Chapter 160: Chapter 121: Becoming an Advanced Creature

An actual Extraordinary Being?

Why would he resort to running a street challenge scam for money?

Isn’t that just tarnishing his own image?

Gu Qing stared at the towering man before him, completely baffled.

"Senior."

Xia Shuran glanced at Gu Qing, her fine, elegant brows knitting together. With a hint of uncertainty, she said, "This guy seems to be..."

She left the sentence unfinished, giving Gu Qing a look that said it all.

Gu Qing knew what she was trying to say. He gave her a silent nod, confirming her suspicion.

As the two exchanged a look,

The man with the [Devil Muscle Man] tag floating over his head slowly approached, stopping three meters in front of Xia Shuran.

Using his startling height of over two meters, he loomed over Xia Shuran and said:

"Little lady, seeing as you’re just a girl, I can give you a chance to avoid getting hurt. Just pay for our medical expenses."

"It’s not much. A thousand each, so four thousand total."

"Otherwise, don’t blame me for getting rough and messing up that pretty little face of yours."

The man’s presence was terrifyingly powerful, his voice dripping with menace.

Faced with this towering, unfamiliar Extraordinary Being, Xia Shuran felt a knot of panic in her stomach.

After all, she had only just recently become an Extraordinary Awakened.

She was still very new to the Extraordinary World.

Aside from Gu Qing and her clan’s old ancestor, she had never met another Extraordinary Being.

She was, for all intents and purposes, completely ignorant about other Extraordinary Beings.

And the unknown often brings fear.

This fear of the unknown—of a strange Extraordinary—made a sliver of cowardice creep into her heart as she faced the [Devil Muscle Man].

But her fear quickly vanished when she remembered Gu Qing in the crowd, realizing she wasn’t alone.

’Right, with my senior here, I have nothing to fear.’

’After all, Senior is a peerless genius so powerful that he even amazed my clan’s ancestor.’

’Even if the sky falls, Senior will be there to hold it up for me...’

With that thought, Xia Shuran looked at the man before her, all fear gone, her voice filled with a playful tone:

"Sure, I agree to pay you four thousand for your medical fees."

"The problem is, you only have two injured people, but you’re making me pay for four. Don’t you think that’s a bit unreasonable?"

"How about this? You and your boss can come over here and let me punch you. Then you’ll be injured too, and I can pay you the full four thousand."

With Gu Qing as her pillar of support, Xia Shuran’s words grew bold. She completely dismissed the mountain of a man standing before her.

The man’s eyes narrowed. "Fine. You want to do this the hard way. Don’t come crying to me later."

The moment he finished speaking, he began walking toward Xia Shuran.

He didn’t walk quickly.

But he looked like a moving mountain.

The sense of pressure was overwhelming.

As the man closed in,

Xia Shuran’s first instinct was to summon her Dragon Spear from her Storage Bracelet and release her Martial Soul to face him in her strongest form.

But the thought had barely formed when she remembered all the ordinary people who had gathered to watch.

In an age where the Extraordinary World was still a secret, she couldn’t cause such a commotion in public.

Ultimately, she had no choice but to abandon the idea of using her Dragon Spear and Martial Soul, opting to fight him bare-handed instead.

One step.

Two steps.

Three steps.

The man came to a slow stop before Xia Shuran. Without a single wasted word, he raised his hand and swung it at her face.

The slap looked unremarkable.

But Xia Shuran’s senses screamed in alarm. She keenly perceived the thick strands of Qi Blood Power swirling in his palm.

’If that slap lands, I’ll be seriously injured.’

’I might even lose a few teeth and end up with a mouthful of blood.’

"WHOOSH!"

The slap cut through the air with a piercing whistle.

Already on guard, Xia Shuran snapped her body backward, the tip of her nose barely grazing the Palm Wind as she dodged the devastating blow.

The instant she dodged, she pivoted on her hips and snapped her leg out, toes pointed, in a low sweeping kick aimed straight at the man’s legs.

"THUD!"

A dull boom rang out.

Xia Shuran’s powerful shin slammed heavily into the man’s calf.

Her expression changed in an instant. It felt like she had just kicked a steel plate. Not only did her kick fail to budge him in the slightest, but a sharp, searing pain, as if her bone had fractured, shot up her own leg.

"That’s it?"

The man found it laughable.

He then curled his fingers into a tight fist and threw a vicious punch straight at Xia Shuran’s beautiful face.

He rarely hit women, but when he did, he always aimed for the face.

Because he was a sadist who enjoyed destroying beautiful things.

"WHOOSH!"

The fist, wreathed in wisps of Qi Blood Power, lunged at her beautiful face like a ravenous jackal.

Xia Shuran’s Reaction Speed was lightning-fast. Pushing off with her feet, she threw herself to the side, narrowly dodging the punch.

But before she could regain her balance, a thick leg swept toward her.

"BAM!"

The kick landed heavily on her waist. The force of the impact sent her flying into the surrounding crowd of onlookers.

Just as she was about to hit the ground,

Gu Qing tapped his foot, his figure blurring as he instantly appeared and caught her in his arms.

"Are you okay?"

Gu Qing set his junior down and asked with concern.

Xia Shuran’s waist throbbed with pain, but she grit her teeth, shook her head, and said:

"I’m fine."

"That man’s Physical Strength is clearly much higher than yours. It’s perfectly normal that you couldn’t beat him, so don’t be discouraged."

Gu Qing reassured his junior.

The man’s gaze fell on Gu Qing. Seeing that he wore the same Martial Arts Uniform as Xia Shuran and was just as absurdly handsome, his eyes instantly filled with provocation.
