Immortality Starts With Selling Pills
Chapter 89: The Readers’ Comments
Chapter 89: Chapter 89: The Readers’ Comments
Derrick and Cassie took a quick bath in separate sections of the bathroom.
While Derrick took a shower in the middle of the room, Cassie was having a long relaxing soak in the hot tub.
"I’ll be leaving first." Derrick announced himself as he walked out of the bathroom, dressed in freshly cleaned outfit.
If only there was a self cleaning function in this one.
"You going somewhere?" Cassie’s lazy voice drifted from the other side of the curtain stopping him beyond the gate.
"Yeah, got a message from Beth, it seems like she is ready with the first batch of pills."
During the past week, Derrick had told them about Beth and how she was helping his business.
"How come, you have only been making female friends for a while now."
Derrick did not know why but her voice seemed sharp when she said that.
"Uhhh... you think so? It just happened." Derrick shrugged it off.
"Besides, I made a few male friends at the gym too."
It was not like he was lying.
He talked to several older gym members who were stronger tham him for guidance.
To be honest, it was not hard to find people who were at the level of Enhancing Being at the gym.
"I see. Don’t spend the night at her house."
"Yeah, I don’t wanna burden Mrs. Silverheart. See ya."
After leaving the house, Derrick sent a message to Beth, telling her he was coming to see her.
His thoughts could not help but drift to the men who tried to kill him and the man who silenced them later.
Curious he checked the news but there was no mention of it online.
He was sure the authorities would have found the bodies by now.
The fact that they did not made the incident public showed something else was going on in the shadows.
Could it be the West Family again?
It was a fair assumption because he had seen the tattoo on the back of the killer’s hand.
’W’
Curious he checked online for the logo of the West family.
Every major family had a logo or a crest that they used on their businesses.
Hmmm. This one is different but it is also a W.
Even though the proof did not match, Derrick did not move on from his suspicions.
The reason being the message he had gotten from Gwen.
She had warned him that Kenny West was plotting something against him.
And now this happened.
He did not think this was a coincidence at all.
Man, all this overthinking is making me hungry.
To distract himself, Derrick opened the novel forum of his page and checked the latest comments.
His novel was already in the middle stage where he had just exposed the true colors of the female lead.
How she had been keeping her two lives a secret from the mc.
While she was a normal student at day, during the night she was a famous actress and a model.
Not only that she even had a close relationship with one of the male actors she knew from the set.
Suspicious about her movements, the man followed her from the set one day and found her meeting the mc and going on a date.
{Balloonman67: Wallahi, she is fucked.}
{RisaChan’sGreatestFan: That’s why only Risa Chan is the one for me. She won’t do something like this to me.}
Derrick scrolled down the novel’s review section, his thumbs flying across the screen.
{SigmaGrindset99: Bro went from main character to cucklord in three Chapters, author I’m crying under my blanket right now.}
{TrashPanda_X: She really had a full second life, a side dude, AND a model contract? Yeah bro, throw the whole female lead in the garbage.}
{GachaAddict2026: I’m dropping this book if the MC doesn’t burn her model studio to the ground next Chapter.}
A light chuckle escaped Derrick’s lips as he locked his phone screen and shoved it into his pocket.
Whenever he felt down, he would read the comments from his readers and they never failed to lift his spirit.
(A/N: Just like you guys.)
He stopped in front of the Silverheart residence, holding a neat brown paper bag filled with fresh apples and citrus fruits.
He walked up the porch steps and knocked twice on the wooden door.
Beth answered the door in her oversized sweater that slipped off of her right shoulder, giving him a peek of her fair skin.
Her red hair was tried up in a messy bun.
The moment she saw him, her face beamed up a few notches.
But when her eyes landed on the pack of apples in his hands. Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"Derrick," Beth said, leaning against the doorframe with a tired sigh. "I told you last time, you have to stop bringing things every single time you visit."
This was not the first time, Derrick had visited her since he gave her the instructions for the pills.
He would come by time to time to check up on her and her mother.
And that only deepened Beth’s impression of him in her eyes.
"I cannot come empty handed to meet Ruth now can I." Derrick winked at the woman sitting on the couch in the back.
Mrs. Silverheart chuckled shyly and said to her duaghter, "How long are you going to keep him standing on the door."
Beth finally snapped out of her daze and moved to the side. "I am sorry. Please come it."
"How are you, Ruth." Derrick walked up to Ruth and gave her a light kiss on the cheeks before placing the bag of fruits on the table.
It was Mrs. Silverheart herself who had asked him to call her by her name even though he had been reluctant at the start.
But with time he got used to it.
"Much better, thanks to you." Ruth meant every word of it. She was grateful to him for giving her daughter a job.
"I did nothing, it has been all Beth." Derrick glanced at the shy redhead blushing on the opposite sofa.
Ruth chuckled seeing her like that before saying. "You kids should go work, I won’t take much of your time."
Beth did not even let Derrick stay downstairs for a second more once she said that.
She practically dragged him upstairs without saying a word.
Derrick, already used to her antics, did not mind.
"I got the message you sent me." He asked once they were in her workspace.
"Come, I have something to show you." Once they were alone, Beth’s face bloomed into a wide, warm smile. She enthusiastically took him to the center table and showed off her work.
