Immortal Travel of Longevity
Chapter 1374: Burn My Divine Soul! Sacrifice My Essence Blood!
"What is this thing? Why is it so demonic?"
The Old Sword Cultivator rubbed his chin, unable to make sense of it.
Yu Hongdou blinked. "Even you don't know?"
"I've just lived a little longer and seen a little more," the Old Sword Cultivator replied. "I don't know everything."
He wasn't the only one.
The moment Yan Bei'an laid eyes on that Dharma Manifestation, he also sensed something distinctly unnatural.
He had witnessed countless Divine Abilities from the Immortal Sects in the Cultivation World. He had seen at least a hundred types of Dharma Manifestations, if not a thousand, yet the one before him was the most bizarre of them all.
Buddhist compassion and demonic savagery—how could the two merge into one?
Was the person who cultivated such a Dharma Manifestation a complete lunatic?
Sha Tang raised his hand, and the Dharma Manifestation behind him mirrored the movement. In the blink of an eye, the Buddhist hand on the left split into three, and the demonic hand on the right did the same. Above them, four more heads suddenly sprouted, taking their places on either side. This transformation of the Dharma Manifestation left everyone momentarily stunned.
Sha Tang's lips barely moved in a silent chant, and an ancient bell suddenly materialized and resonated before him.
"Bong!!"
As the chime rang out, scriptures spilled from his lips, forming tangible characters that clung to the golden bell.
The golden bell abruptly plummeted toward Yan Bei'an to trap him.
Just as Yan Bei'an was about to draw his sword, however, the Dharma Manifestation opened its mouth. Several changui spewed from the demon's maw and instantly coiled around his arms.
"Bong!!"
The resounding Sanskrit chants made Yan Bei'an frown. He hastily sealed his sense of hearing and shook his arms, shattering the changui into oblivion.
But by then, the Buddhist bell had already descended.
Sha Tang scoffed coldly and began chanting demonic scriptures.
The interior of the golden bell instantly turned into a sea of fire. The eerie blue flames felt as though they originated from the deepest depths of the Yellow Springs. Despite burning furiously, the fire inflicted a bone-chilling cold. A terrifying chill poured in, and in a mere instant, a layer of white frost coated Yan Bei'an's body.
The assault did not stop there. Sha Tang struck the ancient bell with his palm. The tremor shattered Yan Bei'an's sealed hearing, and a deafening chime exploded right beside his ears.
A grunt of pain escaped Yan Bei'an's lips.
Gripping his Immortal Sword tightly, he swept it outward in a powerful slash.
"Hah!!"
Along with his furious shout, a radiant arc of sword light swept forth.
It extinguished all the demonic fire before him and cleaved the golden bell cleanly in half.
With a flick of his sleeve, the frost on his body dissipated. His robes fluttered as he directly faced that divine and demonic image.
He raised his Immortal Sword and leveled it at Sha Tang's throat.
In that instant, the wind and clouds surged. His Sword Intent burst forth, drawing the roar of heavenly thunder as black clouds gathered in the blink of an eye.
Sha Tang froze for a moment, one side of his face savage, the other benign.
"Hehehe..."
A low chuckle rumbled from his throat. When he opened his eyes, they exuded a chilling malice that struck dread into the heart.
"Demon-Subduing Pestle!"
"Heavenly Demon Halberd!"
As his voice fell, the two weapons manifested within the Dharma Manifestation.
Sha Tang hunched his back, as if bearing an unbearable weight. Blood trickled from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.
"Ahhh!!"
A hoarse roar tore from his throat as he bellowed, "Burn my divine soul! Sacrifice my essence blood! Paths of Buddha and Demon! Come to my aid!!"
In an instant, the Dharma Manifestation rapidly shrank, surging into Sha Tang's body bit by bit.
When he opened his eyes again, one thought belonged to Buddha, the other to a demon.
Beyond the city walls, Yu Youyu tilted her head up and looked at the demon whose hair fluttered wildly. At this moment, he no longer resembled a madman; instead, he appeared unnervingly calm.
"Dharma Manifestation..."
Yu Youyu seemed lost in thought. She gazed calmly, and in that split second, she suddenly realized something.
But right at that moment, the Sword Immortal struck.
Sword Qi crisscrossed the air, violently clashing with the demon possessed by both Buddha and fiend.
A massive shockwave erupted in an instant.
Even the Old Sword Cultivator had to steady his stance, while the demons and humans below the city walls were violently overturned by the blast.
Wails seemed to rise from all directions, yet beneath the deafening blast, not a single sound could be heard.
Yu Youyu raised her sleeve with a rustle, shielding herself from the flying wind and sand.
She was forcefully pushed back, leaving a long trail across the ground.
Once the tremors subsided, the demon, now riddled with wounds from the Sword Qi, was slowly plummeting from the sky.
Yun Hengzi frowned and was just about to step forward.
However, another figure reached him first, securely catching Sha Tang.
Yan Bei'an looked down at himself. A moderate gash had been left on his body. The wound on his arm was starkly visible, wreathed in stubborn demonic energy.
It was Yu Youyu who had rescued Sha Tang.
"Slay that demon!!"
Xiao Dongxu hastily shouted.
Yu Youyu fell silent for a moment. She glanced at Sha Tang in her arms and shook her head at Xiao Dongxu.
"I have some things to ask him."
"He can't be killed yet!"
She leaped into the air and, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, suddenly vanished from her spot.
Xiao Dongxu was stunned, unable to discern what sort of Divine Ability or technique Yu Youyu had used.
Wu Daozi was equally taken aback. He stepped forward and asked, "What is the meaning of this?"
Li Gu also wore a bewildered expression.
Seeing this, the Divine Jiao let out a surprised sound. "Riding the wind?"
Wu Daozi paused in surprise.
The Divine Jiao explained, "It is a lost Divine Ability."
Before anyone could react, Yu Youyu had already departed with him right before their eyes.
Seeing this, Yun Hengzi, who had been intending to step in and save him, lowered his hand.
After a moment of thought, he decided against taking any further action.
Due to Yan Bei'an's appearance, Hongyuan Tianxia's all-out offensive ground to a halt. The demons of Hongyuan Tianxia retreated several li and abandoned their fierce assault.
The situation once again fell into a stalemate.
Everyone breathed a long sigh of relief.
"We held them back..."
...
When Sha Tang woke up again, he had no idea where he was.
His limbs were bound by chains, and those chains had Restrictive Seals placed upon them.
Sha Tang froze for a second and looked around.
He found himself in a valley. A table sat in front of him, covered in sheet after sheet of paper. Drawn upon them were images of Buddha and demons.
Sha Tang furrowed his brows in confusion.
Just then, he heard approaching footsteps.
When he looked up, he saw a young woman walking toward him.
"It's you."
Sha Tang recognized Yu Youyu. Years ago, he had once tried to recruit her.
Yu Youyu looked at him and said, "You won't die just yet."
Puzzled, Sha Tang asked, "Why did you save me?"
Yu Youyu stepped forward, stared at him, and demanded, "Tell me about that Buddhist and Demonic Dharma Manifestation. What exactly is going on with it?"
Hearing this, a smile curled at the corners of Sha Tang's mouth.
"So that's how it is."
Yu Youyu responded by driving a punch straight into his abdomen.
Sha Tang's face immediately twisted in agony as the wind was knocked out of him.
"Recognize your current situation. If you tell the truth, you might still have a chance to live. Otherwise, you'll only turn into a dried corpse!"
