I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 436: I Choose You, God of Pain!
"A single Demigod can only be exchanged for one drop of divine blood?"
"Of course not. You actually only need a portion of a Demigod's body. But taking a piece of a Demigod still means confronting one, and they aren't just going to sit there and let themselves be slaughtered."
Su Mu pondered for a moment before a smile suddenly curled his lips.
Xiao Yuan was surprised. "I didn't expect you to come up with a solution so quickly, but your method is a bit risky. There are too many uncertain factors."
Su Mu smiled. "That's exactly what makes it interesting, isn't it?
"Keep your Computer form. You were right—the Computer is the handiest to operate. If you turned into a divine artifact, it really would be hard for me to control.
"I need to familiarize myself with the power this world can provide first."
"Alright." Xiao Yuan transformed back into a pixelated girl and returned to the Computer.
Su Mu sat upright in front of the Computer, the crisp clicks of his mouse echoing continuously.
Meanwhile, in the outside world, at the Seven Deadly Sins Base.Inside the training room.
A woman in a gray sports bra and gray yoga pants was working out. The thin, breathable fabric clung tightly to her skin, clearly outlining the firm curves of her abs. Her highly elastic pants wrapped snugly around her legs, tracing a smooth line from her slender ankles all the way to her tight glutes.
"Can you hear me?"
Nangong Mengli stopped her movements. She didn't look around, but merely smiled. "Do you enjoy making your entrance like this lately?"
Su Mu's amused voice rang in her ear. "I'm going to run a few experiments. I need your cooperation."
"Mhm." Nangong Mengli brushed back a stray lock of hair and waited quietly in place.
Before she could ask what the experiment was, the scenery abruptly shifted. She found herself standing in a desolate, uninhabited desert.
Endless yellow sands stretched as far as the eye could see. The venomous sunlight beat down on her fair skin, carrying a scorching heat.
"Is this... an Illusion Technique?" Nangong Mengli asked in surprise.
"No, you've actually arrived in a desert." Sitting before the Computer desk, Su Mu dragged Nangong Mengli's folder into the desert folder.
"Interesting. Are you testing teleportation? Could we change locations, though? I didn't put on sunscreen, and I'm not wearing sun-protective clothing. I really don't want to get a tan just for your experiment."
The moment she spoke, Nangong Mengli realized with astonishment that her sports bra and gray yoga pants had transformed into a full set of sun-protective clothing.
"Is this... are you using me to play dress-up?" She examined her new sun-protective gear, running her hands over it. The fabric felt completely real.
"It'd be even better if I had a pair of sunglasses."
Swish!
A pair of oversized sunglasses appeared on her face, shielding her bright eyes.
"Truly miraculous," Nangong Mengli praised.
A second later, she discovered an unimaginably boundless power surging up from within her. Her aura skyrocketed. Under its crushing pressure, a violent gale swept across the surrounding desert, instantly filling the sky with swirling yellow sand.
As her power continued to climb, the surrounding desert began to collapse into nothingness, as if it were being erased.
Nangong Mengli clenched her fists in wonder. "I feel like I could punch a Gold King to death right now."
Within the Land of Origin, Su Mu's eyes flickered. He had Xiao Yuan alter the code inside Nangong Mengli's folder. Right now, Nangong Mengli possessed stats no weaker than his own, but that was the extent of it.
This was the absolute limit that a mortal creature could reach.
And the price for doing so was that a ten-thousand-li radius of the desert had been reduced to nothingness.
The total mass of this Dream World remained constant. His current actions were equivalent to transferring energy from other areas into Nangong Mengli.
This meant he couldn't create a large batch of such powerhouses, because doing so would drain the world completely dry.
Unless he plundered power from the outside world to replenish the Dream World's origin. Take those invading Nightmare Creatures, for instance. Although they came from the outside and couldn't be arbitrarily modified by the Computer, as long as they died within this Dream World, they would strengthen its origin.
But even if he used this method to forge a vast army of powerhouses, they might not necessarily be able to deal with a Demigod. On the contrary, sometimes having too many people just added to the chaos.
Incompetent teammates were far more terrifying than god-like enemies.
Therefore, Su Mu's initial idea had been to forge a divine artifact capable of slaying a Demigod. Unfortunately, it wouldn't work.
Even if his recent frenzied hunting of Nightmare Creatures had increased the world's origin enough to let him create such an artifact, he couldn't forget one key premise: as the number of Nightmare Creatures grew and the Dream World's origin increased, the world's reality level continuously surged as well.
If it really came down to forging the artifact, he feared that before it was even completed, he would end up drawing the attention of the God of Heaven.
Fortunately, he still had other methods.
"Alright, the experiment is over."
Nangong Mengli's vision blurred, and she found herself back in the training room. The boundless power from moments ago was gone, and her sun-protective clothing had vanished, replaced once again by her yoga pants.
The rush of power flooding her body, only to be instantly drained away, left her with a sudden sense of emptiness from the stark contrast.
Within the Land of Origin, Su Mu slowly stood up. He elegantly buttoned his suit jacket and smiled. "I'm heading back. Time flows too quickly here. If I stay any longer, I'm afraid the world will be destroyed."
Earlier, when his consciousness was attached to Nangong Mengli, his perceived time had synchronized with hers. Now that his consciousness had returned to the Land of Origin, his sense of time naturally synchronized with the Land of Origin once more.
"There's no need to rush. I can mobilize a portion of the world's power to reinforce the Seven Kings Barrier."
By now, Su Mu had already turned to leave. Without looking back, he waved his hand. "No need. If we reinforce it, how will the Abyss Demigods descend? Save the power. I still have a use for it."
Abruptly, his figure vanished from the Land of Origin.
Within the Seven Deadly Sins Base, Su Mu suddenly appeared.
Upon returning, he immediately brought out Supreme Heaven and began making a wish. This wish wasn't to strengthen himself, but rather to obtain intelligence regarding the Abyss Demigods.
Dealing with Abyss Demigods required outsmarting them, which made intelligence absolutely crucial right now.
In truth, taking out an Abyss Demigod came down to three aspects: first, weaken the enemy; second, strengthen your own forces; and third, target the enemy's weaknesses.
With the intelligence provided by Supreme Heaven, Su Mu could begin laying out his plans across these three fronts.
A long time later, Supreme Heaven's dark golden light slowly faded. A look of guaranteed victory flashed through Su Mu's eyes.
"I choose you, God of Pain!"
He had selected his prey—the God of Pain!
There were many Abyss Demigods, and choosing which one to kill required careful consideration. According to his research, hunting the God of Pain held the highest success rate. Furthermore, the God of Pain was currently the most likely to descend.
Thanks to Yang Dongqing's unflagging efforts, the Pain Divine Cult was currently growing the fastest. It even showed signs of being able to completely overthrow the Blood Moon Empire.
