Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 162: Genetic Modifier, Genetic Warrior
Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Genetic Modifier, Genetic Warrior
With Seraphina Sullivan’s order,
Nicholas Jensen sprang into action without a hint of hesitation.
He extended his hand, a faint light seeming to flow from his palm as he passed it over the toys one by one.
The plastic model guns began to gleam with a metallic luster.
Faint mechanical whirring could be heard from inside the toy grenades and bomb models.
Under the effect of Nicholas Jensen’s Talent, these seemingly childish toys were being imbued with real killing power!
Seraphina Sullivan watched Nicholas Jensen’s efficient "work" and nodded in satisfaction.
She casually picked up a newly materialized bomb, only the size of an egg, and weighed it in her hand, feeling its hefty weight.
"The Bombing Pigeon Plan..."
Seraphina Sullivan muttered to herself, her eyes glinting.
’Now, the bomb problem is solved. The quantity and quality can be guaranteed by Nicholas Jensen’s Talent and my Space. Next, I just need to see if I can find a large number of pigeons or other birds that can be tamed and controlled, either in the Shelter or nearby.’
She could already picture it: thousands of birds carrying bombs, swarming like a deadly Bee Swarm toward the tide of monsters in the night... The sight would surely be "spectacular."
Of course, the Bombing Pigeon Plan might not be executable in the Dark Apocalypse Dungeon.
After all, with the night monsters around, living birds might have mutated as well.
Soon, an hour of continuous production had passed.
Using the [Mobile Doll] Talent at high intensity for a full hour straight was too much, even for the Level 2 Nicholas Jensen.
The color drained from his face at a visible rate.
A cold sweat of exhaustion beaded on his forehead, and his breathing became shallow and rapid.
As if all his strength had been sucked out of him, he collapsed bonelessly to the ground, looking completely wrung out.
Seraphina Sullivan, however, was quite pleased with her haul.
Her consciousness sank into her [Scavenger’s Farm] Space, gazing at the dozens of neatly stacked boxes inside.
They were filled with all sorts of bombs, mines, and some firearms, all materialized by Nicholas Jensen’s Talent.
From high-explosive grenades to sticky bombs, from tripwire mines to timed devices, the variety was vast and their power varied—enough to equip an entire bomb squad.
’This guy’s Talent... it’s practically a mobile arms factory...’
A strong sense of possessiveness rose in Seraphina Sullivan’s heart once again.
’Seriously, I’m finding I want to completely control him and make him my exclusive arms manufacturer more and more.’
The practicality and potential of the [Mobile Doll] Talent far exceeded Seraphina Sullivan’s expectations.
Not only could it turn toys into deadly weapons, but its consumption seemed to depend mainly on the complexity and quantity of the items created, rather than just time.
If he could provide for her long-term, the boost to Seraphina Sullivan’s combat power would be immeasurable.
Checking the time, she saw there were still two hours until her scheduled meeting with Dustin Sullivan and the others.
Seraphina Sullivan had no intention of waiting around in this small, stuffy tin shack.
She glanced at Nicholas Jensen, who was slumped on the floor and on the verge of passing out, and shook her head.
’If anyone saw the state he’s in, utterly exhausted, they might think I did something inhuman to him.’
"Rest here and recover."
Having received the command, Nicholas Jensen gave a muffled "Mm," curled up in a corner, closed his eyes, and fell asleep almost instantly, beginning to restore his depleted spiritual power.
Seraphina Sullivan, meanwhile, took a somewhat worn-looking backpack out of her Space.
She stuffed it with some compressed biscuits, canned food, chocolate bars, and a few bottles of clean drinking water.
In an apocalyptic environment, food was hard currency, useful for trading for information or special items she needed.
Once her preparations were complete, she double-checked that Nicholas Jensen was safe before getting up and leaving the small room.
Walking through the somewhat crowded corridors inside the Shelter, Seraphina Sullivan carefully observed her surroundings.
This Dark Apocalypse Dungeon was different from the ones she had experienced before, which had a much thicker atmosphere of despair where humanity was almost completely on the defensive.
The humans here seemed to have retained a considerable degree of organization and counter-offensive strength.
For example, there was this massive, well-defended Fireseed Shelter.
It was capable of housing and sustaining so many people.
And then there were the "Genetic Warriors" that Wanda Lynn had mentioned before, which were clearly this world’s unique power system for fighting monsters.
’The water here runs deeper than I thought.’
Seraphina Sullivan thought, ’Besides dealing with the "Night Tide," I need to figure out this world’s power levels as quickly as possible, along with the secrets of those Genetic Warriors.
This information might hold opportunities to increase my strength.’
She checked the time again. There were still two hours to gather information.
Shouldering the supply-filled backpack, she walked out of the cramped tin room.
The internal structure of the Fireseed Shelter was clearly defined, roughly divided into three zones.
"Newcomers" like Seraphina Sullivan, who had just registered, or temporary refugees, were restricted to the outermost zone.
The population here was diverse, and the environment was relatively noisy and chaotic. Shacks were packed together, and all kinds of private trades and information exchanges took place quietly in the shadows.
Although the order was a bit lacking, it was undoubtedly the best place to gather information and observe the Native People.
Seraphina Sullivan blended into the crowd expressionlessly. Her [Eye of Resume] activated quietly, her gaze sweeping rapidly over the various people around her.
She needed to distinguish who were "Players" like herself and who were the local "Native People," and find valuable information among them.
Suddenly, her gaze stopped on a lean man with sharp eyes.
His information appeared before her eyes:
[Name: Drake Hayes]
[Gender: Male]
[Professional Skills · Genetic Modification · Invisible Blade: Able to control air currents, releasing Invisible Wind Blades with strong cutting power.]
[Weaknesses: High-frequency sound waves or sustained high-decibel noise can interfere with his Ability’s stability and may even cause it to backfire.]
[Status: Native People]
Seeing this profile, especially the "Genetic Modification · Invisible Blade" entry, Seraphina Sullivan’s pupils contracted imperceptibly as waves of shock crashed through her mind.
’Invisible Wind Blade... How is this Ability exactly the same as the silent attack the Night Bat used, the one that could easily slice through trees!’
A bold hypothesis formed in Seraphina Sullivan’s mind. ’Could it be that the essence of this world’s Genetic Modification is to extract and fuse the genes of those night monsters, allowing humans to acquire their Special Abilities?’
This discovery gave her a new, and more terrifying, understanding of this world’s underlying rules.
If that was the case, then Seraphina Sullivan would have to consider whether she should use this dungeon’s power to strengthen herself.
No one knew if this Genetic Modification came with problems.
