I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World

Chapter 513: Perhaps I Should Call You... Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws!

Boom—!

An indescribable force suddenly tore the clear blue sky apart.

A twisted fissure tore across the horizon, its edges flashing with eerie purplish-black lightning. Countless vile Nightmare Creatures writhed and struggled madly within the rift.

These were none other than the Nightmare Creatures The Gods had once sealed in Hell!

As the God of Nightmares, how could Su Mu not have his own underlings?

But it did not end there. An even more terrifying scene unfolded as bizarre ravings seeped from the rift, sounding like the whispers of countless evil gods.

Towering abyssal evil gods, massive as mountains, broke free of their confinement. With their appearance, the Three Thousand Laws of heaven and earth were recklessly stirred as if by an invisible hand, and an indescribable aura of chaos blanketed the world.

"You have human Transcendents, and I have Nightmare Creatures. You have the Demigod Realm Law, and I have Abyss Demigods. When the conditions are equal, your advantage vanishes." As the sole True God in the world, Su Mu naturally had the confidence to speak such words.

Wuming's face remained calm, as if he were not the least bit surprised.

"When making an enemy of the God of Nightmares, how could I not anticipate Nightmare Creatures? Since you have played all your cards, I will let you see my final Law."

The moment he spoke, a brilliant golden light flashed above the five Great Webs of Law. It erupted like a cosmic explosion, filling the sky with golden lightning.

Within that lightning, ten massive stars descended, their scale surpassing the limits of human vision.

They cast down giant golden chains. The other ends of those chains were astonishingly connected to... the Primal Angel, the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity, the Twisted God, the Void Mother Hive, the Bone Gate God... ten True Gods!

These deities, whom Su Mu had previously killed one by one, had now resurfaced in the world.

"Su Mu, thank you for clearing the world of all the gods for me. It is exactly because of you that I was able to construct the strongest Law in this world—Divine Law!"

As it turned out, Wuming had lied. Those deceased gods had never returned to heaven and earth to revert into rules; instead, they had been transformed into Divine Law.

The ten gods illuminated the world. The radiance they emitted eclipsed everything, shining as brightly as ten suns rising simultaneously—dazzling to the extreme.

Bathed in the light of the gods, Su Mu and his nightmare army panicked, like rats in a gutter exposed to sudden sunlight.

Even the Nightmare Creatures and Abyss Demigods felt an uncontrollable, instinctive fear when they looked directly into the divine radiance.

Many years ago, a scene just like this had occurred once before. That was... the War of the Gods!

Now, history was repeating itself.

The moment the ten gods appeared, Su Mu's defeat was sealed.

Back then, Xuan Tian, the God of Nightmares, had been torn to pieces by The Gods in exactly this manner, ultimately forced to flee into the Dream World to survive. But now, locked onto by the Law, Su Mu could not even retreat into the dream.

This was also why Wuming had insisted on waiting until the exact moment Su Mu fused with the Creator's Authority to strike.

He was preventing the outcome of the last War of the Gods from happening again.

There was only one person in the world who could bring the Creator's Authority out of that illusory dream, and that person was Su Mu.

As long as Su Mu wanted to fuse with the Creator's Authority, this step was simply unavoidable.

"Brilliant," Su Mu praised. "You laid out this trap right from the start, sitting back and waiting for me to become a God and fuse with the Creator's Authority, because I am the only one who can bring it out. And the moment I truly fused with it was the moment you reeled in the net.

"Great scheme, great methods, Wuming... No, perhaps I should call you... Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws."

That name seemed to hold a magical power, bringing the previously roaring world to a sudden silence.

Wuming stood before millions, beneath the gods. A light breeze slowly blew away the traces of humanity on his face, and a touch of indifferent Divinity filled his eyes.

"Have you finally realized, Xuan Tian?"

A mighty divine voice, transcending human vocal cords, issued from Wuming's mouth—or more accurately, from the Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws!

Su Mu smiled faintly. "Not 'finally.' I realized it a long time ago."

The Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws cast an indifferent gaze toward him. "When?"

"When I wiped out the Primal Angel's consciousness." Su Mu kept his smile as he looked at the Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws wearing Wuming's face. He spoke slowly. "From the very beginning, I noticed something off about Wuming. His behavior was deeply contradictory. When sealing the Primal Angel, he clearly could have dealt with Pope Zero quickly, yet he kept dragging it out until the Primal Angel awoke.

"In the end, it still fell on him to invoke the Three Thousand Laws to reseal the Primal Angel.

"I pondered Wuming's motives back then. The master of the Temple of God Slaying shouldn't make that kind of mistake. Later, I understood: his goal was to show off the source of his power, which is you... Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws."

The Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws remained silent.

"Wuming is a man of few words, yet he repeated one sentence over and over: 'You must wipe out the god's consciousness.' He wasn't really telling me to wipe out the Primal Angel's consciousness, but rather the consciousness of the Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws hidden inside his own body!"

"You concluded that based on just this?"

"Of course there's more. The inconsistencies actually started the moment I stepped into Heaven. Why were all the gods in Heaven stuck in deep slumber? Perhaps it was due to the War of the Gods, but it felt far too convenient.

"Furthermore, my process of becoming a God went entirely too smoothly. The Xuantian Origin practically lined up and delivered itself to my doorstep, as if a giant hand were manipulating everything from behind the scenes. Maybe I'm just a bit sensitive to it because I do this sort of thing all the time myself," Su Mu said with a laugh.

"Even though you used Wuming to put on a show at the end, it only deepened my suspicions.

"Wuming once said that the Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws died—died right after the War of the Gods ended. Yet in that divine war, Xuan Tian, who held the Creator's Authority, was only shattered. His consciousness was scattered into billions of fragments, transforming into the living beings of the Divine Dream World. You, on the other hand, supposedly died completely, turning into the Three Thousand Laws while a small fraction of your origin was obtained by Wuming.

"But when the Primal Angel died, it completely dissipated. There are just too many inconsistencies. One time might be a coincidence, but when so many coincidences pile up, it becomes a certainty.

"You never died. Your consciousness is scattered across the Three Thousand Laws and within Wuming's body, controlling everything from behind the scenes."

"It seems my puppet did many things he shouldn't have behind my back," the Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws said indifferently. "It's just a pity that you didn't do as he wished. That was your only chance to ever defeat me."

Su Mu shook his head instead. "You're wrong. If I had actually done as he wished, I really would have lost for sure. I hadn't become a God yet at the time—how could I have fought against you, a deity?"

"You are a God now, but you still cannot defeat me. During the War of the Gods, did you really think you snatched away the Creator's Authority based on your own strength? That was merely me letting you take it." The Heavenly Venerate of Myriad Laws slowly revealed the hidden secrets of the past.
