After telling the other three to hide, Xu Lei walked toward Wu Gui.

At this moment, Wu Gui was still barely holding on to his sanity, so he didn’t attack Xu Lei.

Xu Lei took all the Explosive Packages out of his Storage Bracelet and placed them near Wu Gui.

Then, Xu Lei used his Magical Power to guide a Fire Stick over and light the fuses.

After that, Xu Lei quickly retreated, rejoining Bai Ling and the other two.

At this moment, the four of them channeled their Magical Power into Xu Lei’s Black Alms Bowl Magical Artifact. The artifact flew up, emitting a golden light that shielded them from above.

Just then, the massive pile of explosives detonated.

The power of over a thousand backpack-sized Explosive Packages detonating at once was terrifying.

Wu Gui let out a short, bloodcurdling scream before falling silent, and the walls of the pocket dimension shattered one after another.

The entire dimension trembled violently, but it didn’t put much pressure on Xu Lei and his group.

When the destruction finally subsided and silence fell, Xu Lei and his group found themselves still in the desert.

Except now they were deep within it, buried under the sand.

Xu Lei and the others then released a shockwave of Magical Power. With a BANG, they blasted away the sand above and drilled their way back to the surface.

Next, Xu Lei channeled his Magical Power to scan the area beneath the sand. He had captured a trace of Wu Gui’s aura before the explosion, so he could now sense its remnants. Wu Gui was indeed dead, his body blown to smithereens.

Though it would cost him some Magical Power, Xu Lei still used his Lotus Treasure Fragments to clear away the sand patch by patch, gathering what was left of Wu Gui’s broken, charred remains.

He planned to take them back for a proper burial to lay Wu Gui to rest. It was the last thing Xu Lei could do for him.

Just then, Bai Ling suddenly spotted the corpse of a Lizard Demon up ahead.

It was the same Lizard Demon that had escaped earlier.

Bai Ling, of course, quickly retrieved its Demon Core.

Xu Lei was surprised as well. ’This Lizard Demon must have also gotten trapped in the ancient city by accident,’ he surmised.

However, the Lizard Demon’s concealment abilities were quite strong, and it had been hiding somewhere in the ancient city.

But because Xu Lei’s explosion had leveled everything, the Lizard Demon was killed—whether because it didn’t have time to defend itself or its defenses simply failed.

Next, Xu Lei and Bai Ling offered to share a portion of the Lizard Demon’s Demon Core with her two junior sisters.

However, the pair refused, saying they wouldn’t have made it out alive if not for Xu Lei, so they couldn’t possibly accept the Demon Core.

After that, Xu Lei, Bai Ling, and the other two left the desert and returned to the border city.

In the city, they once again checked into an inn. This time, it wasn’t as crowded with guests.

So, the two pairs of Dao Companions each got their own room.

"We made quite a haul this time!"

That night, in their inn room, Bai Ling leaned into Xu Lei’s arms after her bath and said, "But it’s a good thing your Divine Powers are so incredible, Master. Otherwise, an ordinary Cultivator would never have survived a situation like that."

This time, Xu Lei and Bai Ling had obtained thirteen Energy Cores from the Mummy Monsters in the desert, as well as one Inner Core from the Lizard Demon.

Xu Lei had also found a Demon Core and four more Mummy Monster Energy Cores in Wu Gui’s Qiankun Cloth Bag.

There were also some Magical Artifacts fashioned like Lotus Treasure Fragments, which made Xu Lei’s Lotus Drill ability even more formidable.

He could now control up to thirty-six of the fragments.

However, these were the only useful items. Xu Lei had no use for the rest.

But all in all, this trip’s haul had been substantial.

"I said I was going to punish you, and it starts now."

With that, Xu Lei began stripping off Bai Ling’s clothes, piece by piece. He then reached out and smacked her bottom. "Ready?"

Bai Ling feigned fear, her beautiful eyes glistening as she whimpered, "No! Please, spare me! What are you doing? Don’t!"

Xu Lei wasted no more words, immediately embracing Bai Ling and pressing her down beneath him.

「The next afternoon.」

Xu Lei and Bai Ling had been cultivating in the inn.

Since Bai Ling had again paid her respects to Xu Lei that morning, they had rested until the afternoon before heading out.

Meanwhile, Bai Ling’s two junior sisters, who had been recovering from their injuries, had also just regained some of their vitality and stepped out.

After the four of them shared a meal, the two pairs of Dao Companions went their separate ways.

Bai Ling’s junior sisters needed to return to their Daoist Temple, but Xu Lei and Bai Ling had no such plans.

The pair continued to roam the world, admiring the scenery, eating and drinking their fill, and traveling from city to city.

Of course, there was no shortage of Dual Cultivation. During their frenzied sessions of "Charitable Giving," their Origin energies flowed between them.

They also spent time refining the Energy Cores and Demon Cores they had acquired to bolster their Cultivation.

「Ten years later.」

Bai Ling still had not borne a child, merely continuing to honor Xu Lei with her body in various ways and in various places.

On this day, ten years later, inside a quiet Cultivation Room within a pleasant estate in Jiangnan.

’The True Bodhisattva Realm.’

Xu Lei retracted all of his Magical Power and opened his eyes. "I can’t believe I’ve reached the Ninth Realm so quickly!" he marveled.

Indeed. Aided by the resources from the ancient desert city and the blessings of Bai Ling’s physical devotion, Xu Lei’s Cultivation progress over the years had been delightful.

Xu Lei had now crossed the Bodhisattva Ring Realm and reached the Ninth Realm for a Cultivator of the Bodhisattva Dao: Tier One of the True Bodhisattva Realm!
