Immortal Travel of Longevity

Chapter 1080: Grand Aunt, Spare My Life!

  • Next Chapter

"What the hell is with this sword?!"

The Monkey Demon treated it like a mortal enemy. He had thought the Dragon Spirit was troublesome enough, but this manifested Immortal Sword was utterly ruthless. Every strike was a lethal blow, giving him absolutely no chance to catch his breath.

The manifested sword surged with Sword Intent, resonating with an aura of the Dao. This was far beyond anything he could handle in his current state.

'If this little bitch had tricks like this, why didn't she use them sooner?!'

Shock gripped the Monkey Demon's heart. He thrust his Iron Club forward, knocking the Immortal Sword back.

He spun around, only to find the Dragon Spirit already coiled around his legs.

The Monkey Demon panicked. He whipped his head back around, just in time to see the Immortal Sword streaking straight toward his throat.

At this point, having a body of copper and bones of iron was completely useless.

Against a sword like this, even a head made of an otherworldly Divine Stone would be pierced right through!

The Monkey Demon raised his club to block.

"Clang!"

The Iron Club vibrated violently. The webbing of his hand was jolted open in a bloody split, and a deep notch was gouged into the metal of the club.

And the Immortal Sword did not pause for a second.

His Iron Club could withstand one more strike at most.

The Monkey Demon knew he couldn't escape. If he didn't beg for mercy now, he really would lose his life right here.

He fixed his eyes on Ruyi and shrieked, "Grand Aunt, spare my life!"

Ruyi touched her throat and looked at him. "It's a little late to be calling me your grandma now!"

The Monkey Demon froze, realizing he had truly stumbled into a fatal trap this time.

The sword and the dragon unleashed a relentless barrage of lethal attacks.

Cold sweat poured down the Monkey Demon's forehead as he was beaten back dozens of paces.

Ruyi slowly stood up, sudden realization dawning on her.

That Immortal Sword must belong to Uncle Chen...

But what about the Dragon Spirit?

She finally learned its origin from the Monkey Demon's frantic shouts.

The Monkey Demon begged, "Dragon Lord, spare my life! This is a misunderstanding! If this little monkey had known this young lady was under the Dragon Lord's protection, I never would have dared to act so recklessly! Have mercy, Dragon Lord!"

But the Dragon Spirit showed absolutely no mercy.

It opened its bloody maw and bit down hard on the Monkey Demon's arm.

"Roar!"

A dragon's roar echoed, accompanied by the sickening sound of tearing flesh.

A chunk of flesh was violently ripped from the Monkey Demon's arm.

"Ahhh!!"

The Monkey Demon let out a bloodcurdling scream. His golden body was broken. The excruciating pain turned his eyes bloodshot and twisted his face into a savage snarl.

At that exact moment, the Immortal Sword found its opening.

It thrust straight toward the Monkey Demon's throat!

"Squelch!"

The Immortal Sword pierced clean through the Monkey Demon's throat.

His agonizing screams stopped instantly.

The Monkey Demon's eyes bulged wide. Even on the brink of death, he couldn't believe this was happening.

Had his time actually come to an end?!

His lips parted slightly as if he wanted to say something more, but he was powerless to make a sound. He toppled backward onto the ground.

The Immortal Sword and the Dragon Spirit dissolved into two streaks of golden light, sinking back into Ruyi's Dantian in the blink of an eye.

Ruyi touched her stomach, still somewhat in a daze.

Fortunately, the Monkey Demon was dead, and she could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Pressing her lips together, Ruyi got up and walked over to where the demon had died.

By the time she drew close, the Monkey Demon had already reverted to his true form. Beneath those clothes lay an emaciated, skin-and-bones Monkey. The Iron Club rested beside him, nearly chopped in two.

"Phew..."

Ruyi immediately slumped to the ground.

She felt incredibly drained. Though she hadn't suffered any serious injuries, the sheer intensity of the encounter had completely sapped her strength.

"Is this the gap between mortals and the inhuman...?"

Ruyi had truly experienced it firsthand this time.

If not for the Sword Qi left behind by Uncle Chen, along with that Dragon Spirit, the one lying dead on the ground right now wouldn't be the Monkey Demon.

A moment later, she picked herself up and headed into the brothel.

Seeing Ruyi's pale face, Chunxiu was startled. She quickly called two girls over to help support Ruyi into a room.

"What happened to you?"

Chunxiu asked anxiously.

Ruyi let out a long sigh. "I was ambushed, but I'm fine now. The webbing of my hand was split open. Sister Chunxiu, do you have any medicine for wounds here? Could you help me apply some?"

"I'll go get it right now."

Chunxiu hurriedly fetched the medicine.

She first applied medicine to Ruyi's hand, then noticed several scrapes on her legs. They were all minor injuries, but having so many cuts and bruises couldn't be comfortable for anyone.

She had never seen Ruyi looking so battered.

Chunxiu carefully dabbed medicine onto Ruyi's cheek. "We can't be careless with your face. Don't let it touch water for the next two days, or it might scar."

Ruyi just smiled and didn't say much. She couldn't care less about scarring.

Chunxiu asked, "Your martial arts are so strong. How did you get hurt?"

Ruyi gave a helpless smile. "If it was a person, it'd be fine. But against something not human, I really had no way to fight back."

Chunxiu paused, immediately understanding.

"Are your martial arts already so incredible that even those inhuman things can't kill you?"

"My meager skills weren't nearly enough. In the end, it was all thanks to the Sword Qi Uncle Chen left in my body, along with a Dragon Spirit. That was the only way I managed to kill the Monkey Demon, otherwise I would have lost my life."

Realization dawned on Chunxiu, and she murmured, "Mister Chen..."

Seeing the distant look in Chunxiu's eyes, Ruyi decided not to bring up Uncle Chen anymore.

She had heard the other girls in the brothel talk about the history between Sister Chunxiu and Uncle Chen. It was a forbidden topic; bringing it up always made Sister Chunxiu space out and stare blankly for ages.

Just as they were talking, a woman hurried upstairs.

"Sister, there's a Young Master Jing downstairs asking for Miss Wang."

Chunxiu turned back to Ruyi. "Do you know him?"

Ruyi paused, then nodded. "Let him come up."

When Yan Nantian saw Ruyi, he was taken aback. "You're hurt?! What happened?"

Ruyi frowned. "Why are you here?"

Yan Nantian hesitated before replying, "I was worried about you, so I came to see you."

"Worried about me?"

Ruyi raised an eyebrow and sat up straighter. "Does that Monkey Demon have something to do with you?"

"What Monkey Demon?" Yan Nantian asked.

Ruyi proceeded to recount everything that had just happened from beginning to end.

Yan Nantian listened with his heart in his throat. This encounter had very nearly cost Ruyi her life.

Ruyi asked, "So you're the one who brought this disaster down on me?"

Seeing the situation, Chunxiu decided it wasn't appropriate to stay. She took the other girls and left the room.

Once the room fell quiet, Yan Nantian finally spoke. "I can't say for sure, but if you don't have any enemies, then I'm afraid it really was because of me."

"Wait, what does this have to do with me? Isn't this just an undeserved calamity?!"

Ruyi immediately said, "No way, no way. You need to leave right now. My little temple is too small to host a great buddha like you. It's one thing to attract martial artists, but you even draw in demons! I'm terrified of you."

Yan Nantian froze. He lowered his head and fell silent.

Seeing him go mute, Ruyi asked, "Cat got your tongue?"

Yan Nantian looked up, considered it for a moment, and said, "I think you're right. I really should leave."
