Chapter 131: The Treasury Hall and Young Master is here to Sell

  • Next Chapter

Walking back from the handyman disciple area, Yu Liang’s mind was still racing.

The Honorary Disciple position was a massive money devouring pit. Between the monthly quotas, the exorbitant fees for hiring Core Disciple bodyguards, and the daily maintenance of a Top Tier cave abode, he would be needing massive amount of spiritual stones at an astronomical rate.

He wants to quickly amass wealth, then it will create snowball effect.

"How do I earn spiritual stones on a massive scale?" Yu Liang muttered to himself. "Taking missions is too slow. Are there other options? Think Yu Liang think, recall every detail."

After going through memories. Suddenly, a thought struck him like a bolt of lightning.

’The Sect’s Treasury Hall!’

In every major sect, the Treasury Hall was the financial heart of the organization. It wasn’t just a place that distributed resources, it was also a massive recycling center. It bought items, materials, and treasures from disciples who had outgrown them or didn’t need them, exchanging them for sect contribution points or direct spiritual stones if needed based on the materials’ market value.

Yu Liang’s eyes lit up. He still have many items casually bought from Mei Hua’s pavilion. At the time, he just threw everything into his system inventory without sorting it out. Now, that remaining massive pile of miscellaneous treasures was about to become his first major capital injection.

Without hesitation, Yu Liang changed his direction and headed straight for the grand, imposing architecture of the Treasury Hall.

The Treasury Hall was bustling with activity. Disciples from all over the sect came and went, trading beast cores, herbs, and refined pills. Yu Liang walked up to the central reception desk and asked the guide where he could sell the materials.

The guide, sensing the profound aura of Foundation Establishment Realm and seeing his outer sect robes, respectfully pointed toward a row of private cabins on the second floor. "Senior Brother, before sellinh we have to do material appraisals, please proceed to Cabin Number Nine. Disciple Zhao is in charge there."

Yu Liang nodded and walked up the stairs, soon arriving at Cabin Nine.

Inside, Disciple Zhao was a young man in his early twenties, casually sipping a cup of tea while reading a report. Hearing the door open, he looked up. Seeing a relatively young disciple, Zhao assumed it was just an outer disciple coming to sell a few dozen low tier herbs or some common beast cores.

"Come in," Zhao said lazily, not even putting down his teacup. "Just put the things on the table. No need to hand me your spatial storage bag to check. I’ll appraise them quickly and give you the contribution points or spiritual stones."

He didn’t bother looking closely, fully expecting a small pile of trivial items.

Yu Liang smiled faintly. "Are you sure you want them on the table? It might be a bit messy."

"Just put it down, it’s fine," Zhao waved his hand dismissively, taking another sip of tea.

Yu Liang didn’t argue. He walked over to the large, solid table in the center of the room and tapped his spatial ring.

Thud!

A stack of hundred year old Blue Spirit Grass, neatly bundled, appeared on the table.

Zhao glanced at it. ’Not bad, a decent harvest.’

Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

Next came piles of Tier 2 beast cores, stacks of refined Tier 2 pills from low tier to mid tier and bundles of rare ores.

Zhao’s teacup stopped halfway to his mouth. His eyes widened slightly. ’Wow, this guy actually has a decent haul. He must have spent months in the wilderness and doing missions.’

But Yu Liang wasn’t done. He kept tapping his ring.

Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

The items began to pour out in a continuous stream. Tier 3 materials started appearing. Boxes of Tier 3 Mid Grade Spirit Gathering Pills, crates of Thousand Year Ice Lotus, and bunch of high tier spiritual ores. The pile on the table grew rapidly, soon overflowing onto the floor.

Zhao’s teacup slipped from his hand and shattered on the floor, the hot tea splashed onto his robes, but he didn’t even feel it. His eyes were locked on the table, his pupils trembling violently.

Thud!

Finally, Yu Liang pulled out the heaviest items.

These were peak Tier 4 materials.

A glowing, crimson root that emitted intense heat, a Nine Yang Flame Grass. A fist sized, glowing crystal radiating earthy energy, a Grade 4 Earth Flame Spirit Core.

The table was now completely filed with a mountain of treasures. The rich medicinal and spiritual aura in the small cabin was so dense it was hard to breathe.

Yu Liang dusted off his hands and looked at the frozen disciple. "That’s all of it."

Disciple Zhao’s mouth was open so wide a fist could fit inside. He looked at the mountain of wealth, then at Yu Liang, his face pale and his voice shaking uncontrollably.

"B-Brother..." Zhao stammered, his throat dry. "Y-You... you are selling all of this? To the Treasury?"

"Yes," Yu Liang nodded calmly.

Zhao swallowed hard, his eyes darting around as if checking for robbery. He had seen rich inner disciples before, but he had never seen anyone treat peak Tier 4 materials like common cabbages. "Broth–Sorry, Senior Brother, are you absolutely sure? These are top tier treasures! Once you sell them to the Treasury, they will go into the sect’s vault! You... you really want to sell this?"

"I’m sure," Yu Liang said helplessly. "Appraise it."

Zhao took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. He pulled out an appraisal jade slip and began scanning the pile with shaking hands.

Ten minutes later, Zhao finished the scan. He looked at the jade slip, his face completely drained of color.

"S-Senior Brother..." Zhao’s voice was barely a whisper. "The total value of these materials... it adds up to 527 Million Mid Grade Spiritual Stones."

That was equivalent to 527 Billion Low Grade Spiritual Stones.

Zhao looked at Yu Liang with a mix of envy and disbelief. This was his first time seeing such a colossal transaction take place in his cabin.

"S-Senior Brother, the Treasury has the reserves to pay you this amount directly in Mid Grade Spiritual Stones," Zhao explained quickly, his words tumbling out in a rush. "B-But! I have to submit a highly detailed report to the Elders, and I must log every single material perfectly into the array. If I make even a single mistake in the report or lose a single stalk of grass... my fate will be worse than death. They will search my soul if amount is high and I miss calculated

It."

Zhao wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, bowing deeply. "Please wait here! I must immediately seal the cabin, send the report to the Hall Master, and prepare the payment! I will be right back!"

Turning around, Zhao was about to rush out the door to summon the high elders.

"Wait a moment," Yu Liang’s calm voice echoed in the cabin.

Zhao froze, his foot hovering in the air. He turned back slowly, his heart pounding. "S-Senior Brother? Is there a problem with the appraisal?"

Yu Liang looked at the trembling, hardworking disciple. He saw the fear in the young man’s eyes. Yu Liang’s lips curled up, and a genuine, warm smile spread across his face.

"The appraisal is fine," Yu Liang said, stepping closer. "But before you run off to report this to the Hall Master... I have a deal to offer to you, are you interested?"
