"Night Raven just left like that?" King Chi stared blankly at the spot where Night Raven had vanished.

"What else was he supposed to do?" the King of Red Lotus mocked. "Stay and play out a drama where the domineering god falls for you?"

"You!" King Chi glared fiercely at the King of Red Lotus.

The King of Red Lotus's clothes were torn around the waist, exposing a large swath of snow-white skin that seemed to gleam in the moonlight. Coupled with her disheveled hair and cheeks slightly flushed from the fierce battle, she didn't look wretched at all. Instead, it only added a touch of allure.

King Chi, on the other hand, looked far more wretched. Her hair was a mess, and her slender left arm hung exposed and limp. Worst of all was her expression, which resembled a provoked puppy baring its teeth.

"Is there something wrong with you? Why do you always target me?" King Chi snapped.

She and the King of Red Lotus weren't even close, yet the other woman targeted her every time they met.

"Hehe." The King of Red Lotus brushed back her messy hair. "I wonder who spends all day proclaiming herself the most beautiful woman in the world, even making her domestic news agencies heavily promote it. Don't you know in your heart who the truly beautiful one is?"

King Chi froze. She hadn't expected the King of Red Lotus to know about the little stunts she had pulled back in her own empire.

Though slightly embarrassed, she refused to back down. "If you're jealous of my beauty, just say it! There's no need for snide remarks!"

"Jealous?" The King of Red Lotus covered her mouth and giggled. "I just can't stand how shameless some people are."

"Who are you calling shameless?!" King Chi bristled, marching forward as if ready to fight.

Naturally, the King of Red Lotus wasn't about to back down either.

"Enough! The battle isn't over yet. There are still plenty of Nightmare Creatures in the sea—if you want to fight, go find them!" the one-point-three-meter-tall Dragon King roared.

The two finally stopped arguing, shooting one last vicious glare at each other before dropping it.

"Women are so troublesome," the Dragon King sighed.

"Who are you calling troublesome, you little brat?!"

"Is your mother not a woman?!"

King Chi and the King of Red Lotus cursed at him in unison.

The Dragon King's small face darkened, and he quickly turned away to avoid them.

On any normal day, his proud nature would never have allowed him to let the insult slide. But today, the shock Pride and Night Raven had given him was simply too great. His mind was entirely consumed by those two, and the deep sense of powerlessness in his heart left him with no energy to bicker.

The remaining, relatively normal Gold Kings gathered to confer.

"It seems that although Night Raven stands on the side of humanity, he still carries a god's contempt for mortals. He isn't even willing to converse with us for long," the Nether King said in a deep voice.

"Indeed. Still, Night Raven's appearance is a good thing for the world. It proves that the Nightmare World isn't solely inhabited by evil gods like Pride."

"But for the most part, we still have to rely on ourselves. The meaning behind Night Raven's final words was very clear: God only saves those who save themselves. Luck only falls upon those who refuse to give up and refuse to wait passively."

At this moment, the eldest among them, the Saint King, suddenly looked toward the Undead King, who had been completely silent.

"Undead King, where is your Royal Power Artifact? You've failed to bring it out twice now. Don't you owe us an explanation?"

The Undead King sneered. "What explanation could I possibly owe you?"

The Heavenly King spoke calmly. "Now is not the time to act out of spite, Undead King. Even if you don't say it, everyone can guess that something must have gone wrong with your Royal Power Artifact. Otherwise, it would be impossible for you not to use it.

"I don't think anyone wants infighting right now; that would be courting our own destruction. If you really are facing a problem, it's best to speak up so we can all solve it together. After all, having one more Royal Power Artifact gives us a greater chance of winning. Pride definitely isn't going to let this go."

The other Gold Kings cast their gazes his way. The Undead King's face darkened; he knew he wouldn't be able to drop the subject today without coming clean.

However, he didn't answer directly. Instead, he suddenly pointed at King Chi, who was still bickering with the King of Red Lotus off to the side.

"What about her? She hasn't brought out Supreme Heaven this entire time either!"

Suddenly called out, King Chi froze. "What does that have to do with you? I've been wearing Supreme Heaven on my hand the entire time; I just haven't used it."

She held up her slender, pale hand, revealing the dark-gold ring on her ring finger.

The Undead King sneered. "Then why didn't you use it? Don't tell me it's a fake?"

A flash of panic flickered through King Chi's eyes. "Nonsense! As if Supreme Heaven could be a fake!"

"Then why..."

"That's enough!" The Dragon King walked over, his face gloomy, his dark-gold reptilian pupils sweeping over both of their faces.

"I don't care what reasons the two of you have. The Royal Power Artifacts are a matter of paramount importance. No one can guarantee that we'll be able to win the next time Pride attacks, so I must ensure that everyone can bring out their Royal Power Artifacts when the time comes. I'm certain the other Kings present feel the exact same way."

The other Gold Kings nodded, their gazes locking onto King Chi and the Undead King.

The Undead King hesitated for a long time before finally telling the truth.

"My Royal Power Artifact, Scarlet Moon, is with the Progenitor. She is often not in her right mind, so she cannot come here to fight."

The Dragon King furrowed his brow. "Then why don't you retrieve Scarlet Moon and use it yourself?"

The Undead King smiled bitterly and shook his head. "It's no use, because the Blood Clan Progenitor... is Scarlet Moon!"

"What?!" The Saint King was stunned. "The Blood Clan Progenitor is a living, breathing person. How could she possibly be a Royal Power Artifact?"

The Undead King fell silent for a moment before speaking slowly. "Scarlet Moon is actually a protective garment. Anyone wearing it won't die, no matter how severe their injuries are. They will always recover; it grants immortality in the truest sense of the word. But precisely because of this overwhelming vitality, Scarlet Moon is different from the other Royal Power Artifacts. She is not an inanimate object, but a living being!

"Scarlet Moon was worn constantly by the first-generation Undead King. This caused his life force to become inextricably linked to the artifact. Scarlet Moon was like an infant, constantly imitating and learning from the first-generation Undead King.

"You could even say she is a second first-generation Undead King. But when the first King died, the connection between them was forcibly severed. This damaged Scarlet Moon's consciousness and scrambled her memories. While it didn't affect her abilities, it ultimately resulted in the deranged Blood Clan Progenitor!"

"You're saying that the Blood Clan Progenitor is actually a manifestation of Scarlet Moon? That she forgot her identity as a Royal Power Artifact and genuinely believes she's the first-generation Undead King?" the Nether King asked, frowning.

"Exactly." The Undead King nodded. "That's why I cannot use Scarlet Moon for now. The only way would be to kill the manifested personality of the Blood Clan Progenitor, but as Scarlet Moon herself, the Progenitor is completely immortal."

"Can't you find a way to take the garment off?"

"How would we take it off? The Blood Clan Progenitor is Scarlet Moon. Unless we can make her willingly revert to being a Royal Power Artifact, no one can even dream of getting their hands on Scarlet Moon."

It was a dead end.
