The spirit immediately stopped talking.

Her expression changed from outrage to suspicion, and she slowly followed his finger toward the Sun Shooting Bow.

"A promotion?" she repeated.

"Yes. There is a new purpose for you."

The spirit turned toward the dark star-iron bow, prepared to deliver another sarcastic remark. However, the moment her gaze settled upon the artifact, every trace of annoyance vanished from her face.

Her mouth fell open.

The golden light surrounding her body flickered violently, and her small form trembled as though she had suddenly encountered something capable of shaking the foundations of her existence.

For several breaths, she simply stared.

Then she floated closer to Bai Qingyue, her eyes widening with every passing moment.

"The Origin..."

Her voice had become a whisper.

"That cannot be right. No, it is impossible. This weapon should have disappeared during the Sundering of the Realms!"

She circled the Sun Shooting Bow once, examining the dark star-iron, the ancient runes, and the concentrated solar plasma forming its string. Her earlier arrogance had completely disappeared, replaced by an expression of disbelief so intense that even Lin Yuan found it amusing.

"How do you have this?" she demanded, turning toward him. "Where did you find the Sun Shooting Bow?"

Ku Ming’s expression changed immediately.

He had suspected that the artifact was extraordinary, but the spirit’s reaction confirmed that its origins were far more significant than he had imagined.

"You recognize this weapon?" the monk asked.

The spirit spun around so quickly that her golden hair scattered through the air.

"Recognize it? Of course I recognize it! Even if I were sealed inside a sword for another ten thousand years, I would never mistake this artifact!"

She pointed at the bow with trembling fingers.

"This is the Sun Shooting Bow, one of the most terrifying weapons to emerge from the ancient era. It was forged to gather the power of the sun and release it through a single arrow, concentrating an enormous amount of destructive force into an attack that can pierce through the defenses of powerful cultivators."

Her expression became increasingly reverent.

"According to the legends, a single strike can execute a Nascent Soul expert. If the wielder fires ten consecutive arrows and allows the solar resonance to accumulate, the resulting attack can threaten even a Peak Soul Transformation cultivator!"

Bai Qingyue looked down at the weapon in her hands.

"Such power?"

"That is only what the ancient records describe," the spirit replied. "The true limits of the Sun Shooting Bow are difficult to determine. Its power depends on the wielder, the quality of its Weapon Spirit, and the degree to which its solar resonance can be awakened."

She paused, then looked at Lin Yuan with an expression of astonishment.

"And you actually found it?"

"The fact that it’s here should answer your question already," Lin Yuan dismissively answered.

She looked as though she wanted to demand an explanation, but eventually decided that arguing with Lin Yuan about the origins of his treasures was a waste of time. After all, he had already produced enough inexplicable items to make such questions increasingly meaningless.

Instead, she turned back toward the bow.

Her golden eyes gleamed with undisguised excitement.

"If this weapon can be fully awakened, its destructive power will be astonishing. The solar plasma can burn through ordinary spiritual Qi defenses, while its concentrated attacks can pierce through many protective formations before they have time to respond."

She looked at Bai Qingyue.

"However, its true strength will depend on whether its master can draw the string repeatedly. The solar resonance must accumulate before the bow can release its most devastating attack. Without a suitable Weapon Spirit, even a powerful cultivator may struggle to control that process."

Bai Qingyue glanced at Lin Yuan, understanding finally dawning upon her.

"So that is why you summoned her."

Lin Yuan nodded.

"The bow needs a Weapon Spirit. She needs a weapon worthy of her abilities. I believe this arrangement should satisfy both sides."

The spirit immediately straightened her back, attempting to recover some of her earlier dignity.

"Naturally! As I have repeatedly explained, I am an absolute Weapon Spirit. The Human Emperor Sword was simply the vessel I reside in. It was never the limit of my potential."

She folded her arms and lifted her chin.

"Now that I have the opportunity to inhabit an artifact of the Sun Shooting Bow’s caliber, my consciousness may undergo a significant evolution. The bow’s solar resonance could help me develop abilities that were previously beyond my reach."

She paused, then added with considerable satisfaction, "In other words, your decision to summon me was extremely wise."

Lin Yuan smiled faintly.

"I am pleased that you approve."

"Of course I approve!"

"Then stop talking and get to work."

The spirit’s expression twitched.

She clearly wanted to argue, but the sight of the Sun Shooting Bow quickly distracted her. Turning toward Bai Qingyue, she bowed with unexpected elegance, her earlier childish indignation replaced by a sincere expression of respect.

"Saintess Bai, if you are willing to accept my resonance, I would be honored to become the Weapon Spirit of the Sun Shooting Bow. With your cultivation and my assistance, we should be able to awaken its full potential."

Bai Qingyue regarded the little spirit for a moment before smiling warmly.

"I would be honored to have your assistance."

The spirit’s eyes brightened.

"Excellent! Then let us begin immediately!"

Lin Yuan stepped aside, allowing the two of them to establish their connection. Although he had already expected the spirit to accept his proposal, he remained attentive to the process, prepared to intervene if the artifact reacted unpredictably.

After all, the Sun Shooting Bow was no ordinary treasure. Its power was sufficient to threaten cultivators far above Bai Qingyue’s current cultivation realm, and an improper fusion could potentially damage either the spirit or the weapon.

The spirit floated before Bai Qingyue and placed both hands against the bow’s dark surface.

For a brief moment, nothing happened.

Then her body dissolved into a brilliant orb of golden light.
