I'm the Miyoung You Were Looking For, Lol
Chapter 56
Honestly, at first, it was a little fun.
Bug or not, every shot he fired hit a zombie, and they even got subjugated. He got so absorbed he almost understood why everyone played games.
For a second, I thought I might actually clear the WAVE.
It looked winnable. Once he poured in the mana potions he was short on and the attack buff items he bought from the shop, it seemed even more doable.
Wow, how the hell am I supposed to stop this!
But as time passed, he realized why this WAVE was marked as Danger.
No matter how many zombies he killed and subjugated, there was a limit. Even after buying every kind of protection item and equipping them, the zombies wandering nearby got drawn in by aggro and came swarming too...... It was basically a festival.
But there was a problem even bigger than the number of zombies.
“No, no, no. Guys! You can’t touch my baby rabbit!”
It was Miu, left alone on the first floor.
On Yeonhoo’s side, because he had blown up the stairs, ordinary zombies could not invade unless they were special zombies.
So Mo Yeonhoo was using his Skeleton to deal with the special zombies coming in through the ceiling, and in the time left over, he kept holding out by taking care of the small fry outside.
The first floor is hopeless, isn’t it? Ah, should I not have destroyed the stairs?
As the tower’s outer wall durability dropped, zombies started breaking in one by one, and some of them kept trying to charge toward where Miu was!
Of course, Yeonhoo had prepared for this by wrapping several tight layers of walls around Miu. But what good was that? It did not look capable of withstanding that endless wave of zombies.
Ah, what do I do....
He was killing them as soon as they approached, but now it was only a matter of time.
I can’t even keep any more under subjugation.
Subjugation skills had a monster limit, and their cooldowns were fairly long. Most of the zombies he had bound under his command at the beginning of the WAVE were dead by now, so until the cooldown came back around, he could not use subjugation.
Why won’t this end?
Were WAVEs normally this long?
He had no experience blocking one like this, so he had no idea how long he had held out, or how long something called a WAVE was supposed to last.
—KWA-BOOM!
—Guh, grrrk, grrr.
—Guuuh, guuuuuuh.
The situation was turning even more brutal.
Uwaaah... what do I do!
At last, the zombies broke through the thick wall on the first floor and pushed inside.
Mo Yeonhoo hurriedly tried to cast skills and stop them, but he could not overcome the numerical disadvantage. When he saw the zombie horde heading toward Miu, he bit his lip.
“......Those bastards....”
Soon, Mo Yeonhoo stood before the stairs that had been cut off by the explosion, like the edge of a cliff, and loaded a pheromone round while staring at the zombies.
The moment he saw the number <47> get buried under them, his body moved on its own.
“My Miyoung.”
He could not possibly stay still when they dared to touch his baby rabbit. Mo Yeonhoo fired the pheromone round in one breath.
—Pew, boom!
An alert immediately popped up.
(Notification) Pheromone effect has activated. Nearby zombies will focus on the user of the pheromone round.
As soon as Mo Yeonhoo fired, the zombies snapped their heads around rapidly. The zombies that had been clinging to Miu just moments ago charged toward Yeonhoo as if they had been waiting for it.
Yeah, don’t touch Miyoung. Look over here!
He had succeeded in pulling aggro.
Mo Yeonhoo stood at the edge of the stairs, counting the bombs he had and calculating how to throw them so they would hit neither him nor Miu as much as possible, and which zombie he should subjugate once the cooldown ended....
—Tu, tatadada!
Then he heard a strange sound. Mo Yeonhoo shouted in horror.
“They’re c-climbing the walls?”
He was sure ordinary zombies could not climb walls, except for special zombies.
But now.......
—Tadadadadada!
Dozens of zombies were crawling up the inner wall and rushing toward Mo Yeonhoo!
Elite zombies?!
That was right. WAVEs did not only produce special zombies. Elite zombies stronger than ordinary ones were mixed in too!
They can climb inner walls?! That’s fucking terrifying!!
Seeing several of them—not just one or two—charge at him as if they had been waiting was horrifying, like a scene from a horror movie.
—Kraaaak!
As he stared in shock, a loud noise hit his ears. The moment he whipped his head around, he came face-to-face with a zombie.
Ah, I got bitten!
Since he had frozen in shock, getting bitten by the rushing zombies had been inevitable.
—Bang, bang, bang bang bang!
He hurriedly fired his gun and cast skills, but it was already too late.
(Notification) MP is low! Recover mana immediately!
(Notification) MP is low! Recover mana immediately!
(Notification) MP is low! Recover mana immediately!
Because he had used up all his mana, he could not use his skills, and his damage rotation got tangled.
He hastily drank a potion, but after using an MP potion, he could not use an HP potion for a while, so in the meantime, his HP dropped in huge chunks.
(Notification) HP is low! Recover health immediately!
(Notification) HP is low! Recover health immediately!
(Notification) HP is low! Recover health immediately!
The cooldown still isn’t back....
His health hit bottom in an instant. At the thought that not a single thing was easy, Mo Yeonhoo’s face turned gloomy.
He had held out so well until now, only to die this pointlessly.
Is Miu okay?
He lifted his head slightly, but his field of vision was already packed full of zombies, so he could not see.
Still, as long as the pheromone effect lasted, Miu would be safe.
(Notification) Warning! Vitality is below 20%. You may die to the next attack.
The problem was him.
I’m screwed.
He was struggling, but it seemed this was his limit. His HP was draining overwhelmingly faster than he could chug potions, and because he had been bitten by zombies and caught a poisoned-status debuff, the screen had turned red.
In the end, I couldn’t protect him.......
No matter how much Miu suspected him of being a spy, no matter how hateful his words were, Yeonhoo had wanted to protect him. But with Yeonhoo’s judgment and skill, it looked like that had been impossible after all.
(Notification) Warning! Vitality is below 10%. You may die to the next attack.
Now I’m going to die.
Before he knew it, his remaining HP was nearly gone. Usually, once that warning appeared, the next hit killed you, so Mo Yeonhoo stopped trying to squeeze out skills with MP he did not have and tried to accept death.
—Bang!
Then he heard a gunshot.
What was that?
But because of the choking groans of the zombies, he could not be certain. Had he misheard?
—Bang!
But as if proving it had not been his imagination, a clear shot rang out once again. The moment Mo Yeonhoo’s eyes widened, the zombie in front of him slid down to the floor.
“Huh?”
What? Why did the zombie.......
—Bang, bang, bang!
Exactly three more gunshots sounded. And each time, one zombie near Mo Yeonhoo went down.
Five gunshots in total, and five zombies pitched face-first onto the floor.
Mo Yeonhoo knew someone who shot like this.
Someone who fired five shots and dropped five people, then reloaded.
—Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!
Someone who fired five more shots again.
—Dududududu...!
The rotational whir grew loud. At the familiar sound, Mo Yeonhoo’s eyes sparkled as he raised his character’s head.
“Wow.”
Then he let out a small laugh. It slowly entered his field of vision. First the drone, and the long arm hanging from it, and then.......
(Alliance) Miu: I have a lot I want to ask.
(Alliance) Miu: But I’ll confirm just one thing.
The person aiming over here with a long sniper rifle in his hands!
(Alliance) Miu: Which bas//tards messed with us?
Miu, leader of <47>, had woken up.
