Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Zengzeng Recovery Soup, the Ambition of Chubbs and Tubbs

Seraphina shook her head at the excited Flora.

She turned and went to check on the planting area first.

The vegetables in the planting area were thriving, nourished by the Space’s unique environment and Energy. They formed a lush, green patch, brimming with life.

’I’ll stir-fry a small plate of vegetables in a bit.’

Then, Seraphina walked over to the ranching area.

The pair of Cluckers she’d nicknamed Chubbs and Tubbs saw Seraphina glance over and immediately stood up from their love nest.

Chubbs: "Wife, quick, get up! The boss is here!"

Tubbs: "Husband, you don’t have to tell me, I can see her!"

A pile of fresh eggs lay in the straw nest beneath the two Cluckers.

Clearly, Tubbs had been working hard.

"Hmm, not bad at all. Production is stable. You deserve some praise," Seraphina said, nodding in satisfaction.

Tubbs’s eyes lit up, overjoyed at being praised by the boss.

Finally, Seraphina’s gaze fell upon a corner of the Space.

There, the Silenti, led by Moe, were gathered in an orderly group.

Their round, plump bodies floated quietly, their large eyes curiously observing everything in the Space.

’I should build a dedicated shelter for the Silenti. I can’t just let them stay out in the open all the time.’

Seraphina thought, stroking her chin.

After all, she summoned Moe out from time to time. Without Moe to supervise them, who knew if the other Silenti might accidentally petrify the other creatures on the farm.

After surveying the farm and considering how to improve it, Seraphina’s expression turned serious. She called Flora and Moe to her side.

She took out the three precious Genetic Potions.

[Blast Flame], [Evolution], and [Monster Power].

Seraphina laid out her idea.

She asked if they were willing to try the potions in hopes of gaining greater Power.

However, the result was not what Seraphina had expected.

Flora disdainfully pushed the potion vials away with one of its leaves.

A clear thought was transmitted into Seraphina’s mind: "Master, Flora doesn’t need some foreign substance to change! I can feel it—as long as I keep eating and eating, consuming enough high-quality things and accumulating enough Energy in my body, I’ll naturally evolve and grow stronger! It’s a feeling from deep within my bloodline!"

Seraphina was stunned. ’It can actually do that? Achieve its own Evolution just by eating and accumulating Energy? I never would have guessed.’

’The Eye of Resume didn’t show me that, which means it has its limitations.’

’After all, this Ability isn’t a true [Identification Eye].’

Then, Seraphina turned her gaze to Moe.

Moe blinked its large eyes.

It then shook its head, also conveying its refusal.

It seemed to have an instinctive aversion to potions that would forcibly alter its fundamental nature.

Moe preferred to rely on its species’ natural Talent and grow stronger over time.

Seeing that Moe also refused, Seraphina didn’t press the issue.

’Looks like these two little ones have strong opinions of their own, and they take pride in their unique paths to growth.’

Seraphina respected their choices and put the potions away.

"Alright, if you don’t want them, then that’s that. Maybe I’ll find another use for these potions later."

Seraphina set the three Genetic Potions aside for now and took out the mysterious [Food God’s Gourmet Atlas].

She was curious whether appraising ordinary vegetables from her farm could generate recipes with special Effects.

She used [Food Appreciation] on the verdant lettuce, plump tomatoes, and other vegetables in the planting area.

But the results only showed:

[Ingredient: Common Lettuce]

[Edibility: Edible]

[Recipe: Simple Lettuce Salad - Effect: None. Satiates hunger.]

[Ingredient: Common Tomato]

[Edibility: Edible]

[Recipe: Sugar-Tossed Tomatoes - Effect: None. Satiates hunger.]

After several attempts, Seraphina discovered that ordinary vegetables from the real world, even when grown in her farm Space, couldn’t produce any special beneficial Effects.

The recipes generated by the Food Atlas were just simple, home-style dishes, good only for filling one’s stomach. ℯℯ𝘭.

It seemed only plants or monster materials brought back from the Doomsday Game—items that inherently contained special Energy—could be used to create "special effect cuisine" with extraordinary results.

Seraphina then turned her attention to the pile of [Growth Potatoes] in the corner and used her appraisal Ability on them.

[Recipe Name: Growth Potatoes Recovery Soup]

Main Ingredients: 2 Growth Potatoes (peeled and diced).

Secondary Ingredients: 1L purified water, 5g salt, Energy Crystal Powder, 1 fresh scallion (minced).

Steps: 1. Place the prepared Energy Crystal Powder and diced Growth Potatoes into a pot, add water... 2. Bring to a boil on high heat, then reduce to a simmer for 1 hour until potatoes are tender... 3. Season with salt and garnish with minced scallion.

Features: A rich soup with tender potatoes. Consumption rapidly restores a large amount of stamina and slightly alleviates fatigue.

Effect: Rapidly restores stamina and alleviates fatigue.

"Growth Potatoes Recovery Soup? I can’t believe there’s a recipe for this!"

Seraphina’s eyes lit up. This Effect, recovering spent stamina, would be incredibly useful after a long battle or intense exploration.

However, making it required a special ingredient: "Energy Crystal Powder."

’Looks like from now on, I’ll need to pay more attention to collecting all sorts of strange materials when I enter Disaster Game instances. You never know what might be the key to a recipe.’

Seraphina made a mental note.

Now that she understood the principles of the Food Atlas, Seraphina put it away for the time being. She started preparing a simple meal with the ordinary ingredients on hand to treat herself and Sean Chandler.

However, Seraphina failed to notice what was happening in the ranching area. The two Cluckers, Chubbs and Tubbs, were tilting their heads, their small, beady eyes fixed on the three Genetic Potions she had casually set on a small table.

Tubbs nudged Chubbs gently with her wing, clucking softly, "Husband, look at those shiny potions... Boss Flora doesn’t seem to want them. What do you think? If we get the master to use them on us, do you think I could lay more and better eggs? Maybe I could even lay a golden egg! Or maybe I could lay even more? Fifty a day! No, a hundred!"

Hearing this, Chubbs pecked Tubbs on the head in exasperation.

His tone seemed to say, ’You silly hen!’

"CLUCK!"

"You silly hen! Think bigger! What’s the point of just laying eggs? If we get stronger, we could be like Boss Flora, following the master out to fight! We could be battle chickens! Imagine us, dominating the battlefield! How awesome would that be? Isn’t that better than being cooped up here laying eggs all day?"

At this, Tubbs’s gaze turned dangerous. She squinted at Chubbs. "Hmm? Husband, what’s that supposed to mean? Are you saying you’re tired of me laying eggs? Don’t you love me anymore?"
