Everything fell silent. Nothing happened.

Su Mu frowned slightly. He glanced around, but saw no trace of the Primal Angel taking action.

Did he fail? Or...

A moment later, he suddenly sensed something and looked up at the sky.

In a dimension invisible to the naked eye, the Seven Kings Barrier was silently shattering!

Shangguan Chen had sacrificed everything he had to attack the Seven Kings Barrier.

The Seven Kings Barrier trembled violently. Its smooth surface now resembled a cracked mirror, spiderwebbed with dense fractures that extended infinitely into the void.

The trembling soon stopped. The Seven Kings Barrier had not completely shattered—the power of the Primal Angel that Shangguan Chen traded for wasn't enough to achieve that much. But the existing cracks did not mend. Worse, with the ongoing destruction caused by the Nightmare Creatures, these fractures were expanding.

If the previous Seven Kings Barrier could have held on for another year, it now had less than six months left. Furthermore, due to the sheer number of cracks, even more Nightmare Creatures could invade the Divine Dream World on their own, without needing Pride to release them.

This autonomous invasion of Nightmare Creatures would be entirely random. It would no longer be Pride opening a channel and deliberately dropping them over the ocean.

They might appear out of thin air in residential areas, busy downtown districts, or the deserted wilderness... They could show up anywhere.

Perhaps while you were sound asleep in your home, a Nightmare Creature would quietly descend by your pillow, impossible to guard against.

It was foreseeable that Shangguan Chen's actions would further escalate human casualties—losses so catastrophic they might even surpass those on the frontline battlefields.

Su Mu understood Shangguan Chen's intention: even if he couldn't kill Su Mu, he would still make him miserable right before dying.

"Su... Su Mu, what exactly is going on here? Who are you?" King Chi asked, her expression complicated.

With Shangguan Chen's death, the bindings on King Chi dissolved, and she regained her mobility.

"Why did he call you the Mad King? And why did he say you wanted to save the world?" King Chi's mind couldn't keep up; her thoughts were a complete mess.

Her royal father had become her enemy. And the man who was supposed to be the enemy was...

Su Mu smiled slightly. "Do you want to know the truth?"

King Chi nodded, her expression complex.

"Take off your clothes first."

King Chi blanked for a moment before her face flushed red. "Don't even think about it!" she snapped in embarrassment and anger.

Su Mu was slightly speechless. "I'm talking about the Scarlet Moon."

"Don't even think about that, either! Do you take this King for a fool? Supreme Heaven has already..."

Before she could finish, she was shocked to find her body moving out of her control, disrobing right in front of Su Mu.

Soon, the Scarlet Moon was removed, revealing the dark gold royal phoenix robe she wore underneath.

Su Mu lightly hooked his finger. The Scarlet Moon moved without any wind, flying into his hand before vanishing.

"You!" King Chi glared at him, stomping her foot in anger.

"Come with me." Su Mu turned and walked toward the depths of the ruined great hall.

King Chi hesitated, then slowly followed behind him.

Their figures gradually disappeared into the void.

...

Above the Seven Kings Barrier.

King Chi stared in shock at the massive white veil of light. Densely packed Nightmare Creatures clung to it, like moths drawn to a flame.

"Are you saying the world is fake?"

"Why make such a clear distinction between true and false?" Su Mu said mildly.

"So you're saying the Seven Deadly Sins have been trying to save the world all along?" King Chi felt her worldview shatter; it was almost unbelievable.

The Seven Deadly Sins—the evil organization that committed every imaginable crime and sought to destroy the world—was actually saving it in the end?!

Then what were the Seven Kings who fought against the Seven Deadly Sins? Were they the villains?

Su Mu nodded calmly.

"Then why didn't you just tell the truth? You're clearly saving the world, yet you've become its public enemy. You must have suffered so much all this time, right?" King Chi bit her lip, suddenly feeling a pang of heartache, though that ache was mixed with joy.

She was overjoyed that Su Mu wasn't a god out to destroy the world, but a savior!

"Do you think the world would believe it? That the Seven Deadly Sins' method of saving the world is to destroy it?"

"Why wouldn't they believe it? I believe it!" King Chi said anxiously.

Su Mu cast a mild glance at her. "You're different. You have a love brain."

King Chi: "..."

"Let's go."

Su Mu and King Chi soon returned to the Chiyan Imperial Palace. By this time, the ruined great hall had been entirely cordoned off by soldiers, making it completely impenetrable.

"Your Majesty, Marquis Su, are you alright?" the military commander asked, jogging over hurriedly.

King Chi waved a hand somewhat absentmindedly. "We're fine. Clean this place up."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The soldiers began to clear the ruins.

King Chi glanced at Su Mu, hesitating before speaking. "Su Mu, I know the truth now. From now on, we will follow your plan. Let everything proceed as usual; saving the world is the most important thing. However... you did kill my royal father. Even though I like you quite a bit and didn't have much affection for my father—and he even tried to kill me... I still think I need a few days to process this.

"You should leave first."

A few days to process this?

Su Mu cast an astonished look at King Chi. He could tell she truly didn't have much affection for her father.

"You don't seem to understand the situation. This appears to be my Empire. Is it possible that the one who should be leaving is you?"

King Chi: "..."

"I... I..." King Chi stammered for a long time, holding it in until her face turned completely red. "Even if this used to be your Empire, so many years have passed. Who in this country still remembers you? They only know King Chi."

"Is that so?" Su Mu waved his hand lightly. The soldiers who had been clearing the ruins instantly gathered behind him in a dense, dark mass.

"We greet the Leader!" Their loud voices were deafening.

King Chi: "..."

Having operated within the Chiyan Empire for so long, the number of people Su Mu secretly controlled was countless. Especially now, after breaking through to Gold, he could cast instantaneous hypnosis on nearly anyone below Gold.

King Chi stood in place without a word, as if she had been nailed to the floor. Her feet seemed to have grown roots, and her chest heaved heavily.

There was anger and astonishment in her eyes, but gradually, that anger slowly extinguished, as if doused with a basin of cold water. It was replaced by endless grievance. Her eyebrows trembled, the corners of her mouth turned down, and the rims of her eyes grew red.

"You're kicking me out?"

Su Mu couldn't help but laugh. Had he known, he wouldn't have hypnotized a love brain. He had naturally seen through King Chi's feelings for him long ago. To better control her, he had secretly used hypnosis to amplify those feelings of affection.

However, emotions truly had their pros and cons. They could make someone fall in love with their father's killer, but they could also turn that love into hate over other matters.

"Crying at your age? Relax, it was just a joke. I've never cared about a measly Empire. If I wanted to, even ruling the world would be incredibly easy—but that would just be too boring."

Su Mu was telling the truth. A mere Chiyan Empire was too small, and the entire Divine Dream World was too small. Furthermore, ruling the world was truly uninteresting.
