Chapter 1165: The Method to Unravel the Dream

Su Junhan looked at him. "Young Priest Xiao, given the current situation, is there any way to bring Mister Chen back?"

Xiao Dongxu paused, then said, "According to the Duke of Zhou's Dream Method, the dream master also once fell into a dreamscape. Later, his Senior Brother stepped into that dream and pulled him back out. However, this came with consequences. The dream never became reality, and the Senior Brother missed his chance to escape alongside the dream master. His divine sense scattered away with the great dream."

Su Junhan did not understand. "According to what you just said, Fellow Daoist Xiao, if that Senior Brother could enter the dreamscape, it proves the great dream actually existed. So why would it scatter afterward?"

"The dream master did not explain this in the book," Xiao Dongxu said. "Most likely, he was too heartbroken to bring it up, leaving that part of the record bare. I suspect it had to do with the dream master himself. To sustain a dream indefinitely, the dreamer must believe in it or actively wish for it to endure. His Senior Brother awakened him; the moment the dream master resolved to flee that dreamscape, the dream shattered."

Xiao Dongxu thought for a moment before explaining, "It is like a rule. The dream master is the rule. If he abandons that place, the result is that it crumbles in an instant."

Listening to this, the Old Dragon King furrowed his brow and shook his head. "I never understand this profound, esoteric nonsense. Just tell us straight—what do we need to do right now?"

Xiao Dongxu said, "Dragon Lord, my point is that our most pressing task is to figure out where Mister Chen's dreamscape is. After that, we must decide who will go into the dream. Furthermore, whoever goes in will very likely never return."

Su Junhan patted the Old Dragon King. "Keep your voice down. You're scaring the young Fellow Daoist."

The Old Dragon King shot Su Junhan a sidelong glance. "You're the only one who acts so gentle and elegant."

Hearing this, Su Junhan smiled helplessly and shook his head.

This stinky loach simply had no sense of decorum.

Su Junhan then asked, "So, according to your meaning, young Fellow Daoist, Mister Chen's dreamscape isn't here, but somewhere else?"

Xiao Dongxu nodded. "A dream arises from the heart; belief transforms it into a world, and entering it forms a Dongxu realm. The Dream Method records that in cases like the dream master's and Mister Chen's, the dreamscape will manifest in reality as a small world. It will have an entrance. Generally speaking, this entrance is located within a cultivator's Sea of Consciousness. However, I didn't find anything in Mister Chen's Sea of Consciousness..."

"He hid it?"

The Old Dragon King raised an eyebrow.

Xiao Dongxu nodded. "That is a possibility. In the book, the dream master once treated his dreamscape as a precious treasure and hid it in a treasure box. He only moved it back into his Sea of Consciousness later because he found it inconvenient."

Hearing this, Su Junhan rubbed his chin. "Such a Dream Method is truly profound and difficult to decipher."

Xiao Dongxu nodded, his expression grave.

To be honest, even he couldn't fully comprehend the profound mysteries of this Dream Method.

The book's explanation of how a dream was initiated was also extremely ambiguous.

It offered only a single phrase: "All things arise from the heart."

A dream originates from the heart, and nothing more.

The three of them discussed the matter for a long time, but failed to grasp any solid leads. Although Xiao Dongxu played a major role in the conversation, he still could not fundamentally determine where Mister Chen had hidden his dreamscape.

The Old Dragon King looked at Su Junhan and asked, "Should we tell that Wang girl about this?"

Su Junhan paused, thought for a moment, and then said, "Let's keep it from her for now."

The Old Dragon King nodded; he also felt this was for the best.

Rubbing his temples, the Old Dragon King said, "I've never liked using my brain. This is giving me a terrible headache."

"Say less, we still need to think carefully about how to find the dreamscape."

Su Junhan frowned tightly, his thoughts churning.

The Old Dragon King smacked his lips and looked toward Chen Changsheng on the bed. "Tell me about it. He didn't breathe a single word about this beforehand. Where are we supposed to go looking for it now?"

Hearing this, Su Junhan suddenly froze.

He cast a thoughtful gaze toward the unconscious Mister Chen on the bed.

Shifting his gaze to Xiao Dongxu, he asked, "Fellow Daoist Xiao, do you think it's possible to get an answer if we simply ask Mister Chen directly?"

Xiao Dongxu stared blankly for a moment before the realization hit him.

He understood immediately.

Xiao Dongxu also turned his gaze toward Mister Chen on the bed.

"If some of his memories remain intact, we might actually be able to ask him..."

The two exchanged a glance, instantly finding their direction.

The Old Dragon King, however, looked completely bewildered. He raised an eyebrow. "What are you two talking about? Why can't I understand a single word?"

Su Junhan shot him a mocking glance. "I told you to read more books, but you insisted on farming. Go play somewhere else. I have work to do now."

The Old Dragon King blinked, then raised a massive fist and shoved it right in front of Su Junhan's face.

"Do you believe I can snap all eight of your tails with a single punch?"

"Brute."

"You reek of fox stench, yet you have the nerve to judge me."

Su Junhan couldn't be bothered to argue with him.

Standing on the sidelines, Xiao Dongxu felt incredibly awkward. He didn't dare say a word.

"Young Fellow Daoist Xiao, let us awaken Mister Chen first."

"Alright."

Su Junhan and Xiao Dongxu approached the bedside.

The two used their Divine Abilities and Magical Power to awaken Mister Chen.

When Chen Changsheng opened his eyes, his gaze was incredibly hollow. He looked around in absolute bewilderment, and the people before him seemed like complete strangers.

"Mister Chen?"

"Mister Chen?"

Xiao Dongxu and Su Junhan called out to him, trying to awaken Chen Changsheng's rationality.

But it had the opposite effect. Chen Changsheng reacted violently; he rolled over and tried to run outside.

Fortunately, Su Junhan stopped him in time.

Chen Changsheng's gaze darted around in visible panic. He babbled a stream of nonsense that no one could understand.

Xiao Dongxu and Su Junhan exchanged a glance.

Su Junhan then asked, "Mister Chen! Mister! Wake up, Mister! Do you remember where you hid the dreamscape?"

Chen Changsheng merely continued to mutter incomprehensible words.

The two stood there at a loss, unsure of what to do.

"Mister!"

Su Junhan suddenly raised his voice. "Where is the dreamscape?!"

"Where is the dream... where is the dream..."

Chen Changsheng suddenly froze, muttering to himself.

Su Junhan's eyes lit up, and he pressed further, "Yes, the dream! Mister, where did you put the dream? Think carefully, think about it..."

"Dream? What dream? What Mister?"

Chen Changsheng spoke rapidly. A sudden, violent headache seized him, and he let out a hiss of pain, clutching his head and thrashing around.

"Ah!"

A miserable scream tore from Chen Changsheng's throat. Instinct drove him to try and ram his head into the wall.

After Su Junhan stopped him, he continued to struggle relentlessly.

Under the violent struggle, he abruptly fainted.

Seeing this, Su Junhan let out a long sigh.

Xiao Dongxu opened his mouth and said, "Fox Lord..."

Su Junhan waved a hand dismissively, unable to stave off a headache of his own.
