Immortal after a Hundred Reincarnations

Chapter 409 167: Charm Ancestor and Buddha Master

  • Next Chapter

Xu Lei and Bai Ling soon reached the location of the two Enchantresses.

They weren't in the Capital City, but in a coastal city to the north. It was unclear what they were doing there.

Instead of approaching and observing them directly, Xu Lei and Bai Ling watched from a distance with a Telescope.

He confirmed it: they were indeed the old and young pair of Enchantresses, the very beings who had killed him several times before.

Xu Lei then began gathering materials to make explosives. He had used a considerable amount of his previous supply and hadn't had the chance to fully replenish it.

As for the two Enchantresses, while Mei Xiong was no cause for concern, the Charm Ancestor was still incredibly strong.

Xu Lei wasn't certain if his explosives could even kill it.

Therefore, he wanted to prepare as many explosives as possible.

To that end, Xu Lei emptied his Qiankun Cloth Bag and Storage Bracelet of everything he didn't currently need.

He sent everything away for storage using the Transmission Cylinder Magical Artifact. Afterward, his Spatial Magical Artifacts held only a massive quantity of explosives, along with the Golden Rod Magical Artifact, the black alms bowl, and the Lotus Treasure Fragments!

He brought nothing else.

After Xu Lei finished his preparations, he learned from Bai Ling that the Creepy Spirit had watched the two Enchantresses go out to sea.

They hadn't taken a boat; instead, they had entered the water directly and swam away.

After all, having lived in swampy regions for so long, their control over water was quite strong. The first Enchantress Xu Lei had ever encountered was skilled at water manipulation.

Afterward, Xu Lei and Bai Ling also headed out to sea. They didn't fly directly, however, as that would be a waste of Magical Power. The Creepy Spirit was keeping a constant watch on the targets, and since the Enchantresses couldn't see the Creepy Spirit, they wouldn't be alerted. This meant Xu Lei and Bai Ling could take their time.

So, Xu Lei and Bai Ling rented a large fishing boat and hired a highly experienced fisherman to captain it, setting sail to sea.

This was, after all, an ancient society; their shipbuilding capabilities weren't nearly as advanced as those on modern Earth. However, because Xu Lei had paid a premium, he secured the best boat and fisherman available. As a result, the fishing boat was still quite large.

The crew wasn't just one man, but a master fisherman leading a group of apprentices.

Xu Lei made the excuse that he and Bai Ling simply wanted to go out to sea and enjoy the ocean view.

The old fisherman cautioned them, saying there wasn't much to see on the ocean and that going to sea always carried risks.

But Xu Lei insisted and paid generously, so the fisherman didn't press the matter.

And so, on this day, a large fishing boat cut through the waves, heading out into the open sea. On deck stood Xu Lei and Bai Ling, side by side, flanked by two tall, black Human Puppets.

The ocean was truly magnificent, a display of nature's mystery that made one feel incredibly small.

Even Cultivators like Xu Lei and Bai Ling were filled with reverence when facing the vast ocean.

After all, the Cultivators of this era weren't exceedingly powerful. They hadn't even explored what civilizations might lie on the other side of the ocean.

No one had attempted such a thing in the past because the shipbuilding industry was underdeveloped. Conventional vessels could hardly reach the deep sea, let alone cross the ocean to find other continents.

And no Cultivator would waste their precious Magical Power flying over the ocean to see what was at the end.

The Magical Power of this era's Cultivators was far too precious for anyone to do something like that.

Some Cultivators had attempted to explore the ocean, but they only flew for a short distance before the sight of the endless, churning waves sent them flying back in fear.

'Since Bodhisattva Guan Yun can descend to the mortal world, does that mean I'll be able to as well, after I achieve Nirvana and attain the Dao?'

Xu Lei thought, 'After attaining the Dao, is the consumption of Magical Power no longer a concern? If so, maybe I could try flying across the ocean in the future?'

'I could see if there are continents on the other side, like on Earth. See if there are people with different skin colors.'

'Of course, maybe I could also work on developing the shipbuilding industry, level up that technology tree? Then I could take a steamship across the ocean!'

'But that would probably take many years! After all, I can't build them myself. I'd have to train these local youths and see if they could develop the technology.'

But these were just idle thoughts.

For now, at least, Xu Lei had no desire to pursue it.

He was completely focused on attaining the Dao. Everything else could wait.

As he was thinking, Xu Lei noticed some of the young crewmen stealing glances at the beautiful Bai Ling.

Xu Lei could understand. From what he knew, sailors generally didn't allow women on board when they set sail.

This was probably for safety; a woman on the ship could easily cause fights to break out.

As a result, their profession kept them away from women for long periods. They could only make up for it frantically whenever they were ashore.

Now that they were at sea, they had no access to women. And with Bai Ling being so beautiful and alluring, and them being young men, they were bound to get some ideas.

BAM.

In response, Xu Lei had one of the Human Puppets stride over, seize one of the gawking youths by the neck, and lift him into the air like an eagle snatching a chick.

"Remember, we are not people you can afford to covet."

As the mortals on the boat stared, Xu Lei said coolly, "I'm flaunting my wealth and traveling with a beautiful woman. It's not because I'm naive."

"The fact that our small group dared to board your boat and head out to sea means we have our own abilities. We are not afraid of you harboring ill intentions. If any of you get any funny ideas, you will just be asking to die!"

"I hope you have some professional ethics. You've taken my money, so do your job. You get paid to do a task! If you do, our cooperation will be pleasant, which is good for everyone. But if you insist on staining this boat with blood, it will absolutely be your lives that are lost in the end!"
