Chapter 170: The Omnipresent Divine Sense, The Origin Steps, and The Uproar of the Continent

Stepping out of the cultivation room, Yu Liang took a deep breath of the fresh, cool night air. For some reason the courtyard looked even more beautiful to him bathed in the soft, silver light of the moon. He even felt the spiritual plants in the garden swayed gently, seemingly celebrating his successful breakthrough.

"Now, let’s see just how much my foundation has changed," Yu Liang muttered to himself putting aside those thoughts and a curious smile appeared on his lips.

He closed his eyes and released his divine sense.

Instantly, his consciousness expanded outward like a tidal wave. But to his shock, this "tidal wave" didn’t stop at the edges of the street not It did stop at the area of Heaven’s Table. It surged into the sky, spreading out with a boundless speed.

In the cultivation world, the divine sense of an ordinary Peak Stage Core Formation cultivator could typically cover a radius of three hundred to five hundred miles. Even for those with Top Tier Spiritual Roots or people practicing Special Soul Nurturing techniques, the limit was rarely over a thousand miles.

But Yu Liang’s divine sense, nourished or one can say empowered by the Soul Palace was a full 100 times larger!

It swept over the massive Jade City, covering its millions of inhabitants in a fraction of a second. But It still didn’t stop there. It continued to expand, engulfing the dense forests, rivers, and the towering mountain ranges for thousands of miles in every direction.

The sensation was utterly mind blowing for him. It didn’t feel like he was just "looking" at the world with his mind, it felt as if he *had become* the world itself. He could feel the gentle rustle of every single leaf in the forest, the tiny vibration of a bug’s wings ten thousand miles away, and even the slow flow of underground spiritual veins. It was like an omniscient being like perspective. The world in his mind was painted in vibrant, flawless detail, down to the very small bee flying in the air.

As his divine sense casually swept over the inner area of the massive Jade City, he suddenly paused.

He felt several incredibly powerful, hidden auras at various locations. There were old veterans in deep seclusion, some were having cultivation at the peak of the Core Formation Realm, and even a few terrifying, suppressed auras that felt like they belonged to the Nascent Soul Realm but not anyone in the Soul Transformation Realms.

These were the hidden guardians and ancestors of the city’s great families and the Cloudwater Sect.

Realizing this, Yu Liang’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly withdrew his divine sense.

Because it was common knowledge that using divine sense to scan the private properties or seclusion caves of powerful experts was equivalent to slapping their faces or declaring open hostility.

No one liked being peeked at, and doing so would instantly provoke a deadly retaliation.

However, what Yu Liang didn’t know was that because his divine sense was backed up through his perfect Soul Palace, it possessed a peculiar characteristic.

Absolute stealth

His spiritual sense didn’t act like a rough probe, it blended perfectly with the surrounding. It was like a drop of water falling into the ocean. The powerful old veterans in the inner city didn’t even feel the slightest ripple. They continued their meditation, completely unaware that a Peak Core Formation Realm junior had just casually scanned their entire existence.

Opening his eyes, Yu Liang let out a breath of relief. "This Soul Palace is truly miraculous. My divine sense is not only vast but looks like it’s also completely undetectable."

Next, he decided to test his newly comprehended Origin Realm technique, the Limitless Water Cloud Shifting Art.

He knew its theoretical functions perfectly. At the Origin Realm, he wasn’t just using spiritual energy to move, he was manipulating the literal Law of True Flow and Spatial Shifting. But knowing the theory and practically executing it were two completely different things.

He stood in the center of the small courtyard. Taking a deep breath, he circulated the technique.

Whoosh

One moment, Yu Liang was standing by the spiritual pond, the next moment, he was standing ten feet away by the garden.

He didn’t feel the wind resistance. He didn’t even feel the physical exertion of moving his muscles. It felt... It felt as if the space between the two points had simply folded, and the water attribute spiritual energy had naturally flowed him from one side to the other. A faint, physical afterimages made of condensed water mist lingered in his previous spot for a second before dissipating.

"Incredible..." Yu Liang marveled, looking at his hands. The spiritual energy consumption was practically zero as known. The moisture in the air was automatically being drawn into the technique to sustain it.

However, the courtyard was simply too small. There were no obstacles and it wasn’t a long of a distances either and on top of that there were no enemies to test its true combat capabilities. If he really unleashed the Origin Realm’s full speed, he would probably end up in the next city before he could even blink.

"I’ll have to find a big, very big desolate mountain range or a secret realm to properly test this later," he chuckled, suppressing the surging curiosity.

Now, about testing his raw Peak Core Formation combat power here was a bad idea because it would definitely destroy this whole courtyard plus this home and if that were to happen Mei Hua would definitely kill him.

’I shouldn’t be doing that.’

Feeling a wave of sleepiness coming, Yu Liang decided to call it a night. He stretched his body, hearing the satisfying pops of his joints, and walked quietly into his bedroom, collapsing onto the soft bed and quickly falling into a deep sleep.

While Yu Liang was peacefully sleeping, the outside world was in a state of absolute chaos.

The heavenly phenomenon had completely shattered the peace of the cultivation world. Every major force, from the smallest rogue cultivator gang to the most ancient, hidden orthodox sects, was frantically trying to investigate every single region of the continent to find the source of this miracle.

Including this massive Jade City was filled with disguised elders from Top Tier Families. They used high grade divination compasses, scanning every mountain peak, every spiritual vein, and every ruin within a ten thousand mile radius. If they didn’t find anything they will move to the next area.

In the demonic paths, the situation was even more brutal. Demonic cultivators were capturing rogue cultivators and using forbidden blood divination and soul searching techniques, trying to extract any fragment of information about the golden lotuses. Entire mortal cities on the borders of the wilderness were thrown into panic as demonic cultivators aggressively interrogated anyone who might have seen the sky turn golden.

The ancient, hidden families of the wilderness dispatched their fastest flying ships, patrolling the skies that same night. They were checking for any thing, it could be spatial fluctuations, any residual level energy, or any newly born spiritual herb or artifact that might have triggered the Heaven’s reward.

Even the usually neutral and reclusive merchant alliances had opened their deepest intelligence groups, offering astronomical bounties of spiritual stones or any other resources for any clue regarding the location of the heavenly phenomenon.

The entire continent was like an anthill that had just been kicked over. Millions of cultivators were scouring every inch of land, some their eyes were filled with greed, ambition, and desperation. They all wanted to find the heaven defying thing that attracted the Heaven’s attention, hoping to snatch a sliver of the fortune, or at least secure a connection with a future supreme overlord if it’s a person.

But no matter how hard they searched, no matter how many divination arrays they set up, they found absolutely nothing. The source of the heavenly phenomenon was completely hidden, as if it had never existed at all.
