In the plaza, the officials were thrown into disarray by the gale.

Someone staggered to their feet. Staring at the unnatural reversal of day and night, they shouted, "Your Majesty! Your Majesty! Please stop!"

Yan Ruchu knelt in the raging wind.

All around him, banners whipped wildly in the air; a few had already been blown to the ground.

The plaza was in complete chaos.

The head of the Bureau of Celestial Mandate could barely stand against the wind, clutching a nearby long ladder just to keep his footing.

"Your Majesty!" the head of the Bureau of Celestial Mandate shouted.

But Yan Ruchu paid no attention to his surroundings. He raised his head and shouted again.

"I ask Heaven and Earth to grant this!"

With that cry, Yan Ruchu bowed deeply.

Startled, the head of the Bureau of Celestial Mandate looked up.

A deafening clap of thunder tore through the sky.

"Crack!"

A bolt of lightning flashed before everyone's eyes.

The sudden thunder seemed to strike directly at the soul, making everyone present shudder.

The lightning bolt crashed down.

Mo Yuan looked up, opened his mouth, and let out a dragon's roar.

"Roar!"

The booming roar echoed across the plaza.

The terrifying lightning plummeting toward Yan Ruchu was instantly shattered by the sound.

Yan Ruchu trembled. Although he was not yet emperor, he couldn't help but feel awestruck by this display of Heaven and Earth's fury.

"A dragon's roar..."

The head of the Bureau of Celestial Mandate stood dazed and bewildered.

After obliterating the lightning, the roar soared into the highest heavens, shattering the thunder tribulation brewing within the clouds.

In an instant.

The thunderclouds scattered.

But then, a silent backlash from Heaven and Earth descended.

Qing Tianyou and Mo Yu watched.

The backlash of Heaven and Earth hurtled toward them.

Just as they prepared to act, Mo Yuan raised a hand, summoning a gust of wind that swept Qing Tianyou, Ruyi, and the others far away.

"Mo Yuan!" Lihua exclaimed.

Mo Yuan revealed his true form and charged straight at it.

He opened his maw and unleashed Samadhi True Fire.

The flames surged forward, but had absolutely no effect on the backlash.

He unleashed his Dragon's Might, but still couldn't stop it.

His expression turned grim as the backlash crashed directly into his body.

"Pfft..."

Mo Yuan spat out a mouthful of golden blood, his massive body plummeting from the sky.

Seeing this, Jian Shenghua and Qing Tianyou rushed forward and caught him.

Jian Shenghua immediately channeled a breath of pure qi into Mo Yuan to stabilize his injuries.

"It's a backlash from the Heavenly Dao!"

Qing Tianyou's expression turned grave.

Mo Yu frowned. "This is trouble..."

They tried to force the backlash out of Mo Yuan's body, but their efforts were in vain. Once the energy entered his body, it seemed to fuse with him completely. They could do nothing.

Looking at the unconscious Mo Yuan, Ruyi felt a surge of fear.

"What exactly... is happening?"

Mo Yu looked back at her and said, "It's nothing. Let's head back for now."

Ruyi nodded woodenly, still unable to grasp the situation.

The group took Mo Yuan and immediately departed from the Imperial Palace.

Lihua looked at Mo Yuan with deep worry and said, "Mo Yuan, Mo Yuan, you can't die. If you die, who will Lihua play chess with?"

Mo Yuan coughed and murmured softly, "Mao'er... could you please hope for the best..."

"Eh?"

Lihua blinked. "You're not dead?"

Mo Yuan panted, struggling just to speak. The Heavenly Dao's backlash wreaked havoc inside him, draining the color from his face and leaving him pale and flushed by turns.

He had completely underestimated the terrifying power of Heaven and Earth's backlash.

Seeing this, Qing Tianyou breathed a sigh of relief. "Let's head back first!"

The group rushed back to the Jingzhaoyin Office.

Their expressions were somber.

.

.

After the thunder tribulation had fallen, the dragon's roar shattered the blast and scattered the brewing lightning.

The raging winds stopped!

The pitch-black night before them suddenly faded.

The thick clouds dispersed, and the rumbling thunder faded away with the gloomy haze.

Golden light rose from within the Ritual Cauldron.

Watching this scene unfold, Yan Ruchu slowly recovered from his shock.

He parted his lips, looking completely bewildered.

...

Inside the City God Temple.

The City God watched Heaven and Earth tremble. Seizing the opportunity, he summoned the incense and forced open the path to the Yellow Springs.

"Incense Divine Ability, passage of souls, open the path to the Yellow Springs!"

As the City God chanted his spell, taking advantage of the moment Heaven and Earth were too distracted to notice, a rift leading to the Yellow Springs tore open above the City God Idol.

The City God looked at Chen Changsheng. "Mister, please reconsider this carefully!"

"This Chen knows what he is doing."

Chen Changsheng stepped forward. "Many thanks for your help, City God. I will be off."

The City God watched as Chen Changsheng walked onto the path to the Yellow Springs. Immediately after, the newly opened road began to crumble at terrifying speed.

Trembling with fear, the City God looked up to ensure Heaven and Earth hadn't noticed the intrusion. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.

Sensing the commotion outside, Xianle ran out and asked, "City God Lord."

The City God turned to look at her.

Xianle asked, "Has Mister Chen already left?"

The City God Lord paused, then nodded.

Xianle quickly pressed, "Do you know where he went?"

The City God Lord shook his head. "I don't know."

Xianle parted her lips to speak, but decided against asking any further.

They would meet again eventually.

...

After Chen Changsheng stepped onto the path to the Yellow Springs, the road shattered behind him.

He plunged downward, swallowed by a violent shaking that felt like the world turning upside down.

A long time passed.

A loud splash rang out.

Water sprayed into the air.

Chen Changsheng felt rushing currents envelop his body. He sank downward for a distance before coming to a stop.

He tried to cast a spell, but immediately realized the water was actively devouring his Magical Power. It drained him so thoroughly that he couldn't use a single trace of it here.

Chen Changsheng looked down. Below his feet was a vast, murky darkness; he had no idea how deep it went.

He looked up and saw a faint patch of light.

He swam toward it. After a long while, he finally broke the surface.

"Phew..."

Chen Changsheng let out a long breath. His soaked robes weighed heavily on him, making it difficult to move.

He surveyed his surroundings.

He was floating in a silent stretch of water, but the lake itself was a dim, murky yellow.

"Are these the Yellow Springs...?"

Chen Changsheng murmured.

He looked around in every direction, but the Yellow Springs seemed truly boundless. He couldn't see the end.

With his Magical Power suppressed by the waters, Chen Changsheng had no choice but to swim forward. He blindly searched the area, but found absolutely nothing.

Glancing up, he noticed several souls plunging from the sky. They splashed into the murky water and quickly sank into the depths, showing no signs of floating back up.

Floating on the surface of the Yellow Springs, Chen Changsheng came to a realization.

He dove beneath the surface, chasing after one of the sinking souls.

"Brother!"

Chen Changsheng called out.

But the dead soul didn't react at all.

'So, the end of the Yellow Springs is down there?'

Chen Changsheng thought. But these waters were unfathomably deep. With his Magical Power sealed, how was he supposed to get all the way down there?

He returned to the surface and quietly began to ponder.

Meanwhile, countless souls continued to fall from the sky above, plunging into the waters of the Yellow Springs, never to surface again.
