But once the moment was actually laid out for him, he got embarrassed and the words wouldn’t come out. Miu watched 0momo0 fidget there without even managing to type, and finally spoke first.
(Global) Miu: I don’t know why a newbie came here, but
(Global) Miu: For 50,000 won you can buy a server transfer pass, so hurry up and go to Eden.
(Global) Miu: Later.
Miu tossed out those lines, then immediately summoned his mount—a black tiger—and started pulling away. Just like before, Yeonhoo panicked and scrambled after him, but it wasn’t even close.
‘No. Just a little more....’
And to make it worse—

ZOMBIE WAVE!
A <B-Class Mutant Infected> WAVE has occurred in C-3! It is approaching your current location! Use caution!
A zombie wave was coming, too.
‘What do I do? I finally ran into her—somehow, anything... Ah. Right.’
A good idea flashed through Yeonhoo’s head as he chased after Miu.
‘Mail. Recipient. Miu.’
Couldn’t he just send it by mail? Hhumble had taught him, so he could write mail easily now.

A subject and a message... what the hell am I supposed to write?

Thank you for saving me
‘Do I just send it like that? But doesn’t that look too cold?’
Yeonhoo hesitated, then started typing. The beginning was hard, but once he got going, the box filled up fast.
Message
I’m really bad at this game but thank you so much for saving me actually I haven’t been playing long so I don’t know anything but you were seriously so good at shooting and you were awesome and also the fact that we met like this is fate so if you have time would you want to talk for a little bit?

But—
(Notification) Delivery failed.
(This recipient has set mail permissions to <Friends> only.)
Yeonhoo let out a miserable sigh. So if you weren’t friends, you couldn’t send mail.
‘What do I do? Do I have to send a friend request? Wow, but he’s so fast.’
Miu was already so far away he was basically a dot.
Yeonhoo wanted to add a bunch of things, but Miu was moving too fast—just keeping up was all he could do. Then he saw Miu stop in front of some enormous building.
‘A building? A town?’
It was massive—bigger than anything Yeonhoo had seen out in the field so far. As soon as Miu stood before it, the doors slowly slid open with a deep boom.
‘Is that a town?’
Right as Yeonhoo tried to get closer, a notification window popped up in front of him.

ZOMBIE WAVE!
A group of <B-Class Mutant Infected> is approaching your current location from 100m ahead! Use caution!
Right—he’d forgotten. The zombie wave was happening nearby.
When he looked up in alarm, the mutant zombies had already flooded up to the front. And they were so strong that even hovering his cursor over them made a warning pop up, and the screen washed red like it was telling him he didn’t stand a chance.
They were completely blocking the way forward, so he couldn’t even pass through, and he froze up, stuck—
Crunch.
A sound came from under his character’s feet. Yeonhoo moved his mouse and looked down. He’d stepped on a fallen branch, and at that, he couldn’t help letting out a hollow laugh.
Which tutorial tip was that again? It had been written out so kindly.
[Tip] Zombies are sensitive to sound! Be sure to equip noise-reduction shoes!
Like he’d ever have shoes like that.
But by the time he remembered, it was already too late. He raised his head to a wet, guttural noise—and met the locked-on stares of the infected horde.
Grrrrk—GRRAAAHK!!!!
In an instant, the zombies charged.
His slow-as-hell body flailed into a run, but “wave” wasn’t just a cute name—an insane number of zombies chased 0momo0 like they’d lost their minds.
‘Ah, I don’t want to die this time. Shit, okay...!’
Yeonhoo hurriedly reached out and loaded his gun. Beside him, the skeleton that had been running along so cheerfully also snapped into a combat stance, staring straight at the zombie swarm.
‘Yeah. Shoot, at least shoot, do something—’
Click. Click. Click. Click. Click.
‘...Is it... working...?’
Click. Click. Click. Click. Click.
Yeonhoo’s mouth slowly fell shut as he watched the “bullets” coming out of his gun fly like BB pellets.
You have revived in town.
5% of your gold has been deducted.
Would you like to check the list of items that were looted from you?
(Check)
“Ha....”
And just like that, Yeonhoo returned to the primordial starter town with his tin-can skeleton, wearing a sulky expression.
He stared blankly at the screen, then let out a big sigh.
‘Such a waste.’
He’d finally met Miyoung, and he’d let her slip away like this.
Still, it hadn’t been meaningless. He’d gained something.
‘Does Ms. Miyoung live there?’
He’d seen where Miu went in. And since he’d checked the coordinates right before he died, he could go back there.
He wanted to go right now and meet Miyoung again, but—
‘Can I even make it there in my current state?’
If he ran out blindly, he’d die at least thirty more times.
‘Then first... I have to get good at the game.’
Until now he’d been stumbling around not knowing anything, but that couldn’t continue. If he wanted to go meet Miyoung—if he wanted to be worthy of standing across from her—he’d have to break past “decent” by a wide margin.
Yeonhoo hurriedly searched online.

Zombie Village Perfect Beginner Guide! (feat: Must-watch for newbies!)
This. This was it.
Yeonhoo immediately played the video.
“Hello, everyone~ Today I cooked up a video for all the newcomers. You all know it, right? Zombie Village isn’t a kind game! If you start blind, you’ll just get your neck cut over and over until it’s over!”
Yeonhoo’s eyes rounded.
This person... how are they this much like a shaman?
“Today I’m going to tell you everything—everything—about the base system and the alliance system, the stuff beginners struggle with the most in Zombie Village~!”
Just like they said, Yeonhoo knew nothing, and that first greeting already stole his heart. He blew the strategy video up big on one side of his monitor. Then, with a friendly voice, the screen rolled.
“A base is basically your home! But you have to build it out in the field where everyone can see it.”
In the footage, all kinds of buildings appeared.
“You can choose the exterior and the interior design yourself! But ‘pretty’ isn’t everything. Zombie Village has a lot of freedom, so sometimes other players can break into your base and loot it! And ✧ NоvеIight ✧ (Original source) zombies can invade and nibble away at your resources, too, you know?”
Yeonhoo had seen weird fortress-like buildings in the field before—structures where you couldn’t even tell where the door was. So those had been players’ bases, walls stacked high for defense.
‘Then what does my base look like?’
Mid-video, Yeonhoo suddenly got curious about his own base. The tutorial had only shown him the inside, then immediately moved him to town.
He hit the shortcut, and he teleported straight in front of his base.
The moment Yeonhoo saw it, his eyes went round.
“...Wow.”
Yeonhoo actually admired it.
“It looks like a restroom.”
It couldn’t possibly be this shabby....
“Oh, and at the beginning, your base spawns in a random location, so I recommend using a relocation pass to move somewhere else in the field! If you got lucky and landed a good spot, sure, that’s fine—but the odds are it’s probably a bad one. Also, the terrain changes periodically, so even if you settle in a great place, you can end up dropped into a different terrain later....”
Perfect timing—the video was explaining exactly what Yeonhoo needed.
‘You can move? If I move next door to Ms. Miyoung, that’d be perfect.’
Yeonhoo pressed Enter Base, and when he saw the inside, he froze even harder in shock.
‘Fire??’
The interior that had been fine during the tutorial was burning like it had been bombed, and the bottom-right corner was exploding with notifications.
