Chapter 623 622: An Unexpected Turn

"I was wrong! Please forgive me, Saint Prince!"

As he said this, Lu Family's Great Elder, Lu Yunxiao, actually fell to his knees.

He was begging Yang Xiao for forgiveness.

For the dignified Great Elder of the Lu Family, a Divine King Level expert, to act in such a way...

Although no one present harbored any ill will toward Yang Xiao—in fact, thanks to the influence of his Divine-Demon Body, most of them felt quite benevolent—their expressions changed drastically at the sight.

Everywhere one looked, there was nothing but shock.

Even Elder Long was somewhat surprised.

But then, he began to chuckle.

"The Divine-Demon Body is truly remarkable!"

That was right.

This was precisely the effect of the Divine-Demon Body.

It made the benevolent more devoted and the malevolent more hateful.

It was this very trait—the ability to captivate all living things and sow chaos throughout the world—that earned it the name of the perfect physique.

The Divine-Demon Body Yang Xiao currently possessed was merely a flawed, elementary version, yet it had such an effect. It was hard to imagine the sheer presence of the original son of the Divine Emperor and Demon Emperor.

'Could it be that the falling out between the Divine Emperor and the Demon Emperor back then was also because of this child's birth?'

Elder Long vaguely considered a possibility.

As he looked at Yang Xiao again, the satisfaction in his eyes deepened.

As for the members of the Lu Family,

under the effects of the Divine-Demon Body, they all submitted one after another.

Especially since even a Divine King like Great Elder Lu Yunxiao had been affected enough to kneel and beg for forgiveness. After their initial shock and the impact of that sight, the reverence that grew in their hearts was clearly much deeper.

Coupled with that trace of goodwill,

Yang Xiao didn't even need to sense anything else.

He only had to sense his Emperor's True Body and the Power of the Emperor rapidly converging within it. He had broken through from the peak of the Early Stage of Tier Seven Divine Marquis, soaring to the Middle Stage, and then all the way to the Mid-stage Peak.

From this alone, he knew.

He had, in all likelihood, subdued the entire Lu Family.

Completely and utterly subdued.

'So this is the power of the Divine-Demon Body? It can even influence a Divine King... It's... It's truly terrifying.'

As he helped Great Elder Lu Yunxiao up and sensed the man's sincere submission, Yang Xiao felt a surge of pride but didn't let it go to his head.

After all, he knew.

This Divine-Demon Body was a double-edged sword.

Just as it could make those well-disposed toward him become incredibly devoted,

so too could it make those who disliked him despise him with equal intensity.

Therefore, Yang Xiao was keenly aware of how fortunate he had been this time.

'It seems Cousin Xuanyuan's concerns were justified. And judging by Elder Long's reaction, he also wants me to hide the power of this Divine-Demon Body. It looks like I can only use this power at critical moments.'

A thought flashed through Yang Xiao's mind.

He made his decision.

Beyond the Divine-Demon Body, Yang Xiao was also considering the Path of the Human Emperor.

Although combining the two could produce unexpected results, Yang Xiao still felt he shouldn't focus on the Path of the Human Emperor too much. His true path was to eventually become a Great Emperor, or even a Saint Emperor.

The Path of the Human Emperor...

'Now that I think about it, while every Human Emperor in history has been incredibly powerful, not a single one has managed to become a Saint Emperor. I used to think it was just because becoming a Saint Emperor was extraordinarily difficult, but now it seems it's related to the Path of the Human Emperor itself. It allows one to easily create such a terrifying clone, but by the same token, the moment popular support collapses, one's fortune is exhausted. A foundation like that is built on sand—unreliable and not the true path.'

'In any case, since I've already formed the Emperor's True Body, I'll just see where the Path of the Human Emperor takes me. There's no need to force it.'

This was Yang Xiao's decision regarding his future path of cultivation.

The Path of the Human Emperor was a good one, but it was not suitable for him.

An ordinary person, seeking only to become a Great Emperor, might be able to walk it.

But Yang Xiao was different.

His greatest enemies, were likely Great Powers at the Saint Emperor Level.

Becoming a Great Emperor was merely the starting point.

In this life, Yang Xiao had to become a Saint Emperor, or perhaps even an existence beyond that.

Only then could he have his revenge.

The mere Human Emperor Position...

If it could help him, he would take it.

But if it became an obstacle, he would abandon it without a second thought.

Just as now, having seen through to the heart of the matter, Yang Xiao decided to refocus on his own path of cultivation.

In fact, if not for two things, Yang Xiao would have made a decisive move: he would have crippled the Power of the Emperor in his main body, leaving only the Emperor's True Body to walk the Path of the Human Emperor. The first was that the Emperor's Divine Pill within him didn't greatly affect his personal path. The second was that he genuinely needed that Divine Pill to suppress the traits of the Divine-Demon Body contained within the Time Divine Pill.

'In that case, I need to make my trip to the Star God Continent happen as soon as possible. But before that, there's still one more thing to take care of.'

A thought crossed Yang Xiao's mind.

The matter with the Lu Family had now come to a close.

With Great Elder Lu Yunxiao's plea for forgiveness, the prior alliance between Yang Xiao and the Lu Family officially took effect.

Furthermore, Yang Xiao knew that because of this farcical turn of events, the Lu Family of old might have still held him in contempt.

But now, they would become his most loyal subjects.

With their support, combined with the Divine Marquis Level combat power of his Emperor's True Body and Elder Long holding down the fort, the entire Profound Sun Continent was now secure. As long as they weren't targeted by a Great Emperor Level existence, there would likely be no further trouble.

This place would be an impregnable fortress.

Yang Xiao could now head to the Star God Continent with peace of mind.

However, there was another reason for his visit to the Lu Family to see Elder Long, aside from negotiating the alliance. He needed to ask Elder Long to scan the Profound Sun Continent and find Xue Yi.

Although Yang Xiao's Emperor's True Body possessed Divine Marquis Level combat power, that was ultimately just combat power. Its Divine Thought was still severely lacking in comparison.

After all, Yang Xiao's Spiritual Power had yet to reach the level of a True God.

He was only at the Divinity Communication Realm, which was at the Demigod Level.

When Elder Long heard Yang Xiao's request, he did not refuse.

He nodded.

And began to scan the continent.

"I, Old Dragon, have been on this Profound Sun Continent for over a million years. Although I haven't ventured out much, I am familiar with every blade of grass and every tree here. As long as this friend you speak of is still on the continent, I can definitely find her."

Elder Long spoke with absolute confidence.

However, he had every right to be arrogant.

If a top-tier Divine King couldn't even thoroughly scan a single, ordinary continent, he would be unworthy of the title.

However, just when Elder Long thought he would find a trace of Xue Yi with a single scan, he was shocked to discover...

He had swept his senses across the entire continent, yet he found no trace of Xue Yi whatsoever.

'Could it be that my first scan was too careless, too cursory?'

With that thought, Elder Long immediately began scanning again.

But this time, he still failed to detect Xue Yi's presence.

And so, Elder Long began a third time.

And the moment this third scan began, he sensed something.

His expression changed dramatically.

It was as if some cataclysmic event had occurred.
