I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 84: Tie Feng, You Still Claim You Aren't an Angel Believer?
"Mr. Su, you..." Tie Feng's expression changed wildly. He didn't even dare finish the thought. If Su Mu were the Angel Believer, would any of them Demon Believers make it out alive?
Facing the crowd's fearful, suspicious stares, Su Mu smiled faintly. "If I were an Angel Believer, would I have insisted on inspecting everyone? Or brought up the possibility that one of them might still be alive?"
With that, he gently rolled up his left sleeve. A small patch of rotting flesh was clearly visible on his forearm!
Everyone immediately breathed a sigh of relief. If Su Mu had been the Angel Believer, none of them believed they could have killed him.
But if it wasn't Su Mu, who was the Angel Believer?
"Tie Feng, you inspected everyone else just now," Su Mu suddenly said. "Now let everyone see your wound too."
Tie Feng nodded. "Of course, Mr. Su," he said respectfully.
He agreed out loud, but inwardly he grumbled at Su Mu's pointless request. Out of everyone there, he was dressed the most scantily. He wore a tight black tank top that left his arms and chest largely exposed. When the rotting started earlier, his clothing couldn't have hidden it anyway, and everyone had already seen it. But since Su Mu had given the order, he didn't dare refuse.
He nonchalantly pulled up his tight black tank top and turned around, exposing the wound on his back.
"You all see it? I'm a Demon Believer, just like the rest of you." Tie Feng casually let his tank top drop. As he turned back around, he added, "It seems breaking this curse requires some other hidden condition on top of killing the Angel Believer... What's with those expressions?"Tie Feng froze. Everyone was staring intently at him with bizarre expressions—shock, fury, and deep suspicion.
His heart skipped a beat as a sickening sense of foreboding rose within him.
"Wait..."
"Blazing Sun Chains!" a middle-aged man in a leather jacket roared.
A chain forged of magma materialized in his hands and instantly snapped around Tie Feng.
Tie Feng panicked. "What the hell are you doing?! I'm a damn Demon Believer! I'm on your side!"
"Still trying to lie? That's clearly a burn mark on your back!"
"Bullshit!" Tie Feng struggled violently, a metallic sheen washing over his skin. "Mr. Su, you have to believe me. I really am a Demon Believer. You all saw it when we started rotting earlier." He pleaded anxiously with Su Mu, desperate to prove his innocence.
Su Mu naturally knew Tie Feng had been falsely accused. After all, the only person who knows just how innocent you are is the one who framed you.
Tie Feng wasn't the Angel Believer—Su Mu was. The burn on Tie Feng's back was merely an illusion he had conjured using Myriad Phenomena.
"Mr. Tie, perhaps you really were a Demon Believer at first, but you changed factions halfway through," Su Mu said. "Angels represent goodness. Perhaps stepping forward to help everyone break the curse just now is what turned you into an Angel Believer.
"You don't need to explain. Words are useless now. After all, the burn mark on your back doesn't lie."
Su Mu gave a soft sigh, as if he truly felt sorry for the man.
Tie Feng stared in utter disbelief. Factions could change? 'But I just killed someone to save my own damn life!'
"Hurry up and kill him! I can't hold him for much longer!" the man in the leather jacket shouted.
The others immediately sprang into action, swarming Tie Feng. Jun Wushang drew his longsword. "Peerless Sword Dance!"
The snow-white sword light slashed through the air like a bolt of silk, thrusting viciously toward Tie Feng's eyeball. He knew the man had a body of steel, so he aimed for the eyes.
"Ahhh!" Facing the barrage of attacks, Tie Feng let out a savage roar. The metallic sheen spreading across his skin deepened, and his muscles swelled like inflating balloons.
Crack!
The Blazing Sun Chains snapped in half.
However, instead of retaliating, the freed Tie Feng cast a terrified glance at Su Mu and sprinted away. He knew perfectly well that with Su Mu leading the Demon Faction, there was no way a lone Angel Believer like him could win. His only option was to run.
The crowd naturally wasn't about to let him escape. They swarmed after him in pursuit.
Watching Tie Feng flee in a panic, an amused smile tugged at the corner of Su Mu's mouth. He had to admit, the man was incredibly strong—a full league above Yang Dongqing. The burn marks left by the Blazing Sun Chains were already mostly healed as he ran. This was clearly the power of Ceaseless Recovery at work.
But strength alone was useless. Real battles weren't won through brute force.
Tie Feng was fast, given that all his abilities were physical enhancements, but the transcendents chasing him were no slouches either. One of his pursuers suddenly skidded to a halt, took a deep breath, and unleashed a massive roar.
Ooommm!!
A piercing screech erupted from the man's throat. The surrounding air vibrated eerily as a powerful sonic wave blasted toward Tie Feng.
"Ah!" Tie Feng shrieked. He clutched his head in agony and crashed to the ground, streams of red blood trickling from both of his ears.
The moment he fell, a barrage of attacks struck him. Multiple magma chains bound him tightly, searing his skin and releasing the stench of burning flesh. Jun Wushang's sword flashed with a brilliant white light as he slashed viciously, leaving several gashes across Tie Feng's body, cutting deep down to the bone. But that was all it did; the blade couldn't sever the bone.
Yang Dongqing threw a couple of token punches before stepping back in utter dismay. He had just realized that he was easily the weakest person in the group. Even though he had fully mastered Heart of Steel, he couldn't break through Tie Feng's defenses at all. Striking the man felt like smashing two blocks of iron together.
Everyone else's attacks, on the other hand, had done actual damage. Even the cowardly-looking Daoist Jun Wushang had managed to hack into Tie Feng's flesh.
No wonder Heart of Steel was only Sequence 9. The ranking existed for a reason.
Meanwhile, the man who had fired the sonic wave pulled out a bizarrely shaped silver revolver. The barrel was extraordinarily long, roughly the size of a baby's arm, and its gleaming silver surface dazzled in the sunlight.
Bang!
A silver bullet shot toward Tie Feng's head. On the ground, Tie Feng felt a hair-raising surge of lethal danger. He thrashed out of the way with all his might, and the bullet missed his skull, plunging into his chest instead.
A bloody flower blossomed on his chest. His proud body of steel had completely failed to stop the bullet.
"A Mithril Bullet?!" Tie Feng's face twisted in panic. He was obviously terrified of that gun.
"Tie Feng, for the sake of everyone's lives, we're going to have to ask you to die." The man with the silver revolver stepped forward slowly, aiming the gun at Tie Feng's head.
Tie Feng's eyes went wide with furious panic. He struggled desperately, but there were simply too many magma chains pinning him down. There was no way he could break free in time.
