The first to open was the coffin adorned with white-Golden laurel branch patterns. The lid slid open silently, spilling white mist as a foot stepped out.

The moment her toes touched the ground, the dust on the floor was pushed away by something invisible, forming a perfect circle around her. Then, her entire body floated out of the coffin.

"Lilith!"

Adeline let out a trembling voice. That was the god of Moon City; members of the Cavendish family would always add a greeting, "May Moon God Lillith forever protect you," and this was the very Lilith they spoke of.

The person who emerged from the coffin looked to be in her twenties. Her long, curly white-Golden hair cascaded down to her ankles like a waterfall. Every strand faintly glowed, resembling silk soaked in moonlight.

Her facial features were so exquisitely flawless that they felt unreal, evoking a compelling urge to kneel and worship her. She carried a divine and maternal tenderness. Her pure white robes fluttered without any wind, revealing her bare feet underneath.

Suspended in mid-air with her toes pointed slightly downward, she slowly opened her eyes.

Her deep blood-red pupils resembled solidified blood amber, holding a calm that was both all-seeing and condescending.

Her spiritual power naturally radiated into her surroundings as effortlessly as moonlight. However, to everyone present, this natural exertion felt like a heavy hammer strike.

Lilith looked at Trouble and the others nearby. With just one glance, Trouble felt his thoughts and memories being read.

The terror of his first time crossing over, the agonizing pain of having his arm severed by Quentin, and even further back, the suffocating sensation of nearly drowning in a river as a child—all of these uncontrollably surged up from the depths of his memory. It was like a book being violently thrown open, its pages flipping with a loud RUSTLE.

Trouble wanted to close his eyes, but found it completely impossible.

Signal also froze in place. I Want to Quit the Game’s mouth hung wide open, while Ye Se and Adeline’s faces turned deathly pale.

The moment Lilith’s gaze fell upon them, they instantly felt as if they had been stripped naked and placed in the center of a crowd, unable to hide anything.

"Souls of the Otherworld?"

Lilith’s lips did not move, but her gentle voice smashed heavily into everyone’s minds.

Trouble’s body jerked violently as he heard his own inner voice involuntarily answer yes.

Adeline bit her tongue, using the pain to fight against that involuntary impulse. Lilith was prying open everyone’s brains in an almost tender manner.

"Another human world?"

A hint of amusement laced Lilith’s voice, as if she had suddenly discovered an interesting Chapter in the middle of a long and tedious read.

"Interesting."

Suddenly, a figure stood up from the ruins and walked step by step to stand in front of Trouble and the others. She used her body to block the space between them and Lilith, causing their tense minds to relax.

Zoe’s red hair was a messy tangle, her face smeared with dust and blood, and her clothes were torn in several places, but she stood straight and fearless.

"Zoe!" Ian shouted from behind.

Lilith’s gaze shifted to Zoe. "A descendant of Source?"

Zoe tried hard to keep her voice from trembling. "Yes! I’m here to take back the Strength that doesn’t belong to you!"

Lilith did not get angry. She smiled, her expression as compassionate as a statue of the Holy Mother, but the words she spoke plunged everyone into an icy abyss.

"Child, what will you use to take it back?"

The moment her voice faded, Zoe directly attacked Lilith.

Currents of water surged from all directions, condensing in Zoe’s palm into an Ice Crystal Spear. It shot toward Lilith with an ear-piercing shriek as it tore through the air.

At the same time, the Weapon arrays on the ceiling opened fire simultaneously, raining down on Lilith from three directions.

Lilith did not need to dodge. With a mere thought, the ice spear and all the bullets halted in front of her, shattering into powder inch by inch. Laser beams deflected autonomously a meter away from her body, striking the walls and floor to burn out scorched black holes.

Lilith’s deep blood-red pupils shifted slightly to glance at the Weapon arrays still firing from the ceiling. The gun barrels began to twist and undergo Transformation from their bases, as if gripped by a giant hand, forcefully crumpled into scrap metal.

"Toys," she said softly.

Taking advantage of the brief moment Lilith spent dealing with the Weapons, Zoe transformed into a stream of water and appeared at Lilith’s side. Ice crystals condensed in her palms once more—this time forming two short blades. She slashed toward the back of Lilith’s neck from the left and right.

Lilith did not turn around. Her long hair fluttered windlessly as her spiritual power formed a transparent barrier. The two Ice Blades struck against it, causing shattered ice to explode outward like fireworks.

