Chapter 165: 165 | Afterglow*

Lin Tian holding his heavy weight up on his forearms to keep from crushing her soft body into the mattress.

Their breaths mingled in the quiet, undisturbed darkness. Slowly, breath by breath, the frantic panting began to calm, falling into a steady, synchronized rhythm that echoed softly against the wooden walls of the pavilion.

The intense, blinding heat of their climax had passed like a violent storm, leaving behind a profound, bone-deep satisfaction in its wake.

Lin Tian shifted his weight slightly, adjusting his arms to relieve the pressure on her chest.

"...nnh."

A soft, involuntary tremor ran through her smooth, honey-colored thighs. Her body was incredibly sensitive right now, her inner walls fluttering weakly around his thick length at even the slightest shift of his hips.

Lin Tian braced his hands firmly against the mattress. Slowly, agonizingly slowly, he began to pull back.

The slick, wet friction made a soft, intimate sound in the quiet room as he withdrew inch by inch. He took his time, feeling the way her muscles unconsciously tried to hold onto him, reluctant to let the deep connection break.

"Umm..."

Lady Yun let out a quiet, breathless sigh as he left her completely. The cool night air of the pavilion brushed against her heated, flushed skin, making her shiver slightly in the dark. The physical separation left a sudden, heavy emptiness between them on the bed, but the emotional closeness lingered thickly in the air, wrapping around them like a warm blanket.

Lin Tian settled onto the mattress beside her and let out a long, tired breath. He gently stroked Lady Yun’s sweat-damp back, his fingertips tracing the line of her spine with slow, calming movements. Beside him, she lightly brushed her fingers over his broad shoulder, careful around the linen bandages covering his claw wound.

No words were needed.

For several quiet moments, they simply lay beside each other, listening to their breathing and allowing the safety of the sealed room to sink into their exhausted bodies. After fourteen days in the Secret Realm, even this silence felt precious.

After a while, Lin Tian slowly sat up.

Cool night air brushed against his chest as he looked toward the side of the bed. Their discarded robes lay nearby, while the warm room remained quiet beneath the pale moonlight.

He picked up his outer robe and turned back to Lady Yun.

"Here."

He gently draped it around her shoulders.

Lady Yun glanced down at the dark fabric before drawing it closer around herself. Her expression softened as she settled beneath its warmth.

Lin Tian reached for the prepared jade basin and dipped a soft linen cloth into the warm water. After wringing out the excess, he returned to her side.

Her long dark hair was spread across the white silk pillow, framing her tired features. The usual sharpness in her eyes had faded, leaving behind a softness she showed almost no one.

Here, she simply looked tired.

Lin Tian gently wiped the remaining sweat and traces of dust from her arms, shoulders, and waist. His movements were unhurried and careful, carrying more tenderness than words could convey.

Lady Yun slowly relaxed beneath his touch.

She simply trusted him.

When he finished, Lin Tian wiped the sweat and grime from his own skin before setting the cloth aside. He slipped back into his robes, pulled the blanket higher around Lady Yun, and returned to the mattress.

He opened his arms.

She moved closer without hesitation.

Lady Yun settled against his chest, drawing his robe around herself as his arms wrapped around her waist. Her head rested beneath his chin, and one hand came to rest lightly against his chest.

Lin Tian gently stroked her hair.

The warmth of her body slowly replaced the cold that had followed them out of the Secret Realm.

"Fourteen days," Lady Yun whispered.

Her voice was soft and slightly hoarse.

"It felt longer."

She released a quiet breath.

"It felt like an entire lifetime in that poisonous fog. Every time a shadow moved near your blind spot, every time you stepped too close to a corner I couldn’t see..." She paused. "My hand tightened around my dagger until my fingers hurt."

"But you never looked away," Lin Tian said.

"I didn’t."

He lowered his head and pressed a soft kiss against her temple. Lady Yun closed her eyes and sank more deeply into his embrace, allowing the tension she had carried for fourteen days to finally loosen.

After a moment, she shifted closer.

"It’s strange," she murmured.

"What is?"

"Being here. Like this."

