I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 459: You're Really Going to Search Me?
Su Mu smiled faintly. "I'm very grateful for Miss Chu Ying's assistance, but I don't have any Healing Potions."
As soon as those words left his mouth, the atmosphere instantly grew tense.
Zhou Qiong narrowed his eyes, trying to see through Su Mu to tell if he was lying. However, all he saw was gentle sincerity.
Su Mu wasn't lying. Possessing an Undying Body, he had no need for Healing Potions, so naturally, he hadn't brought any.
Unfortunately, the truth was rarely believed.
"Gong Cang, search him," Zhou Qiong said coldly. "See if he has a spatial Artifact on him."
"You got it, Captain." The buzz-cut man named Gong Cang walked over, his hands in his pockets.
"Captain, this..." Chu Ying was about to speak, but Zhou Qiong shot her an icy glare, forcing her to swallow her words.
"Su Mu, right?" Gong Cang sized him up flippantly. "Tsk, tsk. You look like a scrawny pretty boy to me. Are you really on the Giant Demon pathway?"
Su Mu smiled warmly. "The genuine article.""All right. I figure you relied on Transcendent Potions to stack your realm. I won't waste my breath. You heard the captain. Don't take it personally when I search you. It's for everyone's sake. After all, we're all counting on the captain to lead us out of here, aren't we?"
"That makes sense," Su Mu said, still smiling like a modest gentleman.
Gong Cang laughed. "You're actually pretty easy to talk to. How about this: just hand over your spatial Artifact yourself and save me the effort. Don't worry, Dawn's Blade isn't a gang of bandits. We definitely won't touch the other treasures in your spatial Artifact. We only want the Healing Potions. How about it? Pretty reasonable, right?"
"Very reasonable."
Gong Cang held out a hand. "Hand it over, then."
Su Mu smiled and shook his head. "I don't have a spatial Artifact."
He was telling the truth once again. His Dream Space could store items, and it was much safer than a spatial Artifact, so he had absolutely no need for one.
The grin instantly vanished from Gong Cang's face. "You're a Gold tier expert, and you're telling me you don't have a spatial Artifact? Do you think I'm an idiot?"
"Don't misunderstand, Mr. Gong. I really don't have a spatial Artifact. If you don't believe me, you can search me."
Su Mu's earnest words left Gong Cang half-convinced. Did he really not have one?
'How did this kid ever reach Gold? Is he really this poor? Or did he lose it earlier in the Divine Ruins?'
"Then I'll just have to see for myself. Listen here, kid—if I find out you're lying, you're going to regret it!"
Gong Cang reached for Su Mu's waist, while Su Mu spread his hands out casually.
Seeing Su Mu acting so composed, Gong Cang was mostly convinced. But since things had already reached this point, he still had to follow through with the search.
Just as his hand was about to touch Su Mu's body, a slender, pale hand suddenly seized his wrist. He hadn't even seen it move.
Gong Cang froze and looked up in surprise. "What are you doing?"
"You're really going to search me?" Su Mu looked at Gong Cang in surprise, appearing even more astonished than the other man, as if he hadn't expected him to actually be this bold. "I was just being polite, and you took it seriously."
Gong Cang flew into a rage. "You dare play with—Ah!!"
Before he could finish his sentence, a loud snap echoed out. Su Mu had broken his wrist.
Everyone went pale with shock. No one expected the consistently polite and gentle Su Mu to actually strike, let alone right in front of the entirety of Dawn's Blade.
Before they could react, Gong Cang instantly doubled over like a shrimp and was sent flying backward like a cannonball.
His chest caved in as blood spurted wildly from his mouth.
Bang!
With a massive crash, Gong Cang slammed into another Gold tier expert who was just about to lunge. The man looked as if he had been struck by a heavy hammer; his eyes bulged as he was ruthlessly smashed to the ground.
"You're asking for death!" The long-haired man beside Zhou Qiong lunged forward as if teleporting, the terrifying aura unique to a Gold King erupting outward.
In a flash, a slender, pale hand clamped onto his neck like lightning. Crushed by an immense, terrifying strength, the aura of the Gold King came to an abrupt halt.
Veins bulged on the long-haired man's face as he struggled endlessly. Su Mu's speed was simply too great—so fast that before the man could even see clearly, he was hoisted completely off the ground.
From the onlookers' perspective, it looked as if Su Mu had foresight. He had placed his hand perfectly in the long-haired man's path ahead of time, simply waiting for the man to run headfirst into it.
Subduing a Gold King in a single move—such terrifying strength caused the rest of the group, who had been about to charge in, to hesitate.
Su Mu looked at the wary crowd and smiled gently. "Did my polite words make you mistakenly believe that I was a pushover? Well then, I'm truly sorry about that."
He pushed down with one hand. The long-haired man was flipped completely upside down, and his large head slammed brutally into the ground.
With a loud thud, the long-haired man's head smashed a deep crater into the floor. His eyes rolled back as blood instantly gushed from his nose and mouth.
This vicious, violent scene not only stunned the crowd but also left Chu Ying utterly dumbfounded. Her small mouth hung wide open in absolute disbelief.
'This... this is Su Mu's true strength?! Instantly defeating a Gold King?!'
'Then, me trying to save him earlier, wasn't that...'
Chu Ying suddenly felt incredibly awkward. She realized that with Su Mu's strength, he didn't fear the Silent Spirits at all. Yet, she had dragged him away to flee, even shamelessly claiming that she had saved his life...
The more she thought about it, the more embarrassed she felt. Her face burned as if on fire.
At this moment, she finally understood what Su Mu had meant when he said someone had almost died.
'So that's what he meant! The Silent Spirit was the one who almost died...'
She grew increasingly frightened as she thought about it. 'Oh no, I just told him he looked a bit dense. He wouldn't hold a grudge over that, would he?'
"Vice-Captain!" another Gold King roared in shock. He glared furiously at Su Mu. "You actually dared to attack the vice-captain! I'll—"
"Stop." Zhou Qiong, who had remained completely silent, suddenly halted the crowd. He looked at Su Mu, a cold sneer appearing on his lips. "It seems I misjudged you. You're actually a Gold King on the Giant Demon pathway. Stand down, everyone. In such a confined space, no one of the same tier can match a Giant Demon King."
His words were entirely correct. Even though the Giant Demon pathway was always called the weakest, that was only because it lacked mysterious, supernatural abilities. All it possessed was extreme, absolute violence!
If anyone from another pathway allowed a Giant Demon to get close, their fate would undoubtedly be miserable.
Suddenly, Zhou Qiong slowly stood up. His aged body radiated no imposing aura whatsoever; instead, he looked like a dying old man with one foot in the grave, ready to be blown over by a gust of wind.
"Captain, your injuries..." someone said in concern.