Zoe gritted her teeth. Water currents condensed once more, and she struck again at the exact same spot.

A crack appeared on the barrier.

Zoe had grown stronger. Over the previous few hours, she had remained in Source’s spiritual world, receiving her teachings and the infusion of her Strength. She had also learned all the darkest and most despair-inducing secrets about this world.

The Strength within Source’s genes awakened within her body more and more. It grew from a seed into a sapling, taking root and sprouting in her blood vessels until it matured into a towering tree. Every strike she landed was more precise and heavier than the last.

Lilith’s eyebrows twitched slightly, and then she raised her hand.

Her spiritual power coalesced into a visible silver-white brilliance spinning in her palm. With a gentle push, Zoe was blasted backward, skidding more than ten meters through the rubble.

"Zoe!"

The sound of Ian’s gunfire rang out. His bullets struck Lilith’s shield without causing even a ripple. Gritting his teeth, he continued to fire shot after shot, moving toward Zoe’s direction while keeping up the assault.

Lilith cast a glance at him, and Ian was sent flying backward as if struck in the chest by a heavy weight, slamming hard against the wall.

Lilith lowered her eyes to look at Zoe, who was struggling to crawl up from the debris. "Your generation is far weaker than ours."

Ignoring his own injuries, Ian crawled over and grabbed Zoe’s wrist, forcefully converting his own Life Force into a healing Strength to pass on to her.

Zoe forcefully shook off Ian’s hand and stood back up, looking directly at Lilith.

"And yet, weren’t you still beaten half to death by Source?!"

Lilith’s blood-red pupils contracted imperceptibly. Then, the concentration of spiritual power within the entire laboratory skyrocketed, much like the sucking back of seawater right before a tsunami.

"Shut up!"

Lilith’s spiritual power surged violently toward Zoe. Meanwhile, Zoe transformed into a literal tsunami, fearlessly meeting Lilith’s attack head-on.

"Do you really... want to see the Ancient Abyss destroyed?"

On the other side, Nan Jiamu, with blood in her mouth, used all her might to squeeze the words out of her throat. Yin Zhen’s blade was still impaled in her chest.

"You heard what she said. Souls of the Otherworld. The human world. She has the ability to open the gate to the Ancient Abyss and turn our world into a hunting ground for the Blood Clan, too. 704 died at Lilith’s hands, and the story of Chi Hai will continue. We will... we’ll be too late..."

Yin Zhen did not speak. Her blade could not pierce in even a fraction of an inch further; a Strength was constantly hindering her.

"Only by killing Zoe can we end all of this!" Nan Jiamu’s voice was laced with bloody froth. "If she dies by our hands, Chi Hai will be destroyed along with her. Whether it’s Lilith, or the things inside those other two coffins, they will all disappear along with this world!"

Yin Zhen fiercely gritted her teeth.

Of course she knew. She had known the underlying rules of this invasion game from the very beginning. But so what! When this round began, she had already gambled everything. She no longer had any way out!

Yin Zhen decisively upgraded her ’blood silk’ to S-Class, extending its duration to thirty minutes. By doing so, she would permanently lose the blood silk, and her Blood Source Resonance would fall into a three-day cooldown, during which she would be completely unable to use any other Extraordinary Abilities.

Countless threads of blood silk drilled out from the back of her hand. Each thread burned like a blood-colored fire, emitting a SIZZLING sound in the air, carrying every ounce of hatred she had accumulated over the past half year.

The moment the blood silk followed the blade and viciously pierced into Nan Jiamu’s wound, Nan Jiamu’s entire body trembled, and her pupils constricted to their utmost limits.

Unable to breach her heart, the blood silk frantically spread throughout her body. They drank her blood, gradually eating away at the meager Strength Nan Jiamu had left.

Yin Zhen violently yanked out the blade, causing blood to spurt out as Nan Jiamu crashed heavily to the ground.

"Captain—"

In the distance, Signal cried out in panic. However, the battle between Zoe and Lilith was too intense. Waves of spiritual power and surging currents of water separated them, making it impossible to hear the sounds from this side or to rush over for backup.

Bai Qiang was in the same predicament. Unaware of what was happening between Yin Zhen and Nan Jiamu, she was torn between whether to kill the innocent Zoe, or to help her fight against Lilith first.

The only thing Bai Qiang could do was use her spiritual power to prop up a barrier, protecting the others in the corner from being caught in the crossfire between Lilith and Zoe, choosing to observe how the situation unfolded first.
