I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World

Chapter 492: No Need to Sing, We're on the Same Side

Warrior Monk stared at Wuming, dumbfounded, as if he had just discovered a new continent. "Temple Master, are you okay after saying so many words at once?"

"Shut up, Warrior Monk!"

After snapping at Warrior Monk, Wuming turned his gaze back to Su Mu, waiting for his answer.

Su Mu gently shook his head. "I can't break this illusion array."

"Ah?" Warrior Monk's face fell. "Then didn't I say all that for nothing?"

Su Mu ignored him and continued, "This illusion array uses the power of the Primal Angel as its core. The Pope must have drawn upon that power, which means it can only be broken from the inside. If the Primal Angel's power supply is cut off from within, the illusion technique will naturally dissolve."

Wuming furrowed his brows. "Then there's no way. This isn't an ordinary illusion array meant to make people lose their way; its sole purpose is to brainwash anyone who enters. The only way to cross it and enter the heart of the Divine Realm is to be completely brainwashed and become a believer of the Primal Angel."

Su Mu smiled slightly, picking up where Wuming left off. "But once you become a believer of the Primal Angel, even if you make it inside, you wouldn't cut off the power supply. Instead, you'd join Heilong and the Pope."

"Then what do we do?" Warrior Monk blanched, his expression highly exaggerated. "Are we supposed to just watch helplessly as they awaken the Primal Angel in there?"

Huangquan said expressionlessly, "They won't be able to awaken the Primal Angel in just a few short years. As far as I know, there are about a hundred thousand Primal Cultists inside the Divine Realm, all brought in by the Pope. These cultists pray to the Primal Angel every day, trying to wake it up.

"The Pope and Heilong intend to bring even more cultists inside to accelerate the Primal Angel's awakening. Right now, the only solution is to kill all the Primal Cultists on the outside, and then kill the Pope and Heilong when they emerge."

Su Mu looked thoughtful. So that was why Warrior Monk had been out killing Primal Cultists earlier.

The more cultists there were, the faster the Primal Angel would awaken?

Thinking it over, it made sense. Imagine a swarm of tiny bugs constantly buzzing—praying—in your ears. Even if you were sleeping soundly, you'd eventually be woken up as long as there were enough bugs.

"No, there's another way," Su Mu said with a smile.

The trio's gazes instantly fixed on him. Wuming asked, "What way?"

"I'll enter the illusion array and break it from the inside."

As soon as he said this, all three of them frowned.

"Newcomer, wanting to earn some merit is a good thing, but this isn't a joke," Warrior Monk said, shaking his head repeatedly. "You'll become a believer of the Primal Angel the moment you go in. How could you possibly break the illusion array? If you ask me, you'll definitely end up helping them strengthen it instead."

"I'm different from you all."

Warrior Monk gave Su Mu a surprised look and agreed, "Indeed you are. You're the only one among us who isn't a demigod."

In that moment, Su Mu finally understood why Wuming was always telling Warrior Monk to shut up.

Ignoring Warrior Monk, he continued, "I excel in illusion techniques. I can use an illusion to create a second personality and have that second personality believe in the Primal Angel. Once I'm inside, my primary personality can simply erase the second one."

"Are you sure?" Wuming asked with a frown.

Su Mu smiled and nodded. "Naturally. I wouldn't joke around with my own life."

Wuming gave Su Mu a deep look. "If you succeed, I will help you find Fallen Sin Maitreya," he said solemnly.

Hearing this, Warrior Monk was hit by a wave of envy. "Newcomer, you've hit the jackpot. With the Temple Master personally taking action, it'll be an absolute breeze."

"We can talk about that after I succeed." Su Mu stepped forward, walking toward the illusion array.

The three from the Temple of God Slaying watched his back until he completely disappeared from sight.

A moment later, Warrior Monk's irrepressible mouth opened again.

"Temple Master, do you think this kid can pull it off? Why do I get the feeling he's just marching to his death? His method doesn't sound very reliable."

"Shut up, Warrior Monk."

...

...

Inside the illusion array.

Su Mu looked around with great interest. At this moment, it felt as though he had arrived in Heaven as described in the Primal Scripture. The sky was as clear as a sapphire, and soft sunlight cascaded down, carrying just the right amount of warmth.

Beneath his feet were pure white clouds, offering a squishy, sinking comfort akin to stepping in soft dung.

Suddenly, a magnificent white jade palace appeared deep within the clouds. It radiated a holy light, and a beautiful hymn drifted on the wind, carrying a bewitching, mind-altering magic.

At that moment, a voice echoed continuously in Su Mu's mind: Praise the Primal Angel!

"Alright, alright, I'm already praising it," Su Mu replied, brushing it off casually.

Just then, an angel with a stunningly beautiful, androgynous face and pure white wings on his back walked out of the palace, gazing at Su Mu with loving affection.

"Child, have you come to see the great Primal Angel?"

Su Mu said nothing, quietly watching the angel put on his act.

The angel continued in a gentle tone, "Only the most devout believers can see the great Primal Angel. Your faith is not yet devout enough. But do not worry, I will help you. Come... chant the hymn with me."

Without another word, he started singing. Eerie syllables continuously drilled into Su Mu's ears, piercing straight to his soul.

Holy light surged from the angel's body, illuminating Su Mu.

Watching the angel sing so vigorously, Su Mu smiled slightly. The space between his brows suddenly split open, revealing the Silver Vertical Pupil. An indifferent, sacred gleam of divinity shot up into the sky. In that moment, the holy light surging from his body was actually brighter than the angel's.

The angel instantly froze, his voice coming to an abrupt halt.

Su Mu slowly walked toward the angel with a smile on his face. "No need to sing, we're on the same side."

He patted the angel's stiff shoulder and walked right past him.

The angel: "..."

In truth, all that talk about creating a second personality had been a lie. Su Mu had simply made up an excuse on the spot.

To him, entering this illusion array was no different from going home. Since he possessed the Primal Angel's divinity, strictly speaking, he was already considered the most fanatic of all fanatics. He even suspected that the Primal Pope of Heaven might not possess as much divinity as he did.

After all, when he was in Hell, Su Mu had been a Primal Divine Envoy, commanding a million Primal Cultists. He had even set up his own divine statue next to the Primal Divine Statue to gather faith for himself.

Su Mu quickly stepped into the palace. The interior was incredibly expansive and devoid of any structures. A mysterious and profound hexagram array was carved into the pure white floor beneath his feet, while a massive silver eye rested upon the dome above. Its appearance was identical to the Divine Pupil between his brows.

The moment he stepped onto the center of the hexagram array, the giant silver eye on the dome cast down a brilliant holy light, illuminating his body.

It was trying to assimilate Su Mu, attempting to convert him into a fanatic believer.

Feeling the Primal Divinity within his body rapidly expand, Su Mu smiled. Was this an illusion array or a blessed sanctuary?

Does the Primal Angel know you guys are aiding the enemy?
