said the word "girlfriend," a flicker of displeasure and hidden killing intent flashed in Neil Webb’s eyes.
It was the irritation of seeing something he already considered his own having been marked by another.
Weaknesses: Extreme Lust.
As Seraphina Sullivan recalled the man’s Weaknesses, the nausea in her gut skyrocketed, becoming almost impossible to suppress.
