Yan Ming froze, feeling as if his heart had been struck by an invisible force. As he stared at that aged back, a complex surge of admiration and gratitude welled up inside him.

"Can you still fight?" Su Mu asked.

Yan Ming gave a heavy nod. "Yeah!"

Suddenly, Su Mu vanished. He had gone to save someone else.

Atop the mountain peak, the Lord of Dawn furrowed his brow. "This won't do. The Mechanical Arhats are appearing endlessly. Our forces will be wiped out before they can even draw out the main target."

"Trash! A bunch of trash!" the Lord of Primal Desolation sneered. "To think this Saint Lord must take action personally."

"Let's move. We'll destroy the palace first." The Lord of Dawn stepped forward, heading straight toward the palace. Purple lotuses bloomed in the void to support his weight, a flower materializing with every step he took.

The Lord of Primal Desolation bent his knees, white steam erupting from his joints. Boom!

The mountain peak collapsed beneath his feet. He plummeted from the sky like a meteor, smashing violently into the palace roof.

"Flower Burial," the Lord of Dawn murmured, his slender fingers lightly clenching the empty air.

The earth beneath the palace fractured inch by inch. Countless multicolored flowers burst from the ground, wildly thrashing their hideous roots to entangle the structure.

The Lord of Primal Desolation unleashed his full power. His four arms swung in a blurring rotation, reducing everything in his path to ruins.

With the two Saint Lords entering the fray, the Mechanical Arhats finally stopped spawning, and the eerie palace collapsed in an instant.

Thump-thump! Thump-thump!

An eerie heartbeat echoed from deep within the palace ruins. The sound seemed to resonate with heaven and earth; with every beat, the entire world trembled in unison.

Was the main body finally about to reveal itself?

Su Mu narrowed his eyes, staring into the depths of the ruins. His hands never stopped moving, however, as he effortlessly hauled a heavily injured team member up from the ground.

Under his gaze, gravity around the ruined palace suddenly failed. Mechanical fragments and broken walls drifted upward, hovering weightlessly in midair.

Without the ruins obscuring their view, the crowd finally saw their enemy's true form.

It was the Mechanical Maitreya, sitting upright upon a Flesh Lotus. The massive Flesh Lotus hovered silently three chi off the ground, its base covered in countless tentacle-like roots that writhed wildly.

Atop the lotus, the Mechanical Maitreya wore a peaceful, compassionate smile, its bronze-colored skin glinting with cold light. It pressed its hands together over its round belly. A patch of skin was missing from the left side of its stomach, faintly revealing countless gears of various sizes turning inside.

With its appearance, eerie Sanskrit chants echoed across the world, sounding like billions of monks reciting wicked scriptures at once. The demonic voices pierced their ears, making everyone's head throb with a dull ache.

"If we don't finish it off, no one will get the Divine Corpse Puzzle. We can't hold anything back at a time like this," the Lord of Dawn warned.

The Lord of Primal Desolation scoffed. "Relax. This Saint Lord isn't a treacherous schemer like the Lord of Illusory Ashes."

Without another word, the two charged straight at the Mechanical Maitreya. The battle erupted instantly!

The Mechanical Maitreya lightly raised its plump hands, pressing its palms together in a Buddhist greeting. The next moment, the ruined buildings hovering in midair swept out horizontally.

Naturally, such an attack couldn't stop the two Saint Lords, but the people still fighting the remaining Mechanical Arhats were out of luck.

They had to fend off the Mechanical Arhats while simultaneously defending against the sweeping barrage of ruins.

"Everyone, get behind me!" Su Mu shouted. His figure materialized in front of the crowd like a ghost. He raised the black umbrella high, and tangible darkness spilled from its edges, forming a pitch-black canopy that blocked the onslaught.

Pfft!

Su Mu coughed up a mouthful of blood, staggering slightly.

"Captain Zhou!" someone cried out in alarm, rushing over to support him.

"Captain Zhou, are you alright?"

Facing everyone's concern, Su Mu waved a hand. "I'm fine. How are your injuries?"

The crowd felt a wave of warmth. They hadn't expected that, at a time like this, Captain Zhou wouldn't care about his own wounds, but theirs instead.

"We're fine, Captain Zhou. You rest for a bit. Leave the rest to us!"

Several people spontaneously formed a protective circle around Su Mu, guarding him closely.

Without even realizing it, their respect for Su Mu had grown increasingly profound.

Hours later, the great battle was still raging, though the crowd's own fight was essentially drawing to a close.

Without the palace to replenish them, the remaining Mechanical Arhats couldn't muster much of a threat. With everyone working together—and Su Mu helping in secret—they were quickly wiped out.

Meanwhile, the battle between the two Saint Lords and the Mechanical Maitreya had reached a fever pitch. The crowd hid a hundred li away, completely unable to get close.

Let alone helping in a battle of this caliber, even getting close would mean certain death.

His arm broken, the Lord of Dawn suddenly let out a furious roar and used his left hand to forcefully tear off his own right arm! The expected spray of blood didn't appear; instead, countless flower-bearing vines surged from the stump.

Like tens of thousands of brightly colored venomous snakes, they spread madly through the void, ultimately entangling the Mechanical Maitreya.

"Hurry! I can only hold it for a moment!" the Lord of Dawn shouted anxiously.

Naturally, the Lord of Primal Desolation wouldn't waste this opportunity. Bathed in blood, he abruptly surged with power. Six large bulges rose high beneath the bronze-colored skin on his back.

The bulges grew larger and larger until his flesh split open. Six thick arms burst through, entirely bronze in color, with mechanical gears of various sizes exposed wherever the skin had peeled away.

"Karmic Wheel Execution!"

The Lord of Primal Desolation roared. His six newly sprouted arms, along with his original two, began to spin madly. The eight arms rotated like a massive bronze gear, transforming into a sky full of fist shadows that blasted fiercely toward the Mechanical Maitreya.

A hundred punches, a thousand punches, ten thousand punches!

Eighty-three thousand punches in an instant! This was the Lord of Primal Desolation's ultimate killing move: the eight-armed rotation, the Karmic Wheel Execution!

As strong as the Mechanical Maitreya was, under those eighty-three thousand punches, its indestructible metallic body let out an uncontrollable whine. Tiny cracks formed, and the fractures rapidly spread, multiplying until they covered its entire frame.

Crack!

With a loud bang, the Mechanical Maitreya shattered, revealing the golden-glowing Mechanical Heart inside.

Seeing this, the Lord of Primal Desolation was ecstatic. Ignoring his own injuries, he snatched the Mechanical Heart.

"Hahaha... Fallen Sin Maitreya, I've got it!"

Su Mu narrowed his eyes. Was this a Saint Lord's true strength? If he didn't employ some schemes, they would indeed be difficult to deal with.

However, it was about time. He needed to wrap things up.

No one noticed that the heavily injured Captain Zhou, whom they were guarding behind them, had silently stood up.

Just then, the Lord of Dawn, having seized the Flesh Lotus, suddenly underwent a drastic change in expression. He stared in horror at the Flesh Lotus that had lost the Mechanical Maitreya, screaming in panic, "Quick! Put it back!"
