I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World

Chapter 465: People from Heaven Play This Wild?

"We have arrived at the Holy Lord's Mansion," Yan Ming said flatly.

Su Mu narrowed his eyes, quietly sizing up the Holy Lord's Mansion. The architecture was magnificent, akin to a luxurious palace, and every detail of its craftsmanship was as exquisite as a work of art.

This was undeniably the most majestic palace he had ever seen. Even the Dragon King's Imperial Palace back in the Xuan Tian World could not compare to the grandeur of the Holy Lord's Mansion.

Of course, it still fell far short of the Summit Immortal Palace in his dream realm.

What surprised him the most, however, was that the Holy Lord's Mansion was not built on the ground, but rather... in the sky.

Against the backdrop of a pristine azure sky, the resplendent palace floated quietly among the clouds, as if steadily held aloft by an invisible giant hand.

Bright sunlight shone upon the estate. Its white, jade-like bricks refracted the light into rippling waves that sparkled like countless shattered diamonds.

Su Mu sighed in quiet admiration. A Saint Lord might not be a God, but this estate was certainly grander than any deity's residence.

Suddenly, a guiding beam of celestial light descended slowly from the palace gates, transforming into a softly glowing white jade bridge that stretched straight down from the heavens.

Led by Yan Ming, the group stepped onto the white jade bridge. An invisible force surged across the surface, lifting their bodies and carrying them steadily forward.

An elevator? A Transcendent Tier version?

Su Mu glanced at the white jade bridge beneath his feet. While he didn't understand the underlying principles, its practical function was no different from an escalator in a shopping mall.

Soon, the group reached the clouds and entered the Holy Lord's Mansion.

Inside the vast, brightly lit grand hall, Yan Ming turned to face Su Mu and said evenly, "Take out the divine taboo object. I am going to meet the Lord of Dawn. Once the Saint Lord confirms the aura of the Divine Corpse on it, you will naturally receive your reward."

"What if you go back on your word?" Chu Ying stared at Yan Ming, clearly on high alert. She didn't trust him in the slightest, terrified that they would secretly pocket the divine taboo object.

During the short time she had spent with Su Mu, she had unknowingly been won over by his "personal charm," and her every word and action was now centered on his best interests.

It just went to show that a person of virtue would be admired and trusted no matter where they went.

Yan Ming scoffed coldly, a mocking smirk appearing on his lips. "Where do you think you are? This is the Holy Lord's Mansion. The entire Dawn Domain belongs to the Lord of Dawn. You might treat a mere divine taboo object like a treasure, but in the eyes of the Lord of Dawn, it is nothing more than useless scrap.

"If we truly wanted to keep it for ourselves, do you think the two of you would leave here alive?"

A gentle smile rested on Su Mu's face. He gazed calmly at Yan Ming, the man's reflection mirrored in his deep eyes. He took out the Bronze Incense Burner and lightly placed it into Yan Ming's hands.

"A piece of advice for you," Su Mu smiled. "Be careful what you say. Words invite disaster."

Yan Ming instantly flared with anger. He opened his mouth to retort, but upon meeting those deep eyes, the words inexplicably caught in his throat.

It was a pair of eyes so clear they lacked even a single ripple, like a bottomless, freezing pool. Their owner was clearly smiling, yet there was no trace of mirth in his gaze—only an endless, profound calm.

Yan Ming held that gaze for barely a second before subconsciously looking away. As if fleeing, he snatched the Bronze Incense Burner and left without looking back.

Once out of sight, his anger flared anew. He felt his recent reaction was humiliating. He didn't even understand why he hadn't dared to look Su Mu in the eye, only that his instincts had screamed at him to run.

He continuously comforted himself with the thought that he was just considering the big picture. He had only swallowed his pride to avoid disrupting the Lord of Dawn's plans.

What he didn't know, however, was that the true reason he had backed down was a terror carved deep into his genetic instincts—an innate human fear.

Sometimes, when a person stood in a certain place or beside a certain someone, they would feel intensely uncomfortable and feel the urge to leave. Make no mistake: that was their genetics warning them.

The brain might not have registered the danger, but the genes already had.

...

"My Lord, this is the divine taboo object brought back by Dawn's Blade. This subordinate has already inspected it prior to arriving. The aura upon it should belong to Fallen Sin Maitreya, not the Merciful Holy Mother of Myriad Blossoms."

Yan Ming bowed deeply, raising the Bronze Incense Burner high above his head with both hands.

Before him stood a young man with his hands clasped behind his back, quietly admiring the blooming violets in the garden. He wore a moon-white robe cinched with an ebony belt.

This person was none other than the master of the Dawn Domain—the Lord of Dawn.

The Lord of Dawn seemed deaf to Yan Ming's words. He continued to admire the flowers with intense focus, as if trying to carve every vein on the purple petals into his heart.

He slowly reached out. His white, jade-like palm gently brushed against a violet's petals. The flower seemed to spring to life, shivering and dodging his touch like a bashful young girl.

A fond, affectionate smile graced the Lord of Dawn's lips. "I'm not touching your pistil, so what are you hiding for?" he murmured softly. "Besides, I watched you grow up. I wouldn't do anything bad to you."

He continued to tease the violet, like a pair of passionate lovers flirting with each other.

Off to the side, Yan Ming buried his head even lower. He felt like a servant who had stumbled upon the master and mistress of the house flirting, terrified that a stray glance might catch the mistress exposed.

Back in the grand hall, Su Mu paused mid-sip of his tea. He hadn't expected the people of Heaven to play this wild.

Flirting with a flower?

Was this a side effect of inheriting the power of the Merciful Holy Mother of Myriad Blossoms?

He hadn't intended to peep on the Lord of Dawn's "explicit" scene. He had merely planted a nightmare mark on Yan Ming in passing for simple surveillance. He just hadn't expected the opening act to be entirely unsuitable for children.

No wonder there wasn't a single woman in the entire Holy Lord's Mansion. It turned out the Lord of Dawn was into flowers.

The Lord of Dawn played with the violet for a good while, not stopping until its petals looked slightly wilted.

He finally turned around, his expression indifferent as he looked at Yan Ming, who was still holding up the Bronze Incense Burner. "Fallen Sin Maitreya, you say? The Lord of Primal Desolation's Divine Puzzle... While it's not the one I desire, it can certainly be used to trade for a few concessions from the Lord of Primal Desolation. In recent years, the Lord of Illusory Ashes has been acting increasingly overbearing. The matter of an alliance with Yuanhuang needs to be put on the agenda."
