I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 490: The Master of the Temple of God Slaying Only Knows Three Sentences
"Newcomer, you must learn from me. You have to speak more, or sooner or later you'll become like them."
"Is that the influence of the Demigod Realm on you all?" Su Mu asked.
The Warrior Monk nodded. "You must have felt it when you fused with the Divine Corpse. As you fuse with more Divine Puzzles, the divine consciousness inside you will gradually awaken further.
"Divinity and humanity will come into conflict. Once Divinity overpowers humanity, human emotions will gradually fade, and you will no longer be yourself.
"At its most severe, it might even lead to the revival of the god within your body!
"But you don't need to be afraid. After years of research, I've discovered a secret to maintaining humanity. I don't tell just anyone, but seeing as we hit it off today, I'll give it to you for free.
"That secret is to speak more human words!"
Su Mu said nothing.
"Hey brother, don't stop talking. You're already this quiet before even reaching the Demigod Realm. What will you do after you become a demigod? I'm worried for you.
"Really, don't brush this off. The consequences of Divinity overwhelming humanity are terrifying. Look at the Master—he's basically lost the ability to speak. Now he only knows how to say three things."The Warrior Monk imitated Wuming's expression, keeping a straight face as he snapped, "Shut up, Warrior Monk! Get out, Warrior Monk! Scram! Seriously, those are the only three sentences he says."
Su Mu shot a glance at Wuming out of the corner of his eye. A single vein throbbed faintly on that calm, handsome face.
The Warrior Monk cautiously glanced at Huangquan and lowered his voice even further. "I'll tell you a secret, but don't tell anyone else. I've always suspected that the least human person in the entire Temple of God Slaying isn't actually the Master, but Huangquan!
"Huangquan used to be such a kind old grandmother. Just look at her now, she's practically— Ah!!"
The Warrior Monk vanished again. It was as if he had stepped on a loose manhole cover while walking in a group, dropping straight down in a flash. By the time anyone looked back, he was simply gone.
Su Mu watched the black rift slowly seal shut, sighing inwardly. Badmouthing other demigods right in front of them—how was that any different from plotting out loud?
If anyone had to be named the least human in the Temple of God Slaying, it would definitely be you.
The Warrior Monk didn't return after this disappearance. Heaven only knew where Huangquan had thrown him.
Even when they reached their destination, the Warrior Monk was nowhere to be seen.
"Where is this...?" Su Mu looked around in surprise. The three of them had appeared atop a glacier.
Gazing out from the glacier, an endless expanse of ice spread wildly in all directions. It looked like a massive splash of silver ink casually tossed down by a Creator, ruthlessly dominating the entire field of vision between heaven and earth.
Gale-force winds carried a blizzard with them, tearing across the ice fields like enraged behemoths and unleashing mournful, shrill howls.
What surprised Su Mu wasn't the frozen wasteland itself, but the fact that there was absolutely nothing here. Aside from the extreme weather, the place lacked any divine or mystical qualities.
"You can't see it. Our true destination lies in a dimension above this ice field," Wuming's calm voice pierced through the freezing wind, reaching Su Mu's ears.
"Hold your breath and focus. Feel the frequency of the gods with your mind, and commit it to memory."
Hum!
An eerie hum radiated from Wuming and Huangquan. The sound was faint yet incredibly piercing, cutting flawlessly through the howling blizzard.
Su Mu realized that the sound wasn't traveling through the air, but through the soul.
Blanketed by the hum, the divine power inside his body began to vibrate. Gradually, it emitted a similar sound, growing louder and louder until they shared the exact same frequency.
The figures of the three began to blur, flickering rapidly like dropped frames in a video, until eventually... they vanished completely.
It was a bizarre sensation for Su Mu. He felt as if he had broken through some invisible barrier—like a diver surfacing for air after spending far too long underwater. His senses sharpened dramatically.
He took in his surroundings. Everywhere he looked was a wild carnival of color.
Brilliant, kaleidoscopic hues intertwined and collided, forming dimensional folds. They resembled the wrinkles of the universe itself, with endless space hidden within every crease.
Some folds were as thin as a strand of hair, while others were as broad and thick as mountain ranges. They undulated slowly, their surfaces rippling with dreamlike halos of light.
"Is this the dimension of the gods?"
Wuming gave a calm nod. "We are more accustomed to calling it... the Divine Realm."
The Divine Realm...
So this was the world where the gods resided? Were the gods who were hellbent on seizing the Creator's Authority hiding here? But why had they remained utterly dormant, never showing themselves to the mortal world?
Perhaps... this trip into the Divine Realm would hold the answers.
Su Mu's deep eyes reflected the kaleidoscopic expanse—magnificent and mysterious.
"Do you see that mountain range?" Wuming pointed toward a massive fold in the colorful dimension just a short distance away. It seemed to stretch out to the very edge of the universe.
Its undulating shape did indeed look like a mountain—a rainbow mountain.
"That is your mission objective. Break the illusion array covering it, and the Temple of God Slaying will grant you the Fallen Sin Maitreya Puzzle."
Wuming didn't mention who had set up the illusion array, nor did he explain why they needed it broken. It seemed he felt no need to explain.
Su Mu offered a faint smile. For him, just this trip to the Divine Realm was well worth the price of admission. Furthermore, he could use the Temple of God Slaying to peek into the secrets of the gods!
After all, he had always been deeply curious. Where exactly had all those gods gone, and what were they doing?
He took a step forward, drifting toward the "rainbow mountain" as if walking through outer space.
About a hundred li away from the "rainbow mountain," he came to a halt. He had sensed the presence of the illusion array.
In the unseen void, it was as if a gargantuan, transparent bubble had engulfed the mountain.
A crystalline blue light flickered in Su Mu's eyes. 'Let me see just what kind of illusion array is capable of stumping demigods.'
He reached out a hand and lightly touched the array.
Suddenly, an enigmatic smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
'Just as I expected. In this day and age, only the Xuantian Origin could create an illusion array capable of blocking demigods.'
Indeed, he could sense the aura of the Xuantian Origin radiating from the array. This illusion array had been set up by someone who possessed the Xuantian Origin!
When he first learned of the Temple of God Slaying's purpose in inviting Illusion Ash, he had his suspicions. Why would the Temple seek out an expert in Illusion Techniques? Naturally, they had encountered an insurmountable problem related to illusions. And across the entire world, who else but Xuan Tian, the True God of illusions, could conjure a technique capable of stumping a group of demigods?
It seemed his guess was right on the mark. This was exactly why he had agreed to help the Temple of God Slaying.
Had the Temple of God Slaying not appeared, heaven knew how much time it would have taken him to reach the Divine Realm and detect the Xuantian Origin.
An illusion array deployed using the Xuantian Origin might be enough to stop demigods, but it couldn't stop Su Mu.
Unleashing his mental energy to its absolute limit, he continuously infiltrated the illusion array. Countless profound runes surfaced within his crystalline blue eyes, flowing past his pupils like a rushing stream of water.
In mere moments, he grasped the underlying structure of the entire illusion array.
But right at that moment, a look of utter astonishment washed over his face. "This is..."
"How is it? Can you break it?" Wuming's voice rang out.
