I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 445: I Have Already Seen the Future
The Prophet Fang Xiu, wielder of Death Reload, could restart the timeline countless times to achieve Future Sight. The existence of Death Reload meant an infinite margin for error, allowing him to pluck a final sliver of survival from any desperate situation. He also possessed an ability named Pain, which let him absorb and control all the pain in the world—a perfect counter to the God of Pain.
"Are you the one who manifested this Emperor?" Gu Qingfeng asked, suddenly looking at Su Mu.
Off to the side, Fang Xiu had remained entirely silent from the start. He ignored them both, his calm eyes fixed on the God of Pain raging in the sky above. No one knew what he was thinking.
Su Mu nodded. "Exactly. I called you both out this time to deal with the God of Pain."
Gu Qingfeng narrowed his eyes, a chilling smile curling his lips. "And why should this Emperor help you?"
Su Mu smiled faintly. "As payment, I will tell you the most deeply hidden secrets of your worlds—the very secrets you want to know most."
He knew exactly how Gu Qingfeng's and Fang Xiu's stories ended. He had deliberately manifested versions of them from before their respective finales, specifically to use this knowledge as leverage.
"Oh? And what is the secret this Emperor wishes to know most?"
"Your true identity, for example," Su Mu said with a smile.
He paused, glancing over at Fang Xiu. "Or, for Mr. Fang here, the truth about his wife..."Before he could finish, Fang Xiu cut him off. "I already know," he said calmly.
Su Mu raised an eyebrow. 'He knows? Did I manifest a version of him from the wrong period? Or...'
"No need to wonder," Fang Xiu said. "Because... I have already seen the future."
Su Mu frowned. Fang Xiu's ability was Death Reload. Like loading a save file in a game, it allowed him to return to a previous point in the timeline after dying. If he already knew, that meant they had died at least once already. Perhaps... more than once.
"Since you already know, you can just tell me. It seems there is no need for us to help him," Gu Qingfeng said, a wicked smile curling his lips.
Fang Xiu looked up at the God of Pain in midair. "It is merely an evil god," he said calmly. "There is no need to go back on our word."
Gu Qingfeng followed his gaze. His eyes were arrogant and disdainful as he looked at the God of Pain. He nodded in agreement. "Indeed."
Seeing them reach an agreement, Su Mu smiled. He gently removed his Tinted Glasses and put them away methodically. A breeze fluttered the hem of his clothes, stirring crystalline blue ripples in his eyes.
"In that case... I will leave it to you two."
Gu Qingfeng stepped forward. The surrounding space seemed to compress infinitely beneath his feet, just like the Shrink the Earth to an Inch technique. In the next moment, he stood high in the sky.
Terrifying demonic flames erupted from his body, and billowing demonic clouds blotted out the sky.
He glared arrogantly at the rampaging God of Pain and sneered. "An evil god is still a demon. Upon seeing this Emperor, why do you not kneel?"
The God of Pain seemed to sense something. The black-robed cultist it had possessed twisted their head at an unnatural angle, revealing a face completely obscured by black light. No features were visible.
It gently raised a hand. The void behind it rippled like water, and a spear spewing black light shot forward, surging with boundless divine power.
Demonic light flashed in Gu Qingfeng's eyes as monstrous demonic flames surged into the sky. Countless phantoms of demon gods flickered within the inferno. He reached out with a hand wreathed in demonic qi and clenched it tight.
Thrum!
The black spear, which was about to pierce his chest, was caught firmly in his grip. It vibrated violently, emitting an urgent hum.
"Heh heh heh... a grain of rice dares to compete with the full moon?"
With a flick of his wrist, Gu Qingfeng hurled the pitch-black spear right back at the God of Pain.
The moment the spear drew near the God of Pain, an invisible ripple annihilated it.
Gu Qingfeng frowned. "This false body is still too weak."
The next moment, layers of ripples warped the void behind the God of Pain. One, two, three... over a hundred spears of pain slowly surfaced, then tore through the air.
Gu Qingfeng snorted coldly. "Underworld Grasp!"
Terrifying demonic might gathered in the void above him, instantly forming a massive archway that resembled the Underworld Gate.
Boom!
The Underworld Gate blasted open. Countless hideous ghost hands wreathed in chains reached out from within, grabbing at the spears of pain.
"Its power is continuously growing. Do not fight a war of attrition," Fang Xiu's calm voice rang out. "Its weakness is its physical body."
A burst of fire abruptly erupted behind him. Massive wings of black flame unfurled, propelling his body straight up into the sky.
Gu Qingfeng narrowed his eyes. From the corner of his vision, he spotted specks of black light drifting down from the firmament. They resembled the Ash left behind by burning joss paper, swirling and dancing in the wind before sinking into the God of Pain's body.
With every speck of "Ash" it absorbed, the God of Pain's aura grew stronger. Its true body in the Abyss was continuously funneling power to it; even the obstruction of the Seven Kings Barrier could not block it entirely.
Realizing this, Gu Qingfeng immediately abandoned the battle of attrition. His figure flickered bizarrely through midair, abruptly materializing in front of the God of Pain. Wreathed in monstrous demonic flames, his fist smashed forward like a falling meteor.
The God of Pain naturally refused to sit and await death. It controlled the black-robed cultist's body to counterattack relentlessly. For a time, Pain Divine Power and demonic flames clashed frantically, sending showers of light scattering in all directions.
But Gu Qingfeng soon fell to a disadvantage. Just as he had said, this manifested body was simply too weak.
Just as he began to lose ground, a calm voice echoed across the firmament. "Domain expansion. Endless Hell."
Thrum!
Bizarre ripples warped heaven and earth. The cold, clear moon in the sky was suddenly blanketed in crimson, transforming into a blood moon. Yet, looking closely, it wasn't a blood moon at all—it was a massive, blood-red eye.
Bathed in the bloody light, an endless expanse of black fire surged across the earth. Deep within those flames, a terrifying phantom of Hell tore free from the ground and slowly took shape.
Endless eerie shadows shrieked from within it, and lurking just behind them were terrifying, indescribable silhouettes.
The moment Endless Hell manifested, all the "Ash" swirling in the sky was completely sealed out. Like snowflakes drifting too close to a roaring furnace, the specks of "Ash" melted into nothingness the instant they touched Endless Hell.
Cut off by Endless Hell, the God of Pain's power finally stopped growing.
Swish!
A gleaming silver Scalpel appeared in Fang Xiu's hand. Wielding it one-handed, he charged straight at the God of Pain.
Watching the two of them battle the God of Pain, Su Mu finally felt the true value of having teammates. When had he ever enjoyed this kind of luxury in the past?
Just as he prepared to join the fray, Fang Xiu's voice suddenly rang out in his mind.
Su Mu abruptly stopped in his tracks, a smile curling his lips. "I see. So this is the future you saw?"
Following Fang Xiu's guidance, Su Mu flickered out of sight, heading straight for the Land of Origin.
