Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 165: Gravity Control, Power of Earth
Chapter 165: Chapter 165: Gravity Control, Power of Earth
Seraphina Sullivan’s sudden appearance.
The nonchalance in Julian Shaw’s single eye finally receded, replaced by a flicker of intense interest.
He sized up the woman who had suddenly intervened, her movements deft and efficient.
A playful smirk touched the corner of his lips. "Oh? Another one? Things are starting to get interesting."
"Damn it! Just you watch..." Trevor Tanner, seething with rage, tried to charge forward again to get his revenge, but a mechanical arm suddenly blocked his path.
"Boss!" Trevor Tanner looked at Julian Shaw, confused.
"Shut up. Haven’t you embarrassed yourself enough?"
Julian Shaw chided him in a low voice, but his gaze never left Seraphina Sullivan.
He could sense an unusual Aura about this newcomer, something far beyond what Coco Sullivan possessed.
And while Julian Shaw was observing Seraphina Sullivan, she was calmly scrutinizing the two of them in return.
Her Eye of Resume activated, and information on the two men quickly appeared before her eyes:
[Name: Julian Shaw]
[Gender: Male]
[Level: Level 2]
[Professional Skills and Talents: Gravity Control. Can manipulate gravity within a certain range, changing its direction and magnitude.]
[Weaknesses: Severe mysophobia. Cannot stand the sight of filth and is extremely averse to contact with dirty environments or creatures.]
The other person.
[Name: Trevor Tanner]
[Gender: Male]
[Level: Level 2]
[Professional Skills and Talents: Power of Earth. Can control sand, soil, and rock to a limited extent for defense and offense.]
[Weaknesses: Cannot swim. Extremely afraid of water. Being in deep water will trigger panic and significantly weaken his Ability.]
’Gravity Control? Power of Earth?’ Seraphina Sullivan quickly assessed their abilities.
’Both are very troublesome yet practical Talents. No wonder Coco Sullivan was at a disadvantage. Julian Shaw’s Ability is particularly alarming.’
The scene fell into a brief stalemate, the air thick with tension.
Meanwhile, in the distance, Drake Hayes and Jason Young were rushing over with their people.
"Everyone, stop! Who gave you the nerve to fight openly inside the Fireseed Shelter?! Do you want to be thrown out immediately and left to fend for yourselves?!"
Drake Hayes, followed by Jason Young and the others, pushed through the crowd of onlookers and bellowed, his authoritative gaze sweeping over the confrontational figures in the center.
The guards behind him all wore solemn expressions, their hands resting on their weapons, exuding an aura that tolerated no defiance.
Seeing that the Shelter’s law enforcement had arrived, Seraphina Sullivan gave her wrist a slight flick. The long, black whip, which had moved like a venomous python, retracted into her hand with a WHOOSH, as if it had never been there at all.
Trevor Tanner rubbed his arm, which was numb from where the whip had constricted it. His expression was so dark it looked like storm clouds were gathering, and he shot Seraphina Sullivan a venomous glare.
But faced with Drake Hayes and the guards behind him, he didn’t dare act up again. He just spat resentfully and moved to stand behind Julian Shaw.
Julian Shaw, however, immediately put on a seemingly sincere smile. He stepped forward and said to Drake Hayes, "Captain Hayes, a misunderstanding, it’s all a misunderstanding! Please, don’t be angry. We all know each other, we’re old friends. We just had a small disagreement, a little verbal spat. We had absolutely no intention of fighting inside the Shelter. Rest assured, we all know the rules."
He spoke smoothly, trying to downplay the conflict.
Drake Hayes’s sharp gaze landed on Julian Shaw, filled with clear annoyance and distrust.
He had met this guy and that blondie, Trevor Tanner, not long ago during a wilderness clearing mission.
The two were powerful, and Julian Shaw’s strange Gravity Control ability in particular had left a deep impression on him.
Considering the threat of the "Night Tide," he had offered them generous terms to join the Shelter, hoping to bolster its defenses.
He hadn’t expected them to be such troublemakers, stirring up problems so soon after arriving.
"Julian Shaw!"
Drake Hayes’s tone was severe. "Don’t play games with me! I hired you to contribute to the Shelter, not to run wild and disrupt the peace! One more time, and don’t blame me for being merciless!"
"Understood! Understood! Rest assured, Captain Hayes, it absolutely won’t happen again!"
Julian Shaw kept smiling and nodding repeatedly, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes.
After reprimanding Julian Shaw, Drake Hayes’s gaze shifted to Seraphina Sullivan and Coco Sullivan.
Compared to Julian Shaw’s group, these two unfamiliar faces seemed calmer. The whip-wielding woman who had just acted, in particular, had a composed demeanor and extraordinary skill, which made him scrutinize them a little more closely.
"And you two? What’s your story? You just entered the Shelter and you’re already involved in a brawl?"
Just as Coco Sullivan was about to explain things to Drake Hayes, a cry full of worry came from outside the crowd.
"Coco!"
Dustin Sullivan had seen the flare of light from his sister using her Ability from a distance and had rushed over, his heart burning with anxiety.
The moment he arrived, his eyes locked onto Coco Sullivan. He only breathed a slight sigh of relief after confirming she was unharmed.
When Coco Sullivan saw her brother, all the grievances she had suffered at Julian Shaw’s hands instantly rushed back to her. Her lip trembled, and her voice, thick with tears, pointed at the opposing group. "Brother! Julian Shaw and that big Blondie ganged up on me!"
Trevor Tanner, who had been innocently called out, felt his mouth twitch. He screamed internally, ’...Big Blondie?! Where are your manners?! This hair and color is called fashion! Do you even have a sense of style?!’
It wasn’t just Dustin Sullivan. Right after, Sean Chandler’s towering figure also pushed through the crowd.
He had clearly been drawn by the earlier commotion as well.
However, the guy was carrying something he had bartered for from who-knows-where in one hand, while in the other, he was actually holding two creature-like carcasses.
His appearance was completely at odds with the tense atmosphere of the scene.
Hearing his sister’s aggrieved accusation and seeing the roguish smirk on Julian Shaw’s face and the hostile expression on Trevor Tanner’s, Dustin Sullivan’s eyes instantly turned ice-cold. A chill seemed to emanate from him as his gaze stabbed toward the two men.
When Dustin Sullivan’s gaze swept over Trevor Tanner, a chill shot up the back of his neck, and he subconsciously clenched a certain unspeakable part of his anatomy.
The terrifying shadow of the past, of all the suffering he had endured and the domination he had experienced at Dustin Sullivan’s hands, resurfaced in his mind.
Julian Shaw, however, seemed completely unfazed. He even raised his mechanical arm and greeted Dustin Sullivan with a cheeky grin, "Hey! Mr. Sullivan, long time no see, huh?"
The moment Dustin Sullivan saw that face, rage shot straight to his head. His fists clenched involuntarily, his knuckles letting out a faint, sharp crack.
Clearly, the grudge between these two wasn’t something that had started just a day or two ago.
Seraphina Sullivan glanced around, realizing this seemed to be more of a personal grudge between Dustin Sullivan and Julian Shaw.
As an "outsider," it wasn’t convenient for her to intervene any further for the moment. So, she discreetly took half a step back, ceding the lead role to Dustin Sullivan.
Her gaze then shifted to the newly arrived Sean Chandler, specifically to the two unidentifiable creature carcasses in his hand. She wondered in confusion, ’What kind of weird things did that guy... run off to trade for?’
