Chapter 412: Chapter 168: Xu Lei’s Nirvana

At that moment, a flicker of rage appeared in the eyes of the portly Buddha figure.

“You deserve to die!”

As he descended, he thrust a palm out toward Xu Lei.

His palm grew as it flew, transforming into a giant hand that came crashing down with a RUMBLE.

“Look out!”

Before Xu Lei could even mount a defense, Bai Ling shot forward, maneuvering her Flying Sword to block the attack for him.

But the giant palm simply swatted the Flying Sword aside.

The palm then struck at Bai Ling. BANG! Although she managed to block it, she was still sent flying.

Of course, Bai Ling wasn’t killed; she was merely knocked a great distance away.

“Bai Ling, I know of you. You are a promising talent chosen by Venerable Guan Yun himself!”

The Fat Buddha looked at Bai Ling and said, “I will not kill you, but only on the condition that you know your place. Back away at once, or I will kill you too!”

A look of astonishment crossed Bai Ling’s pretty face. She had never expected to hear such a thing.

Xu Lei was also surprised. He had asked Bai Ling about this before, and she had told him she had no connection whatsoever to Bodhisattva Guan Yun!

After all, in his past life, Xu Lei had mentioned Bodhisattva Guan Yun to Bai Ling before he died. Therefore, in this life, after they found each other again, he had made a point to ask her about it. But Bai Ling had said she’d had no contact with Bodhisattva Guan Yun at all.

Yet now, this Fat Buddha was claiming otherwise.

However, Xu Lei was given no more time to think.

After speaking, the Fat Buddha charged at Xu Lei, striking with a giant palm. Xu Lei hastily activated his black alms bowl to defend himself.

After all, this Fat Buddha had appeared from high in the sky; he was likely quite powerful.

Xu Lei certainly wasn’t arrogant enough to insist on a direct confrontation.

BANG! A deafening crash rang out, and cracks spiderwebbed across the protective light shield of Xu Lei’s black alms bowl!

Xu Lei himself was thrown backward, sent flying horizontally over the surface of the sea.

But the Fat Buddha gave chase once more, his speed incredibly fast.

Upon catching up to Xu Lei, he no longer attacked with a single palm but with both.

Each palm grew as it flew. Of course, his hands weren’t actually enlarging; it was merely his Magical Power coalescing around them, giving the appearance of giant hands. The enlarged parts were, in fact, still slightly transparent.

The two enormous palms swung through the air, creating sonic booms. As they came down on Xu Lei, it was like someone swatting a fly.

‘Is this the power of an enlightened one?’

Xu Lei’s expression turned grim.

‘Retreat!’

Xu Lei immediately flew back, riding his Lotus Treasure Fragments.

At the same time, he continued to channel power into the black alms bowl for defense. The two giant palms then rumbled as they struck the protective light shield it projected.

A deafening BOOM.

The two palms were also rocked by the reactive force, vibrating nonstop, and even their fingers wavered.

But the light shield from Xu Lei’s black alms bowl fared much worse—it shattered completely!

The black alms bowl itself nearly spun out of his control!

He still had it under control, but as he retrieved the black alms bowl, he discovered that a small portion of the Runes on the Magical Artifact had been shattered by the blow.

Xu Lei seized the opportunity. His figure shot up with a WHOOSH, flying out from between the two giant palms like a nimble Spiritual Monkey.

He was only able to escape not because he was particularly fast. Rather, it was because the two giant palms had been staggered by the recoil from striking the black alms bowl. For a moment, they lacked the power to strike at Xu Lei again.

However, the Fat Buddha once again slapped at Xu Lei from a distance.

He didn’t use both palms this time, instead concentrating all his Power into a single one.

After all, Xu Lei had already flown some distance away, and using two palms would only disperse the attack’s Power.

Xu Lei barely managed to block with his black alms bowl, but the artifact was instantly shattered.

For this strike, the Fat Buddha seemed to have used some special Dharma Gate. Runes flowed across his palm, making its Power even greater than before. Xu Lei’s entire body was sent flying.

Of course, Xu Lei used the momentum to continue his flight, managing to put some distance between them.

But the Fat Buddha caught up again, unleashing another giant palm that came whistling through the sky.

Xu Lei took out his Golden Magic Staff and conjured a Golden Dharma Shadow. While continuously flying backward, he sent a blast from the staff toward the attack.

There was a deafening BANG.

The Dharma Shadow and the giant palm collided.

Energy collided, and an explosion erupted.

In the end, it was Xu Lei’s Golden Dharma Shadow that was destroyed.

And while the giant palm was also affected, it continued to bear down on him.

Unable to dodge in time, Xu Lei was struck. He blocked horizontally with the Golden Staff itself but was still knocked away.

His internal organs shuddered from the impact, and a trickle of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.

“Quite resilient!”

The Fat Buddha now wore an annoyed expression.

He once again conjured two giant palms and slapped them toward Xu Lei, intending to crush him to death.

Xu Lei quickly dove beneath the waves, trying to hide in the ocean, but the Fat Buddha’s giant palms struck down without warning.

The blow struck the surface of the sea, sending a massive plume of water into the air. Xu Lei was blasted out of the water and sent flying.

Then, the Fat Buddha once again brought his two giant palms rumbling down on Xu Lei.

But just then, Bai Ling made her move.

She had flown back. Without getting close, she activated her White Silk Magical Artifact from a distance. It flew forward like a serpent-dragon and coiled directly around the two giant palms.

“You’re courting death!”

Feeling his palms bound and pulled by Bai Ling’s Magical Artifact, the Fat Buddha grew furious. “If that’s how you want it, then I’ll send you on your way!”

He then violently rotated his giant palms, causing the White Silk Magical Artifact to wrap even more tightly around his hands.