Lin Tian looked down at her.

"In the dark, I usually can’t rest properly. Even in my own headquarters, I’m always listening for footsteps or waiting for a hidden blade. I’m used to sleeping lightly, with half my mind still searching the shadows."

Her fingers curled slightly against his chest.

"But here..." She took a slow breath. "Here, I don’t feel the need to watch anything. I can simply close my eyes."

Lin Tian held her a little tighter.

"Tonight, you don’t need to watch the shadows. Just rest."

Her expression softened.

Lady Yun lifted her hand and touched his cheek. Her fingers lingered there before she leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss near the corner of his mouth.

Lin Tian turned slightly toward her.

Their eyes met.

Neither moved for several breaths, as though silently remembering the dangers they had endured together and the relief of finally being back.

Lady Yun’s fingers lightly curled into the edge of his robe.

Lin Tian brushed a loose strand of dark hair away from her face and leaned closer.

This time, Lady Yun closed the remaining distance herself.

Their lips met.

The kiss was gentle and lingering, carrying the quiet relief of two people who had spent fourteen days surrounded by danger and had finally returned somewhere safe. Lin Tian held her carefully while Lady Yun responded without hesitation, her hand resting lightly against his shoulder.

When they parted, neither moved far.

Their foreheads remained together, their breaths mingling in the quiet space between them.

Lady Yun looked into his eyes, the usual cold distance gone from her expression.

Lin Tian gave her a faint smile.

Then he kissed her again.

The second kiss was slower and warmer, his hand resting gently at her waist while she remained close against him. Neither wanted to end the moment too quickly.

Outside, the bamboo leaves whispered beneath the moonlight.

Inside, the world seemed to grow quieter.

Then a subtle warmth stirred between them.

Lin Tian felt the Yin and Yang energy they had exchanged earlier settling naturally within their bodies. There was no violent surge, no sudden breakthrough, and no disturbance of their Qi; instead, the energy flowed quietly through their meridians.

The Primordial Yin-Yang Synergy within Lin Tian gradually brought the two currents into harmony, while Mutual Cultivation Feedback spread through both their bodies like a gentle warmth.

Lady Yun noticed it as well.

She remained nestled against him as the lingering fatigue slowly eased from her limbs. Their breathing became steadier, and the tension buried within their bodies for the past two weeks gradually disappeared.

Their Qi became calmer.

Their bodies slowly relaxed.

For the first time since entering the Myriad Herb Secret Realm, neither needed to think about enemies, hidden dangers, or what waited beyond the walls.

Tonight, they could simply rest.

Lady Yun closed her eyes and curled closer against his chest.

Lin Tian lowered his chin gently against her hair and held her there.

Outside, the bamboo leaves continued to whisper beneath the silver moonlight.

Inside the sealed chamber, the warmth of their cultivation slowly settled as the two of them drifted toward peaceful sleep, with no shadows left to watch until morning.

***

Lin Tian closed his eyes and followed the remaining warmth as it settled through his Dantian. The energy they had exchanged had become calm and harmonious, leaving his Qi steadier and his body deeply relaxed.

Against his chest, Lady Yun’s breathing grew slower.

The Mutual Cultivation Feedback continued to ease the strain left by fourteen days of constant vigilance. The tension in her shoulders gradually disappeared as she relaxed against him.

Neither needed to speak. They simply allowed the lingering resonance to settle naturally within their bodies.

Soon, exhaustion claimed Lady Yun completely.

Her breathing became slow and even, and she fell into deep sleep in his arms.

Lin Tian remained awake for a few moments.

Moonlight from the glowing pearl rested across her peaceful face. He carefully pulled the silk sheet higher, covering her shoulder against the cool night air.

Lady Yun shifted closer in her sleep.

A faint smile touched Lin Tian’s lips as he rested a hand at her waist, feeling the steady rhythm of her breathing.

His own exhaustion finally caught up with him.

He closed his eyes and held her gently.

Outside, bamboo leaves whispered beneath the moonlight. Inside, the two of them drifted into quiet, undisturbed sleep.

He was going to Elder Lui peak Tonight.?
