I'm Just a Cat! (P.S. My Stand is a Menace)
Chapter 360 - 5: You’ll Raise a Demon King
Chapter 360: Chapter 5: You’ll Raise a Demon King
"Sorry for the trouble." Fubuki lowered her head in apology.
Superalloy Darkshine scratched his cheek. "No, I’m not really angry. Come to think of it, I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere."
"I’m B-Class Rank 1, Blizzard of Hell. Though I really don’t like bringing this up, S-Class Rank 2, the Tornado of Terror, is my older sister."
Fubuki looked down at the little cat who might be her niece and saw Yimi curiously circling around her.
The kitty’s luck was the real deal! She had only just been wondering how to find the younger sister of that green-haired dumbass version of Madoka, and now the real person had appeared right in front of her!
"Younger sister? She’s the younger sister, not the older one?" Superalloy Darkshine glanced down at Yimi.
Your aunt came to pick you up and you’re still saying you’re not Tatsumaki’s daughter.
"You’re, Blizzard of Hell." Yimi pointed at her and asked.
She knows me?
Fubuki reached out and patted Yimi’s head over the witch hat. "Little girl, how old are you?"
She looked about seven. The timing did not quite match. Surely Fubuki had not been away from home for that long, and her sister could not have had a child in her early twenties...
"Two." Yimi held up a V sign.
She’s two?! Somehow, the timing almost works!
No, in this world, that was not even especially remarkable. After all, her sister had stopped growing after being taken away by those people when she was young. Who knew whether her daughter might have undergone some similar interference with her growth?
Because Tatsumaki’s personality was so awful, Fubuki never even considered the possibility that Tatsumaki had adopted her.
She simply asked directly, "Are you my sister’s child? Why did you run out instead of staying home?"
"She kicked me out."
The moment the subject came up, Yimi got angry. She had not even bothered denying that first claim before she started condemning Tatsumaki. Even if it had not really been the kitty’s home in the first place, she was still going to say it.
"She said she was hungry and told me to cook for her. Then I made something she didn’t like, so she kicked me out."
So many people liked it. You’re the only one who didn’t. And you got angry just because you didn’t like it.
"That’s awful." One of the subordinates behind Fubuki covered his mouth.
Fubuki frowned slightly, because that was exactly the sort of thing she could imagine her sister doing.
"Also, you patted my head, so you have to give me food." Yimi pointed at her, making sure to emphasize this first.
That dark-skinned guy from earlier had not given her anything. Fortunately, the kitty had the Scales of Injustice. Her Storage Space now contained a chicken breast that had originally been sitting in Superalloy Darkshine’s refrigerator.
"Are you hungry?"
Fubuki took Yimi’s hand. "Do you have psychic powers like my sister?"
"Psychic powers?" Yimi tried using the Adaptive Power she had gained after arriving in this world.
Although Adaptive Power had taken the form of psychic powers, perhaps that was simply because Yimi had always liked projecting mana outward. In any case, humans in this world were not limited to psychic powers alone.
For example, Superalloy Darkshine, who had already said goodbye and left, relied entirely on physical strength. His muscles were supposedly so dense that even a drill could not injure him.
Besides that, there were heroes who used martial arts, genetic mutations, equipment, or simply modified their entire bodies into machines. But for Yimi, who liked projecting mana outward, none of those probably suited her as well as psychic powers did.
Feeling the chaotic yet terrifying psychic power coming from the little hand she held, Fubuki instinctively pictured her sister’s face. She could not help letting go of Yimi’s hand, her own palm already nearly slick with sweat.
Only that woman had ever subjected Fubuki to such overwhelming pressure. There was no mistaking it.
A little monster born from a monster?
Yimi tilted her head up at Fubuki and asked the question she cared about most. "Are you the strongest?"
"I wish I were, but unfortunately I’m nowhere near strong enough to claim that title." For once, Fubuki answered in a gentle tone she had never shown in front of her subordinates.
"Aren’t you rank one?" Yimi thought she was trying to avoid the kitty’s challenge.
"You saw it on the news? I’m only B-Class Rank 1. There are still the two major classes of A and S above me. If we’re talking about who is officially recognized as the strongest, then I suppose it’s King... no, Blast."
"Mm." There were so many ins and outs to this whole "hero" business that the little cat did not understand.
Fubuki took Yimi’s small hand again. "You’re hungry, right? Aunt Fubuki will take you to get something to eat."
Actually, to get back to the car faster, she simply picked Yimi up and carried her in her arms before sitting down in the front passenger seat.
"Fubuki-sama, about this..." Eyelashes hesitated.
You’re taking her away without even saying anything to that person?
Fubuki, however, was decisive. "Leave A-City immediately."
She was like a poacher who had stolen a lion cub and was afraid the adult lion would come looking for it.
She could not imagine what this child would grow into under that suffocating woman. Just from the way Yimi had pointed at Superalloy Darkshine and called him a small fry, Fubuki could already see traces of her sister.
And she was still so young, yet Tatsumaki was making her cook. This kind of upbringing was even more suffocating than what Fubuki herself had experienced from her sister. A child this young already possessed such terrifying potential. If she grew up into a second Tornado of Terror, then...
"The car—the car won’t move!" the driver cried in panic.
"Did the engine break? No, this is..."
"I wondered who it was. Small world, Fubuki."
Naturally, Tatsumaki, now changed back into her original outfit, slowly floated down. She deliberately controlled her psychokinesis so that practically no one could see beneath her skirt.
Although she had angrily kicked Yimi out earlier, Tatsumaki still had enough sense to remember that this brat was a walking risk. So she had come back out to take her home.
She flicked a finger and tore the roof off the car, revealing everyone inside. "Finally tired of playing with these random nobodies and ready to go home? Anyway, you’re just playing house with a bunch of useless people, right? But didn’t you get the direction wrong?"
Her original purpose really had been to find the child, but compared with a kid she had picked up only a day ago, her actual younger sister Fubuki naturally mattered more.
"Enough with the mockery. For that matter, I didn’t even know when you had a child. It seems we’ve finally become as distant as I wanted."
"Hah?"
Had a child? How had she reached that conclusion?
"You may be a monster, but don’t think I haven’t grown at all during the time I’ve been away." Fubuki set Yimi down, stepped out of the car, and used psychic power to draw hurricane-force winds in from the surrounding streets, building pressure around them.
Her strength had long since reached A-Class level. She only remained in B-Class because even in A-Class there was a monster blocking the top spot, making it impossible for anyone else to become A-Class Rank 1. If she was going to hold a rank, she would be the strongest, even if it was only the strongest within one tier.
"I’ve already seen this child’s potential. She absolutely cannot be left with you. With that complete lack of maternal instinct, you’ll definitely raise a Demon King!"
Tatsumaki had been about to refute the previous sentence, but her voice caught in her throat and an anger-vein symbol appeared on her forehead. "Who has no maternal instinct?! Who’s going to raise a Demon King?!"
"Making a little child cook for you and then throwing her out because you don’t like the food makes you practically an abusive mother."
"Then you try eating what she cooked!"
"Hell Storm!" Fubuki attacked.
The air current that nearly swept through the entire block successfully landed a critical hit for exactly 0 damage on Tatsumaki.
