Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Wang Family: A Martial Disciple Is Indeed Powerful
"Fang, there’s five hundred pounds of high-grade Blood Food left in the shop. Take it all."
Since Lu Zhiyuan had given the word, Li Yunshan was generous enough to directly give Fang Xu the remaining five hundred pounds of high-grade Blood Food from the Blood Food Shop.
"Li, did Land Master personally go into the mountains to hunt for all this high-grade Blood Food?" Fang Xu asked casually, watching the two shop assistants busy loading the meat onto the cart.
He had heard before that Lu Zhiyuan had taken Lu Qingluo into the mountains himself prior to the Blood Food Shop’s opening.
In this world, fierce beasts were also categorized by their strength. Low-tier beasts might only be slightly stronger than ordinary livestock, making them easy prey for ordinary hunters in the Bone Refining Realm.
High-tier beasts, however, were a different story. They possessed the power to slaughter Martial Disciples and Martial Masters.
Rumor had it that some beasts were born with Spiritual Wisdom. They understood the ways of cultivation and could train just like humans. Hiding from the world for centuries or millennia, they would eventually become terrifying existences. At that point, they could no longer be called beasts; they were known as demons.
Fang Xu wasn’t sure if demons existed in Tilan Mountain. After all, the mountain range stretched for thousands of miles, and no one knew exactly how many secrets were hidden within its depths.
"Of course." Li Yunshan smiled. "Land Master felt that since we were taking over this Blood Food business, we couldn’t just sell low-tier goods. That’s why he went into the mountains himself to hunt some high-tier beasts.
"However, there aren’t many Martial Disciples in Fenglin Town on regular days, so most of the time, Miss Qingluo and I are the ones consuming the high-grade Blood Food."
As the two chatted, the shop assistants finished loading the five hundred pounds of Blood Food. Fang Xu bid farewell to Li Yunshan and led the assistants back to his house.
After unloading the meat, the assistants didn’t linger and immediately returned to the Blood Food Shop.
After slicing off a twenty-pound chunk of Blood Food and setting it to stew in a pot, Fang Xu walked into the courtyard. He took out the Staff Technique Secret Manual for the Nine Ape Staff from his shirt and carefully flipped through it.
The Nine Ape Staff was an eighth-grade Staff Technique Secret Manual. It was unknown which Martial Artist had created this Staff Technique, but after reading through the manual, Fang Xu couldn’t help but mentally praise the creator.
The manual was named after the "Nine Apes." It might seem a bit strange at first glance, but a thorough read revealed that the name was incredibly fitting.
The Staff Technique was divided into nine stances. Every stance was created by imitating the most instinctual movements of a type of spirit ape, incorporating both Staff Techniques and Body Techniques.
With a stir of his mind, Fang Xu immediately drew the wooden staff from his Inner Acupoint and began practicing the stances described in the manual.
Though the stances of the Nine Ape Staff were somewhat eccentric, they were much like the Baji Fist he had learned in his past life. There were no flashy frills; every move and strike was direct and clean, easily qualifying as a Killing Technique.
Combined with the Body Technique, Fang Xu felt that this Staff Technique suited him quite well.
He completely lost track of time while practicing the Staff Technique in the courtyard. It wasn’t until the sky began to darken that he suddenly remembered the Blood Food stewing in the pot.
He quickly put away his staff and hurried to the kitchen, only to find that the stew had boiled dry and the charcoal fire in the stove had gone out. Fortunately, the chunk of meat hadn’t burned.
He devoured the Blood Food with gusto. Feeling his vitality and blood slowly replenish within his body, Fang Xu was deeply satisfied. He then drew a basin of water from the courtyard well, took a quick wash, and returned to his room to prepare for cultivation.
Having broken through to the Martial Disciple realm, the little cuties inside his body received ample vitality and began tempering his internal organs once again.
With their presence, Fang Xu figured that his future cultivation only required him to focus on tempering his flesh and bones and refining the power within his acupoints. He could completely entrust his internal organs to those little cuties.
Late into the night, under a crescent moon, a slender hand gently knocked on the courtyard door.
