Although it wasn’t my original objective, since I’d managed to get my hands on a coffee maker, I figured I might as well buy some coffee beans on the way back too.

To be honest, I don’t really know much about coffee…… well, it’s not like I know much about tea either…… Since I had no idea which beans to choose, I decided this was a case where I should ask someone who actually knows coffee.

With that in mind, I headed to Elise-san’s shop. Checking the sign on the door, it read “Open”. At Elise-san’s place, once a group of customers enters, the front sign automatically switches to “Closed”, so with the current state, there was no problem.

Her tone sounded slightly exasperated, but this was basically Elise-san’s default. She invited me to sit and listened normally, so it wasn’t like she was treating me coldly.

In fact, given Elise-san’s personality, if it were inconvenient, she’d probably just tell me to “go home” outright. If she was willing to hear me out, that meant things were fine.

When she saw the magic tool I took out, Elise-san wore a slightly surprised expression, which was rare for her. If she reacted like this, did that mean it was a fairly hard-to-obtain magic tool?

Muttering with a fed-up look, Elise-san still examined the coffee maker magic tool with obvious interest.

As a coffee lover, clearly very curious about how good the latest coffee maker could be, Elise-san immediately accepted my suggestion and promptly brought over coffee beans, filters, and coffee cups.

Seeing how interested she was, I quickly set the beans she brought into the machine and tried using it.

[I see, it can even adjust the grind size to some extent, even if it’s a bit rough. This really raises my expectations. Human-san actually does something nice once in a while. As a thank-you, I’ll prepare some cake too. You should eat some.]

She really does seem to love coffee. Elise-san, unusually high-spirited, brought over some cake and set it in front of me.

While we were doing that, the coffee finished brewing, so we poured it into cups and tried it right away. The aroma was good and the taste was nice…… but since I couldn’t really tell the finer details, I decided to watch Elise-san’s reaction instead.

Elise-san took a sip of the coffee and nodded with an impressed expression.

[……This is quite something. Even for someone as picky about coffee as me, it tastes reasonably good. Of course, when I brew it myself, I can fine-tune things more and the flavor is better…… but for a fully automatic machine to produce this level of taste is impressive. It’s better than the coffee at some mediocre cafés or coffee shops. You can really feel the progress of technology.]

[Espresso too? I suppose it can grind extremely fine, and if it applies pressure with magic, then espresso as well…… It’s amazing that this one machine can do so many things. I’m impressed.]

Watching Elise-san sip her coffee with a faintly cheerful air, I enjoyed my own coffee as well, eating the cake she had prepared that paired perfectly with it.
