Infinite: 10,000x Cashback System In Cultivation World
Chapter 167: A Terrifying Threat and The Mysterious Background of the Genius
Everything was in complete disarray.
Sword Venerable Qingyun and Patriarch Ao Huang finally snapped out of their shock. Realizing the severity of the situation, the two of them instantly moved into action.
"Quickly! Seal their soul seas!" Qingyun roared. His fingers turned into swords, shooting out dozens of strands of pure, gentle Sword Origin energy. These strands acted like the finest needles, swiftly stitching the torn souls of the surviving seven elders and stopping the chaotic backlash from devouring their remaining cultivation.
Ao Huang didn’t hesitate either. He bit his tongue and spat out three drops of his Primordial True Dragon Origin Blood. The blood turned into a warm, majestic medicinal mist, enveloping the elders. This terrifying physical essence forcefully replenished their dried up meridians and stabilized their violently fluctuating auras.
With the help of these two supreme existences, the seven elders finally stopped coughing up black blood, their lives barely saved.
In the center, Daoist Master Tianji slowly pushed himself up from the rubble. He wiped the blood, his was face as pale as of a corpse.
"We diviners... have always been prepared to face the risks of peeking into the Heavenly Dao," Master Tianji said with hoarse voice but tried to maintain his usual calm demeanor. "This is the price of knowing the Heaven’s secrets."
But inwardly, his heart was bleeding. ’Too high. The loss is too high this time!’
Three elders cultivated over thousands of years were completely erased from existence! And his own body... he could feel his foundation cracking with passing time. But the most terrifying loss was yet to be fully realized.
Master Tianji raised his hand and sent a transmission. Instantly, a urgent decree spread across the entire cultivation world through the hidden channels of the Heavenly Secret Pavilion.
An emergency meeting of all branch pavilion masters was announced! The entire organization was being put on the highest alert.
Qingyun and Ao Huang turned to look at Master Tianji, and their hearts skipped a beat when they saw his face.
Master Tianji’s eyes, his legendary Heavenly Star Gaze Divine Physique was in a catastrophic state.
Normally, this supreme physique made his pupils look like two swirling of galaxies. Every blink contained the birth and death of stars, allowing him to see the threads of the universe.
It was a physique that placed him at the absolute apex of the divination path.
But now, those galaxies were collapsing.
The pupils were fractured like cracked glass, with rough black lines spreading across his eyeballs. The starry vortex inside was leaking a gray, dead energy, and the light of the stars was rapidly dimming.
The backlash from the Yu Liang’s counter attack hadn’t just damaged his eyes, it had burned the very essence of the physique within him.
Even the connection between him and the Heavenly Dao had been violently severed by the anti fate attack.
As for his Divine Physique, the damage was profound and terrifying. If he couldn’t heal this wound, he might never be able to see the fate again.
The greatest diviner of the era might become blind!
Master Tianji slowly closed his eyes, taking a ragged breath. When he opened them again, the gentle, grandfatherly demeanor was completely gone. His remaining aura flared up, carrying the killing intent of a seasonal killer.
He turned his head, staring directly at Qingyun and Ao Huang.
"You two," Master Tianji’s voice was no longer gentle. It was icy filled with a chilling threat. "Listen to me carefully. Do not try to dwell further on that genius again. Don’t even think about sending your subordinates to probe any further. And lastly think carefully before even thinking about trying to recruit him by force."
Qingyun and Ao Huang stiffened. They had never heard Tianji speak with such absolute seriousness before.
"If you insist on trying to find him, or if you accidentally provoke him... Then be prepared to die," Tianji continued. "And don’t just think about your own lives. Your sects, your clans, your bloodlines... they all will be erased too."
He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. "They are not a ordinary genius. A normal genius, no matter how talented, cannot possess a treasure that can actively devour and counter attack the gaze of the Heavenly Dao simulation I did with the help of my physique. The things he used... they are beyond the limits of this era. Who gave them to him? What is his true background? We don’t know. But I can tell you this, he is a walking calamity. If you wake him up with your arrogance, his wrath will not just kill you, it will wipe your existence!"
Hearing this, Qingyun and Ao Huang felt a rare feeling of intense fear washing over them.
Yu Liang’s image in their eyes was instantly transformed once again. He was no longer just a talented kid. He was an unfathomable, terrifying mystery. The mystery of his background made him infinitely more terrifying than if he were just a genius from a hidden sect.
Master Tianji waved his hand weakly, dismissing them. "Leave now. The Heavenly Secret Pavilion will be closed for quite a some time. No divinations will take place from now on, not even information trading. We need to heal ourselves and recalculate our actions."
As the two of them walked out of the hall, the grand, floating islands of the Heavenly Secret Pavilion began to dim. The globe stopped rotating, and a massive, concealing fog rolled in, hiding the entire pavilion from the world.
The most powerful intelligence network in the cultivation world had just shut its doors.
Qingyun and Ao Huang flew into the sky, heading in opposite directions. For a long time, neither of them spoke. The silence between the two of them was heavier than ever.
Finally, Ao Huang broke the silence, his voice lacking its usual arrogance. "Old turtle... did you hear him? That genius... he’s not a person. He may very well be a literal monster."
Having witnessed everything that just happened, this was the only explanation Ao Huang could come up with. Because No ordinary genius could possibly accomplish such a ridiculous feat. Perhaps he was merely trying to convince himself of this, for the alternative was far more terrifying. If that genius was truly a human, then what did that make the rest of them?
Qingyun nodded slowly, his eyes filled with deep contemplation. "Senior Tianji is right. We almost made a fatal mistake. His background is a complete void. Even the Heavenly Secret Pavilion couldn’t see through his fate."
Ao Huang gritted his teeth. "What do we do now? If he’s truly that terrifying, and if he finds out somehow we are behind it and holds a grudge against us for today’s disturbance..."
"We must investigate," Qingyun said with resolute tone. "But do not dare to provoke him. We need to investigate the phenomenon entirely. We need to know everything about that is known."
Ao Huang’s eyes flashed with a serious light. "If we accidentally offend him without knowing, we will be prepared to face his wrath. And based on what Senior Tianji said... none of us can afford to face that wrath, so how about it we should stop our forces and as for your idea I think we should implement it layer."
After remaining silent for a while Qingyun nodded heavily. "I agree. I will order my sect to stop investigation entirely. We just wanted to know their identity, so we don’t accidentally step on a landmine but like you said we should stop for now."
With a flash of light, the two of them vanished into the sky.