Fang Xu, immersed in his cultivation, was interrupted by the knocking. Frowning, he walked out to the courtyard.
Through the crack in the door, he could faintly make out a pink sheer dress and the snow-white skin hidden beneath it.
A strange expression flashed across his face. After a moment of hesitation, he opened the gate.
Standing outside was Mrs. Wang. The moment the door opened, she glanced left and right like a thief, hurriedly squeezed her way in, and then shut and latched the door behind her.
"Mrs. Wang, what are you..."
Watching Mrs. Wang’s series of actions, Fang Xu spoke with a wry smile.
Mrs. Wang, however, tilted her pretty face up, her eyes gazing at him with silken charm. "I certainly remember what you said before.
"Now that you’ve broken through to become a Martial Disciple, you can’t go back on your word."
After saying this, her slender hand gently pressed against Fang Xu’s chest. Her murmuring voice echoed in his ear. "The night is short. Aren’t you going to carry me inside?"
Having been single for two lifetimes, a hot-blooded young man like Fang Xu couldn’t possibly withstand such temptation. He immediately grabbed Mrs. Wang by the wrist and scooped her up into his arms, drawing a delicate cry of surprise from her!
"The old man next door has sharp ears, Mrs. Wang, so keep your voice down," Fang Xu said with a wicked grin. Mrs. Wang lightly pounded his chest with her small fists in response, but she didn’t dare make another sound.
That night, after Fang Xu put all the theoretical knowledge he had learned in his past life into practice, he gained a much deeper understanding of the saying, "What is learned from books is superficial; true understanding requires personal experience."
Hard studying also required a balance of work and rest. Having just broken through to become a Martial Disciple, he still needed to stabilize his realm. After several in-depth "discussions" with Mrs. Wang, Fang Xu noticed she was reaching her limit. He restrained his desire to continue "learning" and fell into a deep sleep.
The eastern sky gradually turned the pale gray of dawn. Mrs. Wang slowly woke from her deep slumber. Looking at Fang Xu beside her, her slender hand gently stroked his cheek as she murmured faintly, "A Martial Disciple... is truly impressive."
Recalling Fang Xu’s tireless spirit of learning from the night before, along with those unheard-of study methods, Mrs. Wang felt a secret surge of joy, followed by a twinge of tender affection for him. Afraid of waking him, she lay back down carefully, preparing to catch up on some much-needed sleep.
By the time she woke up again, it was broad daylight, and Fang Xu was long gone from her side.
Hearing the whistling sound of a staff from the courtyard, Mrs. Wang struggled to her feet. She picked up her clothes from the floor, draped them over her graceful body, and walked to the doorway, leaning lightly against the frame.
In the courtyard, Fang Xu caught sight of Mrs. Wang from the corner of his eye. He immediately stopped his staff practice, wiped the sweat from his face, and walked over to her. "Mrs. Wang, why didn’t you sleep a little longer?"
Mrs. Wang lowered her head dejectedly. "In the end, I’m just too delicate. I can’t satisfy you, Fang."
Fang Xu chuckled and scratched his head. "We can take our time. I’ve stewed some Blood Food for you to nourish your body, Mrs. Wang."
Mrs. Wang wasn’t a Martial Artist, so it was perfectly normal for her constitution to be a bit weaker.
There were still a few hundred pounds of low-tier Blood Food left in the house. As far as he was concerned, low-tier Blood Food was hardly any different from ordinary livestock meat now. For the sake of his future happiness, it was better to let Mrs. Wang eat it and properly build up her strength.
Mrs. Wang nodded and went into the kitchen to eat the "breakfast of love" Fang Xu had prepared for her. Feeling her strength significantly restored, she stepped out into the courtyard to bid him farewell before heading to the Blood Food Shop for work.
She knew in her heart that she and Fang Xu ultimately walked different paths. It was enough to simply enjoy this while she was still young and beautiful, before her looks faded with age.
After Mrs. Wang left, Fang Xu continued his cultivation in the courtyard, completely unaware that a pair of eyes was watching him from the shadows.
